First Bungalow Beach Resort

We stayed at First Bungalow last October with friends and returned again this month have again with 3 other families. First Bungalow did not disappoint, beautiful beach, great location! My previous review did mention a couple of short falls and I am sorry to say the front desk staff and porters have again let the team down. Why are they so rude? Please management provide these guys with some professional development sessions! As previously reviewed this place is such excellent value, the rooms are a great size (we had a beachfront bungalow) and they are on the beach! The buffet breakfast is fantastic as are the value snacks available at the beach bar. We will keep returning.

we stayed here a family of 7 for a week and from the moment we arrived the service was top notch the setting is amazing we had pool bungalows and nothing beat waking up and a couple of steps and you are in the pool each morning. Breakfast buffet was the best I have had overseas with curry an option which I took them up on each and everyday along with a good egg station , place was quiet and not overcrowded and just out of the hustle and bustle of chaweng with our own little cove of beach. Air con was icy , rooms were well maintained and made up everyday if you were lucky your towels would becom elephants or shells. If we return we will stay no where else but here thankyou again for a fabulous week and special metnion to the staff at the beach bar for your banter and smiles.

We lived in a beach bungalow, nice bungalow and location, but front door should be replaced, did not feel comfortable to leave belongings here.. Service then, not what I'm used too in Thailand, where are all the smiles and greetings when you meet?? English skills are bad for all personnel, only the guys working there actually talks to you and greets you when you meet them. ++Beach bungalow + Location - -Staff is not service minded nor friendly - Breakfast was not so good Please do something about your staff!

Booked from Australia a few months in advance for a friend's wedding in Thailand. Thought we'd splash a little bit of money as we're travelling for 6 months and did we get value or what! We've seen a few other places closer to the noise of town in the Chaweng beach strip and for 3 times the price, they don't look half as nice and are in such disrepair. We were allocated a beautiful room overlooking an incredible pool area. The website photos don't do it justice as this place is just devine but didn't seem like it when initially booking. It's on the southern end of Chaweng Beach so while it's an easy walk to the main drag with meals etc, it has none of the noise and bustle and to be honest - the food is much better and cheaper the further away you are from the main road. The room and hotel is spotless, really large, nicely executed, and has the worlds most powerful A/C seemingly, room service, a beach bar, a pool bar, beautiful lobby and assistance from the staff at any corner. Thai beds are commonly firm and hard but these are pretty good. If we ever came back to Koh Samui, we'd only book here.

I was traveling with 2 friends and on arrival at this resort we had to drag our bags across a very uneven paved pathway, we can live with that as we were excited to get there. When we started to put our clothing on our shelves they were all dusty so we had to contact the desk to get someone to clean them, 1 hour later we did it ourselves. In the bathroom we found a shower in a very high bath tub which someone with disabilities or an aged person would not be able to get into, which we emailed the resort prior to tell them we needed ground floor due to one of us having bad knees so this was a bit of an issue. The lighting was extremely bad as we had 3 beds and 1 bed side table with one light with low lighting. Other lighting was very badly placed through out the room and we could not see ourselves in any of the mirrors properly. We had asked for bed toppers to be put on our mattress's however their idea of a topper in our case was another mattress protector, also the beds and pillows were like rock, ok if you like sleeping an a very firm mattress. We found the noise from the adjoining rooms, next door and above, to be very noisy TV signal kept cutting out so watching any one show was near impossible. There was only 2 small draws in the whole room and that includes the bathroom. No ventilation in the room and you could only have the door open if you had the air conditioner turned off. The air condition broke down 5 days into our stay and it took all day for them to decide to move us to another room, we reported it at around 10am and we were moved at 10 pm after much arguing. Mind you the air conditioner in that room was very noisy anyway. when we got to the new room we found there was no Hot water and it took them another 24 hours to fix that. Yes the weather was very warm but I hate cold showers as do my friends. Over all it was a lovely place well located but would not recommend it if you want any sort of quality or service in your room. Staff, catering and room attendants, however were lovely and were very obliging to our needs. It was only management and desk staff we really had an issue with. When we asked for some sort of compensation we were offered a fruit platter, and late check out for free but we had already arranged that at no cost anyway.

Never book a standard room at this hotel. In annexe block and most rooms windows look into next block (about 8ft away) rooms or air conditioners! Reception staff worst have experienced and so trite to immediately offer paid upgraded room (obviously well trained in this respect) despite asking for management re changing rooms just kept getting told 'non refundable' - which i was fully aware of- no management forthcoming AT ALL over an 11 day stay. Even when we checked out receptionist could not or would not smile or even attempt to be pleasant and def no enquiry about your time with them (referred to you only as room number!!!!) Pity really as pool and beach stunning. Rooms (upgraded) little old fashioned but goid size etc. Other staff very pleasant.

beachside bungalows were fab, lovely clean beach in a beautiful bay. Staff all very lovely, yellow noodles in the beach bar were amazing. Only thing that lets them down is they run out of lots of food. Would definitely return though

The hotel is located at Chaweng Noi a smaller part of Chaweng Beach. There is free sunbeds, a beachbar and the staff is very friendly. We asked for superior rooms on ground floor and they fixed it. Unfortunately the first rooms we got were being renovated so we were moved to other rooms that were worn down. The pool area is great and there is always sunbeds avaliable. The have a jacuzzi and a small pool for children. They offer beach towels, you just need to sign when you take them. The beach is great, we like waves as we sure got them. Stayed here for 10 days and during that time there were both calm days and really big waves. The hotel is located a 15 minute walk from the Chaweng center. You can easy take a Taxi or Songtaow for 50 bath per person if you don't feel like walking. The breakfast is good and the omelett is very nice. The hotel is worn down and it does really need some renovations. We choose the hotel because of the easy access to the beach for a reasonable price. But if you don't mind walking a little bit I would pay the same price for a nice hotel a bit further from the beach. WiFi is existing but goes down a lot. You can update social media but streaming film or YouTube is out of question most of the time.

Beach bungalow, nice and clean the typical hard bed in Thailand, pillow was okay. I was there in week 14 in 2017, bad weather a lot of rain, wind and overclouded. The sea was not as come as it is in the pictures, a lot of big waves.

The location is pretty good as it is in the very end of the beach. Naturally the center of the beach is the busiest area, if you want more action. Food was great, people were friendly and scenery was really wonderful. It is only a few minutes walk to the main shopping street (right next to the beach), filled with restaurants.
