The lands of this resort are beautiful and it’s a gorgeous beach front. We stayed for one night and it satisfied us! Great for the price you pay. The ladies at the front desk were very helpful and easy to get help from.
We stayed for 5 nights at the Kanok Buri and it is a really nice Hotel the staff are very friendly and helpful the beach is fantastic and the swimming pool is good. The buffet Breakfast is good, although we did not eat in the restaurant at night as it did seem to be a little pricey better value at big Johns Restaurant 30yds down the beach. You should be aware the Hotel location is in Lipa Noi which is on the west coast of Samui and it is quite quiet there are a couple of restaurants dotted along the Beachfront though. All in all if you are after a bit of peace and quiet this is the place for you
I thought I'd write this review to help other travellers as I am going through reviews for my next holiday. This Hotel is in Lipa Noi which is quite far from the airport and central entertainment which is perfect if you want to do nothing but relax. There are no shops, bars, entertain near by which is probably why the area is very peaceful and clean. The beach was very beautiful and clean I have stayed all around Koh Samui and think this is by far one of the best beaches...quite shallow at first so perfect for families and children. The only thing that put me off was a couple of stray dogs roaming around on the beach and in the front of the hotel but that's quite normal in Thailand. I stayed in a villa a few steps from the restaurant/pool/beach the location of the villas on the property are great you can literally walk to the beach in a few steps. There are a lot of plants and a pond around the villas which is nice but at the same time lots of frogs and insects don't really bother you but can sound crazy at night. The room itself was quite big and very clean. Don't be fooled by the Jacuzzi Villa as I was - the jacuzzi/bathtub was disgusting it didn't look like it had been cleaned for a long time and when I turned it yellow water came out so obvs we never used it once. The bathroom it's self was very the only problem was shower pressure was no good and water temp went up and down. My family stayed in a villa opposite with a pool. The room was pretty much the same but with a pool was good fun for the kids but as the pond/plants are right next to it slot insects were attracted which left my nieces running out the pool screaming their heads off. Breakfast was good but very reparative but standard breakfast for Samui with omelette station etc - food was always replenished and clean The only place in the vicinity of the hotel is opposite which is a lady selling some simple food dishes ok prices, another woman offering laundry service and a lady offering beauty/massage treatment and also car rental. This is where a really nice trip turned into hell and I have chosen never to return here. We hired a car from the place opposite it was fine gave our details deposit etc returned the car no problems/issues. The evening before we left a couple of guys turn up demanding money from us for damages to the car although there were no damages when we gave it back, we explained but they with the hotel staff turned on us shouting and almost becoming violent we thought the hotel staff may help us and tell them to leave but they did nothing and it almost felt as though they were in on it. The police then arrived and it turned out the police, the men and the hotel staff were all in ok trying to get money out of us. It was very scary and disgusting as we were travelling with three children. In the end after hours of arguing in the hotel lobby it came to an end as I started to record the ordeal and threatened to call British police. I was hugely disappointed that a resort that is quite expensive let this happen and the staff did not once even try to help us. Overall a good stay and clean hotel until this happened - this showed me that we were not valued customers and the staff did not care about our safety. I wouldn't stay here due to the customer care if you become in a problem which can happen easily in Thailand. If you stay here and want to explore Samui be prepared to hire a car or order a taxi. You cannot get one of the cheap tuk tuk /truck style taxis as the do not come to this area and the hotel is not near the main road.
We had a lovely stay at the resort in a 4 bed villa on the non-beach side - rooms were big, pool was lovely, and the staff were very helpful. The beach was beautiful, and we really enjoyed our trip. However, prior to arriving (and without our knowledge) we had been phished when in email conversation with the resort, meaning that we paid another bank account for our room, not the resort. While the resort did find us a room (which we paid for again), and assisted us in getting a police report, I was very disappointed that they did not take more action as regards their email security, especially once we reported the issue. Our emails were NOT hacked - there has been no other suspicious activity on our accounts. As we emailed with the resort re room details etc, it appears their email account was compromised, as the email address we were corresponding with subtly shifted, and we were therefore no longer talking to the resort, and were therefore scammed. Worryingly, this is not covered under fraud insurance. The hotel, while very polite and helpful made no effort to consider claiming on their insurance, even though it was clear the breach was on their side. I can therefore recommend the hotel and facilities BUT would ask them to immediately review their online security protocols, and warn anyone booking not to make any payments, without having spoken (by phone) to the hotel directly. Hugely unfortunate part of an otherwise wonderful trip to celebrate a friends wedding.
