Spent a week at this amazing spot on our 2nd visit. Can it get any better? NO! From the moment we were picked up from the airport to our departure, all I can say is WOW! We were provided with cold towels and cold water on pick-up. At check-in, cold towels again with a cooling drink and an upgrade to a sea view villa, right near the pool. Breakfast is one of the best we have encountered on our travels and the staff really get to know you and know what coffee you like and when you want it. Nor should be congratulated over and over again on his selection of staff. Nothing is too much trouble and they are genuinely interested in you and most can speak very good English. We met U, who hadn't been at Napasai very long and he is very good at practising his Aussie slang on Australians and is just a delight to have around. Chud and Lek are the boxing trainers and also work around the pool, providing towels, and taking drink orders etc. They are also a delight to get to know. The pool is big, clean and welcoming after a hot day sitting and reading by the pool. The beach is a short walk away and you can swim safely but we chose to spend our time at the pool. We ate a couple of times in the restaurant, the Thai buffet was amazing. The nights we didn't eat at Napasai we ventured into Fisherman's Village at a cost of 300Baht which is $12 AUS. The resort ordered us a taxi and if you tell the driver a pick-up time, they will come back and collect you. Don't be fooled by taxi drivers trying to charge 500Baht to take you back to Napasai, as they see tourist written all over your forehead and will try to charge you more than 300Baht. Our villa was excellent, comfy bed and pillows and cleaned and stocked well every day with a bowl of different fruit each day. The only gripe we had were the floors were quite slippery and "squeaked" when walking from bedroom to bathroom. We both had a one hr massage included in our package and we opted for the aromatherapy one. So relaxing and beneficial. I could blab on and on about this place, only because everything I have said or would want to say is true. Do yourself a favour and visit, you won't be disappointed.
Second trip to stay here as a family of four. Better than 2 years ago....small details. Superb room, staff are excellent and location spot on. It is a bit remote but hotel taxi service is extremely efficient and hotel organise immediately. Worth paying for taxis to be in such a private spot. Beautifully maintained, well run by the Dutch manager Jeroen, superb breakfast and we couldn't recommend more. In hotel food / drinks/ services remain expensive compared to local options but overall a brilliant place. We really appreciated some staff and management remembering us. Thanks Belmond for another memorable 10 day stay - we'll be back, we just love it here.
Very nice hotel ,staff and service excellent our one gripe would be the location as it is a bit isolated and there is no shuttle bus and taxis were not cheap. That said we had a very nice holiday. But you have to be reasonably mobile as most bungalows are quite high up.
Spent a week here while on Koh Samui, this place is amazing! The views from the rooms are beautiful, we had an Ocean Front Villa, it was great to listen to the gentle lapping of the ocean at night. The restaurant options are great, the food is very good. Pool is brilliant, a very large infinity pool with ocean view. Possibly the best part though are the staff, they go out of their way to make you feel so welcome. At breakfast Pim and U are very friendly, U likes to practice is Aussie slang with yo, very funny guy! Down by the pool Chud and Lek will continue to entertain with their quick banter and relaxed attitude. If you get chance join Lek for a Thai Boxing session, great way to start your day! We will head back when we can!!
Absolutely stunning hotel which we had the pleasure of visiting 7 years ago for our honeymoon. We are back again with our two children and it is just as beautiful. I honestly cannot fault a thing. True luxury and so relaxed and unpretentious at the same time. Wonderful staff and best breakfast buffet ever. Daily kids activity at 3:30 which we really appreciated as parents. Thank you Napasai and we hope to visit you once again.
