My sister and I were in town for a tennis tournament and we stayed at the Renaissance Guiyang for 7 nights. The staff is incredible, very outgoing and they even helped us to exchange $ for Yuan to pay for the taxi. The attendants were incredible at the club level as well, They taught us how to play Dou Dizhu and helped us with any of our needs. I can't imagine there being a better hotel in Guiyang! I would recommend it to anyone who was heading to this region of China! -William Albanese
The Renaissance Guiyang is brand new and offers upmarket accommodation in Guiyang new city. The common areas are stylish and the Club Floor rooms are spacious and luxurious. The Club Room on the 23rd floor have beautiful views and offer a generous happy hour drinks and light meals.
I stayed in this hotel for three nights. My first impression the hotel was huge and looks elegant. When I entered the room, it looks modern and the bed was comfortable. Nearby there is park that is nice for walking around. But it's far from restaurants and shops. It took half an hour to go to nearby mall. Overall it was worthwhile staying there.
I stay 2 nights here . Very late checkin at midnight n the counter staff was very efficient . Breakfast - a wide variety of local cuisine and western is available . Room is good n comfortable as expected . Nice pair of slippers . Wifi connection is good . It's the second time I stayed in this hotel . The only glitch experienced this time is that it takes an awfully Long time ( 15 -20 minutes in total ) for the elevators to bring me down to ground level . That is despite 4 lifts - supposedly in operation . On one instance , the lift that I was in stopped at nearly every floor .
Big rooms, very clean, personnel efficient and kind, modern style and intercontinental breakfast: these are only some reasons why you should chose this hotel. Nice choice with a good ratio quality/price.
Just finished spending 5 days/nights over a 1 week period. It falls into the 5 star category for sure, and is very pleasant for all the following reasons: First, you can get very reasonable prices online and/or by calling and speaking to a Manager. I do recommend spending a little extra to get Executive Lounge access. The Lounge has a very relaxing view at the top as well as snacks, refreshments and most of all, dinner and a full array of liquors if you like to drink. The dinner is served at 5:30pm each night. Small buffet-style consisting of 4-6 dishes and plenty of fruits, desserts and refreshments. The rooms are all great with plenty of direct and indirect lighting, modern clean bathrooms and your own heat & A/C controls. Hot water comes almost instantly. You can also get a clothes dryer rack if you'd like to wash your own clothes. The sheets and pillows are also tops. Damn comfortable bedding as most top Hotels are now. The Gym, Pool & facilities are tops. Gym has all new equipment though could use a few more workout machines. I will say however that they keep their pool at 27 C, which is 80F. That's a bit too cold and uncomfortable for me & I swim 5 days / week. I asked the attendants if they can warm it up to 28 or 29 and they did the next two days. Though it went back down on the 4th and 5th day. Also, the sauna had some pointy nails/tacks sticking up from an area in the center. I pointed it out to a couple of employees but it wasn't fixed while I was there. The water in the shower area didn't get hot until around a full minute. Though hot water in the rooms was fine. The sauna and steam room are great overall and large enough for around a dozen people! That's large for a sauna and steam room. They also get really HOT which is great. Allow 15 minutes for the steam room to get really hot. English was not spoken by most of the staff but most of the front lobby folks speak adequately. The customer service Manager, "Bella" is great and Jeffrey Yuan is also very helpful. Both speak English. All the staff get an A+ for effort and hospitality! I would have liked a slightly warmer pool, but can't in good conscience (not) give 5 stars overall just for that. I also thoroughly checked out the Intercontinental just a few kilometers away. While it too was nice, It was considerably more money and the facilities were absolutely not as good. The Renaissance wins in Guiyang as the best 5 star value in my book! Howard S.
Good hotel to stay at if in Guiyang. Rooms are good and the hotel services reasonable, although English is an issue. I got the hotel to arrange my airport pickup which took 3-4 calls and a Chinese speaker to arrange. Without it I would have struggled to get a taxi from the airport. If also worth getting executive club access.
Nice enough property and staff... But out of 4 of us staying at the hotel not one of us could cool the room below 25 degree C. Very uncomfortable night of not restful sleep. Did I call and complain? No. My fault but in the room at 2am the last thing I want is a stranger coming to my room poking around to tell me he cannot do anything. Been in too many hotels to know this is the winter drill. I recommend trying another property unless the heat does not bother you. Then it's ok.
I've now stayed here a couple of times on business and remain impressed. This is a nice modern upscale hotel. The bar on the top floor is good although they told me I was unable to charge a drink to my room. Eventually I had to go down to the reception with them to get the charge applied which was frustrating. Breakfast is very good with wide range of food options.
This is an excellent 5-star hotel, thoroughly modern and clean. Beds are comfortable and rooms are quiet. Breakfast and dinner buffets both offer a wide variety of choices. Registration was quick and easy, as was check-out.