Seaside location is lovely and beach uncrowded. Having breakfast overlooking the beach was a treat. Staff were very helpful in sorting out some niggles with our rooms and found alternative ones as soon as possible..
We are so lucky we found this paradise. The rooms were REALLY nice. Everything is so clean, they offer a free one-way ride to neighboring areas at 3 pm. The breakfast is one of the best we've had at a hotel in Thailand (very good!) and included in the price. The price was amazing for the place! WOW! RIGHT on the beach. Perfect swimming beach for kids, very quiet with an amazing restaurant nearby also. We would have stayed longer if we could have-absolutely perfect!
If you are looking for a privacy and beautiful place at the same time, this is spot for you. Private beach access, huge pool, oceans front restaurant, little gym, spa... The staff was outstanding, always smiling and very helpful. Our big bungalow right next to the beach is just gorgeous. The location is little bit far from the rest of the world but doesn't matter because you find everything what you need right here at The Resort. They also offer a scooter or car rentals if you want to take a trip around thw island. Amazing vacation, thank you!
Resort was amazing! Staff even better, they are friendly and will go above and beyond for each and every guest. Really a great relaxing experience. The resort is located a bit of a distance from the hussle and bustle of the cities but they offer a free bus shuttle to 3 of the main shopping/tourist areas in the afternoon. The beach was clean, quiet and relaxing. I highly recommend this place 🙂
Staff very friendly although only couple speak English . We had private pool room & it was fabulous. We had B & B & the breakfast had nice variety of fruit, cereal , breads, eggs & omelettes. Cannot fault service or staff who go that extra mile to help. Taxi are expensive from hotel although still less than £20 to Cheweng. Paradise!
We stayed at Kanok Buri Hotel over Christmas. It was the worst, yet one of he most expensive hotel during our trip through Thailand. The hotel is situated at Lipa Noi beach. The beach is quiet, but sometimes quite dirty (in particular, the areas nobody feels responsible for). The hotel staff only cleaned (if at all) the stretch directly in front of the hotel, but not the area right next to the hotel. The sea does also not look inviting, we had a feeling that there was a lot of trash in the water due to the nearby harbours. The hotel has seen better days, but now it is rather run down. The garden in which the bungalows are situated is quite nice, but there is a small "river" that was probably not cleaned in forever and is a breeding ground for mosquitoes. I never got bitten by mosquitoes as much as I was during our time at Kanok Buri Resort. The first room they gave us smelled very damp, so we asked for another room. However, they forgot to bring out luggage to the new room. The new room was alright, although the bathroom was probably not renovated since the 90ies. The bedding had stains on it, so I asked them to change it. It would have been okay if we had paid 30-40 Euro per night, but we paid 90 Euro per night which is absolutely overpriced for the room we had and the service provided by the hotel. The staff was very friendly, but seemed to be unorganised at best or simply lazy at worst. For example, the staff never wiped the sun beds or the tables at the restaurant terrace if they were wet from the rain (only upon request). They also never put the sun umbrellas next to the sun beds (although I would expect that of a four-star-hotel). My mum, who is nearly 60, and I tried our best for about 10 minutes to carry one of the heavy wooden umbrellas to the sun beds, but gave up eventually only to notice three of the hotel guys watching us instead of helping us. The hotel offers a free shuttle to Nathon, Bophut or Chaweng at 3pm every day. According to the brochure, they also offer massages (1200 Baht for a 60 minutes Thai massage, normally 200-400 Baht), motorbike/car rental as well as private cars with a driver (2500 Baht for up to 5 hours, drive up to the mountains costs 1000 Baht extra). The transfer from/to the airport cost 900 Baht.
