Stayed there 2 days. Room old and dirty. In 2 days we change room 3 time due to aircondition not working. No phone either work. Brakefast was not worth the money. Nice staff and good location, nut never stay there again

I went there twice and I just love the cozy place with their terrace where you can sit slightly elevated above the beach and enjoy the comings and goings on the beach and the turquoise waters of Chaweng beach. I tried their iced coffee, fresh watermelon juice and the tuna sandwich. The sandwich was very tasty and you could tell it was freshly prepared and served with excellent fries as a side. The menu offers both Thai and Western dishes. The staff was friendly, prices were a bit over average - but then this is normal for the area - and the place is accessible both from the beach as well as Chaweng Beach Road.

I have just returned from a weeks stay at Baan Talay, for the first time l choose not to do any major touring around Koh Samui. I was very happy to just hang out at Baan Talay, great beach, good pool, great views from the restaurant on the beach. I abided by the Moto, Eat,Drink,Sleep, Repeat. Rooms were clean, air con, tv and wifi worked well, breakfast had a good selection. If I return to Koh Samui I would most likely stay at Baan Talay again. Jean

We went there for the second part of our honeymoon in May 2017. We stayed 8 nights. My opinions: *Its location is very good. Chaweng is the most popular part of Ko Samui and everything you look for is there. You can walk to Chaweng center from the hotel in about 30 minutes or you can use taxi, motor, everything. *The rooms are really comfortable and big enough. *There's a FamilyMart just across the street, that's really good for buying whatever you need anytime. *Breakfast is really good. *Swimming pool is small but lovely. Actually I don't like swimming in the pool, I'm a "sea person" but anyways..

spent 4 nights may 2017 , garden level room : very quiet hotel ( low season ,so few tourists) ,THE HOTEL IS RATHER NEW ,THE ROOM was clean and comfy ,a bit anonimous owing to the modern essential furnish and decoration. nice breakfast on the terrace overrlooking the beach ,which is a calmer corner in Chawerng( thanks god!!) , only bad point was the loud music at the beach; a good place to swim in a spotless sea , but the modern design swimming pool is nice , above all at sunset all the crew were very nice and helpful

I had stayed here about four years ago and decided to stay again. I stayed for two nights and then came back for one before leaving the island. I liked the rooms, they were clean and modern. The pool was clean and find it relaxing lounging around there. The breakfast was simple but okay. I have Celiac so have to eat gluten free and there were options for me. The restaurant staff and super nice and friendly. I really enjoyed sitting on their loungers over looking the water, and that beautiful view. I found the beds comfortable and the a/c was good. The hotel itself looked like it needs some repairs since the last time I stayed ie: tiles missing in the pool, grout in the bathroom in need of a serious scrub. I hope they are able to keep up with it because I really like this place. I liked the location. Its not in the main area but you wouldn't know it. It has lots of shops within a minute walking distance. I walked by street and beach to the main area in 20 minutes. I didn't find anything that different about it with the exception of a mall being there. If you need a taxi there is a man that has a taxi but drives you in his nice white car. He doesn't speak a lot of English but is super helpful and I felt safe as a solo female traveller. If he's not there the young man that works at the fruit stand will call him for you and get a good price.

Dropped in for drinks at the Hive beach bar to enjoy the sunset before dinner. Evidentially it was happy hour, so, two for the price of one. Honestly why bother! Neither my wife or I could taste any alcohol in either of our drinks. My wife's Margarita tasted synthetic and alcohol free, in fact the worst margarita she has ever had - just terrible. My mojito was no better. We didn't stay for our second drinks. The fact we were the only people here should have been a clue. Pity, it's a great location.

We booked a deluxe bungalow for a few nights at this place and had a very "lukewarm" experience. Being a frequent traveller around Asia, this is atypical of a normal Thailand hospitality standard, particularly if you are charging this kind of rates. The reception staff doesn't seem to be very enthusiastic about her job at all. She kept a straight face most of the time and forced a smile only after we smile at her. So much for trying to feel a little "welcome" during a vacation. I felt like we were trying to impress her more than the other way... The staff at the cafe/ house-keeping staff is a lot friendlier though. I strongly recommend to improve the service training as this is the first point of contact for all your guests and it is not a good start to their stay trying to "earn a smile". Despite stating in "black and white" in the booking receipt that we are entitled to an upgrade to the next category, they say that they are running on high occupancy and "sorry" no upgrades available. Not like we actually mind, since the next category is of the same size of the deluxe rooms, but one's expectations has not been met. If the rooms cannot be guaranteed, please don't commit to them in print and under-deliver, that's basics of hospitality isn't it? I personally feel that this place is overpriced for this level of service-- We have received much better services in hotels costing half of this. Bathroom facilities are installed in wood, so there's quite a bit of wear and tear. They change sheets every 4 days. Bath/face towels are not kept in great conditions( they look tired-- a little yellow and grey tone instead of the white ones one will expect from a hotel charging at this rate in Thailand) Breakfast spread is moderate but decent with a gorgeous view, but this is the only best part of the hotel. Pool is quite shallow and often flooded with families with kids ( more family friendly, not exactly couple friendly) There is a strip of beach where you can hang out during the day. TV options are non-existent with very bad reception ( grainy pictures in every channel, can't find movies as well), and a cumbersome Wifi that requires re-log in every 2-3 hours. We gave up and had better luck using our own Wi-Fi egg. Overall, a quite a disappointing experience.

This is my 7th time staying in Chaweng but first time at Baan Talay. I chose this resort for the last 7 nights of our holiday as in my opinion the beach and see is nicer at this end as opposed to the central strip near to Ark Bar and further north. The beach is quieter and you don't have to walk far out to go for a swim. On our arrival we were quickly shown to our room and we were very appreciative to have received an upgrade to a Superior room as opposed to the Garden room that we booked. The resort itself is very well maintained, bar and pool area and the accommodation and reception were pristine. The room rate included a daily breakfast which always had a good spread and plenty of choice. My husband and I had a fantastic stay here and would definitely return again. My only suggestion on improvements that could be made would be to replace the battered and very old and rusty beach umbrellas and to regularly comb the immediate beach area for rubbish and debris. We arrived on 5th April which is just after 1 week of storms which had churned the sea up and left a lot of seaweed and dead fish on the beach which was still there at the end of our 7 days. By cleaning this bit of beach (like the other hotels nearby do) would make a big difference to those wishing to sunbathe on the beach in front of the hotel. Aside from the above, our stay was fantastic and we will most definitely return.