I have no idea why this hotel isn't 5 stars! We spent 2 weeks in Thailand with Belmond Napasai being our last hotel for our honeymoon. As soon as we arrived I was stunned by its beauty! We were met by the friendliest of staff who made us feel incredibly welcome with drinks and cold towels, this is quite standard for nice hotels in Thailand but they topped it off by giving us coconut ice cream 😋 we were then taken up to our room in a little golf buggy (these buggies are available 24 hours to take you to your villa in the hills) we had a sea view villa, it was just a stunning villa, all villas are detached and you truly feel like you're in your own private area up in the hills. The views are incredible with Ko Pangang one side and the Ang Thong National Park the other. Because we were on our honeymoon they left us a beautiful flower display on our bed saying 'happy honeymoon' which was just lovely! And they gave us a beautiful box as a present. You get a cute little beach bag to take down to their perfect, private stretch of beach with again the most friendly and attentive staff I've ever encountered. You get free access to a bunch of water sports including snorkelling and kayaking or you can simply enjoy lying in the sun sipping their yummy cocktails. On our first night we paid for a private dinner on the beach which was incredibly romantic and we happened to get there the night they had a fire show, which was great fun! All food there is incredible, it's expensive for Thailand but that is always the case if you eat in a fancy place in Thailand! It's worth the money though! If you're worried about money they will happily set up a taxi to take you anywhere in Ko Samui then you can eat at a locals place for nothing. Honestly I just have too many great things to say about this place and the people their especially Pim, Yu and Tony (these 3 people made our time super special) We have every intention of going back there one day, if you want a family holiday, honeymoon, friends holiday I guarantee you'll have the best time at Belmond Napasai!
The resort is situated well away from all the hustle and bustle. There is a lot of privacy in this place and good for relaxation. The room we took was the Sea View Villa, which had a great view especially the sea. The room is quite large and very comfortable. The bathroom and dressing area is very large. There are no locks on the doors in the bathroom and it maybe difficult if children are also there. The tap in the wash basin is on the wrong side and maybe good for the left handers! The food is good and tasty. The breakfast is very well laid out. But the menu is almost the same every day. Some variety would be welcome. Plenty of tasty fruits are always available at the breakfast. The staff are really wonderful, very friendly, helpful, very respectful and always courteous. This is real high light of the resort. The reception staff are really super and so are all the others including the concierge and buggy drivers. Electric buggies are always available for going around. The resort is well laid out and maintenance is very good. Nice to walk around at any time. There is nothing much outside the resort. There is a Mart for buying things about 2 kms onto the man road. The Fisherman's Village is worth a visit with a lot of stalls and food stalls too. A car tour around the island will take only about 4 to 5 hours. It is worth it and can be done by taxi or a rented vehicle.
This resort is just perfect for anyone looking to spend time relaxing in a quiet beautiful place with everything laid on. The staff are outstanding, courteous, happy and will help with every small request. The buggy drivers are friendly and cheerful and we loved the way they waved to our tiny grandchild. The Infinity pool was perfect, the toddler's pool just the right safe depth for smaller guests and the surrounds were immaculate. The food was delicious and plentiful with a wide selection to suit all tastes. We had room service most evenings as we had our small grandchild with us. The villa we stayed at was private and quiet with its own private garden, beach and pool set over 4 levels with a wonderful view of the water and the island opposite, sunsets were amazing to watch from the verandahs. The land is quite steep so guests with walking difficulties may find it confronting to use the many flights of steps but I believe it is worth the effort just for the view. Activities are tennis, kayaking, paddle boarding, wind surfing and cat sailing while the Thai cooking class and kick boxing classes are a must for fun sessions. Bikes are supplied to suit all ages and there is a gymnasium, secret garden and a small farm with goats, chickens and buffalo We had a full day private boat ride out to the islands with a picnic on the beach supplied by the resort which was brilliant. The Spa is wonderful with all kinds of treatments including manicure and massage and you must have at least one romantic evening dining on the beach. After a week of relaxing we were all sad to leave and will return as soon as we are able.
