Chaba Cabana Beach Resort3.5 out of 5.0

Stayed at chaba cabana for four nights, very nice clean resort. Would give 5 stars for the pool and beach it's self, as they are both clean and beautiful. However drinks are a little on the pricy side and the rooms are out dated with a hard bed. Overall nice place and would recommend it. Final note, I have no clue on how people can call this place loud. It's probably one of the quietest hotels in Chewang located on the far north end of town away from the bars.
Checked out after 1 night. Rooms need an upgrade. Very thin walls. Two twin beds pushed together, which was quite uncomfortable and very hard. Food from the restaurant not quality standard. Breakfast very poor. Fruit not fresh, pancakes like rubber. Band playing very late, which was quite annoying. Restaurant setting up at 5.00 am, with music playing again. Terrible internet, kept dropping out. Guests very loud, partying on there balconies, not the place if you would like to relax. Did not use the pool as it looked dirty. Staff did offer to change room, but checked out as I think all the rooms where the same. Many better places in Chaweng to stay.
excellent beautiful hot and relaxing/lots to see do kindness from staff and locals must go see/do really perfect area lovely sights must go do again really what more can i say GO TRY and you will understand REALLY
This is our 5th time staying at the Caba Cabana hotel..we just love it the staff are so friendly, the rooms are very nice and clean, also the food is very nice breakfast has all that you need and we often had lunch which was very nice too..The bar at the beach is beautiful there's nothing nicer than sipping away at one of the hotels lovely cocktails listening to the sound of the waves and soft music in the background then a short stroll up the beach and your in the buzz of things if you want it
At the quiet end of Chaweng, with a nice pool and one of the clearest (no coral) beaches, this is a very relaxing resort. Friendly staff are always helpful. Room was very spacious and had all modern facilities. Food is pretty basic but easy when you don't feel like moving around. Walk along the beach rather than the main road to get into town quicker, and safer. 10-15 minutes gets you close to the start of the main shopping strip. 20 minutes to Central Festival, an open air, covered shopping mall. There are a few currency exchange booths, restaurants, and scooter hire right nearby.
Good value for money stay. All staff very friendly, attentive and helpful. Location good , fronting the beach and walking distance from the centre of Chaweng and all shopping and local restaurants . On location pool a benefit.
Recently spent two weeks here staying in a deluxe villa, mixed results. The Good: The Staff are great. The beach is also great, probably the biggest section of this part of the bay is looked after by Chaba they have the most waterfront, it is also probably the best part of the bay and it is groomed daily. The upgrade was cheap (we did go in low season) rack room rate for a deluxe Villa is 20000 Baht a night we upgraded from a regular room for 5k per night. Close to everything, by taxi 200 baht to Central festival, 300 to the airport, 400 to fisherman's village. ( they will ask for more but haggle and you will be fine) walk out onto the road for a taxi as the resort will charge you 100 more than the real cost. The Not so Good: Breakfast is repetitive, same same daily, hard to spice up breakfast, i appreciate but it got old fast. The pools are great but not cleaned regularly enough, from the top they look crystal clear however stick a mask on and you can see the muck, in the private pool for the Villas all the underwater lights were blown and one was hanging out. in two weeks we saw the kids pool cleaned once at 11pm at night. The Villas were not all they were cracked up to be, they were OK at best. we had cockroach issues and the drains in the showers wouldn't drain, showering in ankle deep water is no fun and worrying about cock roaches crawling over you while you sleep is less fun (mattresses are on the floor, no bases). for the price we paid for the upgrade = so so. The Spa: Closed for good, had to go off site for a decent massage (although a very public beachfront one is available at good prices.) The Bad: The food. Simply Horrid restaurant, go next door either side, both neighboring hotels had much better F&B The noise. The Villas have a waterfall attached to the private pool and it runs all night, if your not a deep sleeper this could be a problem. The Noise part 2. The back wall of the bedroom in the villa we stayed in (Banana Suite) backs on to the neighboring bar, they have a singer on every night until 10pm, if you want to go to bed early forget it. The Really Really Bad: The beds. The mattresses are laid directly on to the floor and they are rock hard, Was not fond of the extra climb up to get out of bed from off the floor and for us the couch was a more comfortable sleep. All in all the stay was OK, had its good parts and bad, if you got a decent operations manager with some 5 star experience and a little injection of cash wonders could happen. however wont be back.
We stayed in a deluxe villa which had all facilities required but could do with updating as looking a bit tired.Bed linen and towels spotless. The staff are very helpful friendly and make you feel very welcome.Breakfast is very well catered for.Excellent location right on the beach and about 10 minute walk to main shopping of Chaweng.
Comfortable rooms, friendly staff, relaxing atmosphere, great fòod.... The list goes on. Coming from NZ in Autumn to the heat of Koh Samui was a bit of a shock but Chaba Cabana Beach Resort has a comfortable feel about it and a great swimming pool, or you can step out to the beach. The staff are tops, very friendly and helpful. 5 stars all the way.
We were in Samui for a wedding and choose the Chaba for its location and price. IMO its located in the nicest section of Chaweng beach, nothing but white sands directly out the front, perfect to wade out and chill in the relax in the knee height water. Our room was on the top level above reception. Beautiful views from the balcony and really quiet. I personally didn't mind all the stairs and found access to the pool and breakfast easy enough. Reading some of the comments on here prior I had imagined a 20 minute walk! I can see how this would be annoying if you have young kids or are elderly. Breakfast was nice and the pool was fine. Not too many hotel patrons so was easy enough to grab a chair at any time of the day. Walk along the beach to get into Central Chaweng and cut through a hotel to access the main strip. I didn't mind the outdated rooms, felt like Thailand rather than a typical dull hotel which could be anywhere in the world. The bed was hard which was perfect for me! Would stay again, and recommend chatting with Mr Tui. Good bloke.
