I am easily impressed but this resort just didn't do it for us. There was a confusion with our reservation upon arrival and we ended up with a different room - it was bigger but further away from the beach and the location was much more important to us than the size of the room. The facilities were run down and the beach disappointing. The staff was doing their best to keep the sand clean, but the water never was. The food a and view from the restaurant were amazing tough, and the staff was very nice and helpful. However I would still not recommend this hotel.
The room was a good size and was clean. The girl on reception was very nice and friendly and helped us book further travel. The location was good, it was a 10 minute walk to markets, shops and restaurants. We were disappointed with the swimming pool and it's surrounding area, it looked unclean and run down. The staff in the restaurant were friendly but the food was not great.
We took the place for the proximity to the beach, and indeed we slept 30 meters from the water. Other than that, the whole experience was disappointing: We ordered extra bed but had to argue to get it. Water current in the shower is very weak and the temperature changes constantly. When you leave the room with your key, I also stops the electricity in the outlets. The restaurant is poor. Small TV. Need a ride or long walk to get to another restaurant.
We stayed at Da Kanda for 4 nights. We asked to see their ocean villas because we had plans of upgrading. The villas were beautiful and had an amazing view but unfortunately they all smelled really bad of fungus, which is very unhealthy to sleep in. We told them this and they were aware of the situation. We decided to stay in our standard room which was ok, no fungus - the room and bathroom were very basic. Nice balcony though.
The resort is nice, we were in the building and the rooms were perfect, nice and clean. There is everything you need, swimming pool, restaurant, location next to the pier is convenient and the beach is nice. The staff is always here to help, they do care about you.
Stayed for three nights. Was a lovely resort. Right on the beach but beach not good for swimming. Nice bathroom but very low pressure shower. Restaurant was expensive for what you got. Internet wasn't great. Would have stayed longer but would have to pay 200 baht more than we had paid per night. Wasn't worth it for me. Very nice staff.
Beautiful villa with beautiful view. Friendly staff. Staff Helped to get bike and guide us. Far from full moon party. But staff can arrange shared tok tok for party for 100 baths. No near restaurants. Have to go out little long. In house restaurant is good and cheap. Love D place. Quite calm beautiful.
I feel obligated to let people know that they require a 500 baht room key deposit, and when I checked out they sneakily don't bring the room key deposit up and hope you forget. Luckily I remembered, but it was only after I asked for my room key deposit back did they give it to me. This is not professional behavior, and they should give customers the room key deposit back right after the customer hands over the key - instead of only if the customer brings it up.
Firstly, our standard room looked nothing like the pictures and was not nice at all! The bathroom felt like a dirty prison cell, the shower didn't work, the air on wasn't great and rattled all night, there were cob webs hanging from the ceiling, bugs easily got into our room through the door onto the balcony, the room was not nice. The restaurant is just as bad, service was the slowest I've experienced the whole time I've been travelling and when the food eventually came we didn't even get what we ordered.. my boyfriend ordered a cheese burger and received a chicken burger which was cold! The service during the day was slightly quicker and the pizza was the best thing on the menu! Considering the price for this place I feel like I have been totally ripped off, this is one of the most expensive places I've stayed whilst I've been travelling. The good thing about this resort is the beach. The pool is also nice and it's a reasonable distance from the full moon party. The staff in reception are also very friendly. I only stayed here for a few nights during full moon, although it is a nice area, the rooms are too expensive for what you get, maybe because it was a busy time. The garden rooms and villas looked really nice but I would recommend avoiding the main hotel rooms.
Hotel itself looks good from the outside, beach was decent, pool was cold and well taken care of, staff was awesome and helpful. Location was quiet and convenient. We started out in bungalow a7 but had to switch rooms because the a.c was old and lacking power, so we moved to bungalow a9. The a.c was slightly better so we stayed. But at night time, we had a hard time sleeping because the a.c would rattle and make loud noises. The bed was very old and uncomfortable, and the bathroom was enclosed, but was kind of like a concrete outhouse. The bungalow wasn't completely sealed, so you will find spiders, centipedes, and geckos from time to time. This place needs to upgrade the a.c units, and beds to say the least. Wifi also didn't work very well in our room. It worked better more near the pool area. I wasn't comfortable here so I probably wouldn't stay here again.