What an awesome reception for all and we had a few added extras being our honeymoon. Special gift, free wine, fruit everyday, lovely bed display etc etc. Didn't stop there as bed cover folded down each night, endless supply of bottled water and delivered to you at all times with cold ice around the bar. Evening entertainment, free use of water sports equipment. The staff are very helpful and never stop at trying to please. At check out we still got another gift. Only thing is buffet expensive so best to eat at the a la carte or there is a good restaurant down the road called the Relax Sunset Bar and Restaurants
I will try to breakdown the review in different points and provide answers to questions I have heard and seen everywhere. First off, I travel for a living - or better said, my job involves 80% of travelling so I get to see loads of hotels (I don't systematically review them all btw). This hotel is a truly beautiful place - I was astonished by so many things which I will try to describe : Location It is fairly remote and there is not much around to eat or to do apart from the walking street once per week (more on that below). To reach the hotel you will have to leave the main road 4169 and drive up a little hill for around 1km. At the end of the alley you will find a beautifuly arranged lobby and the different villas with a beautiful view. Hotel: The hotel is like I said, located on the hill. This means that the Sea View Villas are on a hill in parallel lines and at the bottom there are the beachview villas. On the other side, you also have the Garden View Villas. The hotel has two restaurants - one on the beach and one near the pool/lobby. It has a SPA, well-equipped fitness room, a ping-pong table and a boxing bag. There is also a pool table and a nintendo Wii (outdoors). All of this (apart from the SPA is complimentary). The hotel has one beautiful and clean infinity pool - awesome view and one private beach. The room We stayed in a sea view hill villa. The room was spacious and very clean. It offered a beautiful view on the sea, you can even shower while looking at the sea. There is a TV and DVD Player, a hairdrye, coffee machine, fridge and all the amenities that one could need. The room is not a luxury room per se, nothing is automated and you have no marble floor like in Dubai but you feel like you are in the right place - it just looks and feels right. So yeah, we loved the room. Personally we wanted a beachfront villa but after having seen it, I felt that the upper row was slightly better hidden - felt more private. The pathway that leads to the rooms actually goes behind the beachfront villa and everyone can see what you are doing on your terrace or in the room if you don't close it. Since you needed stairs to reach the Hill Villa, no one can actually see what is going on. On a side note - the hotel will provide a moskito repellent, free local fruits and 4 bottles of water per day. (you can get water everywhere during the day too, for free) Is the hotel clean? Very clean - rooms are cleaned twice a day... The beach and pool There is one pool and one private beach. I have seen many people complain about the rocks that make it impossible to swim. That is true to a certain extent but consider this: the hotel offers free Kayaks, free paddle Boards, free Seashoes, free snorkling equipment and a free, freaking, boat. So you can take any of these things to help you get where you want in the ocean. It is a private beach which means that contrary to public beaches like in Chaweng, nobody will hassle you. The restaurants The hotel has two restaurants that serve both thai and international dishes. People have been saying that it was a little overpriced. Consider this: We had lunch there once and had 2 x Pad Thai + 1 starter and some water. This cost us 1000 BHT so roughly 26 EUR now if you take a cab to the fishermen village and if you eat the same dishes in a good restaurant such as the Barracuda - you will pay 600BHT for the cab (return included) and around 1000BHT for the dishes .. Bargains can be made in smaller restaurants and on the walking streets. The breaktfast at the hotel is really good and varied! What is around the hotel? Not much – it is pretty remote. There is a family mart (supermarket) at the bottom of the hill – you will see it when you turn right or left in the alley to reach the hotel. How to get around? We took the cab – once to Bophut and once to Chaweng – set us off 1400 BHT so after day three we decided to rent a scooter. We rented it at the beginning of the alley, just next to the family mart. There is this little family living (daughter, grandmother and mother). We paid 250 BHT per day and deposited 75 EUR – no passport or ID needed – which is something other dealers will require. (they will be cheaper but will keep your passport). I hope this review will help you get around – feel free to ask if you need more info, I couldn't write everything I wanted due to TA. Final word: yes I would recommend this hotel and yes we will definitely go back – even to that specific hotel – just loved the peaceful retreat that it was. Get a scooter or a car and explore the islands, it is worth it and will not cost you a lot.
