If you like to walk there are many good places to eat nearby. The only draw back is that the town has only 2 taxis so it might be best to rent a car. Loved the restaurant Hachiya within walking distance. He only takes reservations.

Beautiful location surrounded by mountains rice fields, and greenery. Staff at Marriott were very friendly, patient and helpful. Terrible transportation access. Surprised to learn taxi service only available from 8:30 a.m. Didnt ] need at night so dont know about evening or night hours. oʻ,The hotel and the onsen, and shops should get together and provide shuttle bus service at least twice or 4x a day to go to the preservation district of Gujo Hachiman. Great place to stay just outside Gujo Hachiman!

Relatively new, very clean, hotel just outside of Gujo Hachiman. Design of the hotel lobby and rooms was very nice and up to date. The room was large. The hotel amenities were basic but sufficient; there was an adjacent roadside station with restaurants, convenience store, farmers market and an onsen making it a very convenient location.

If you plan the trip to Gujo Hachiman this is a must stay place. Make sure to plan ahead of the public transport times as the trains to the hotel are not frequent. If you can this is an amazing place

Absolutely beautiful area and hotel. There is free coffee in the lobby and free parking as well. There are convenience stores within 10 minutes of the hotel and the Onsen is amazing
