The room was very clean with a big TV, and the fitness center was quite without staff, so you can enjoy your excise time anytime. By the way, almost staff was very friendly even though they English was really poor
I had a very nice stay at guiyang novotel. I had a welcome when i enter the lobby. The bellman smile friendly and assist with my luggage. Breakfast provided with western and eastern at a good price...
Hotel with good locator and facilities, as a Accor member,Novotel always was my first choosing on my business trip , the room was very comfortable and quite, fitness center make me feel personality,👍
What this hotel has going for it is its location in the downtown area of Guiyang. Comfortable beds (read that as not rock hard). The staff helpful and friendly when I have problems about the city review
Rooms were spacious and with big TV and bathroom, but unfortunately air conditioning was very poor so it wasn't able to lower room temperature below 25 degrees, even after we asked many time the staff intervention. The room wasn't very clean, there were hairs in the moquette and lot of dirt even just after cleaning. Morover only a part of the staff is english speaking and we had troubles in making su understand!
I had the misfortune of staying in this hotel on a recent trip to Guiyang. Although cheap, central and OK for a tourist trip I would not recommend it for a business trip. Firstly, you have to ask for things that are needed on a business trip such as an iron and razors. Secondly the TV is abysmal, only two English channels(Axa and CNA) and one in French. What is more there is no access to the USB port on the TV, so you can't plug in an electronic device and watch a film. Finally the design of this hotel is just plain weird. The bathrooms are tiny and a bit poky. I think the addition of a swimming pool would improve this hotel for the business traveller, but I don't think this is in the offing if the new look restaurant is anything to go by.This now looks very cheap and has those gaudy VIP rooms loved by some people. If you are coming to Guiyang on business, I would recommend spending a little extra and taking an alternative accomodation option
Be aware, although this is called a Novotel, it is very much still a domestic Chinese hotel. Almost none of the staff speaks English. Staff is friendly and helpful, but generally badly trained; checking-in and out takes ages. Breakfast is bad. The food is cold and very much tailored to Chinese taste. The hotel rooms are fine; relatively spacious, new and modern, but for some reason eventhough it was close to 30 degrees outside, the airconditioning in the hotel was not working. It was impossible to get the temperature in the rooms below 27 degrees, and opening a window at night isn't possible either because of the 24 hour construction currently going on next door. Overall, nice facilities but obviously it seems poorly managed and not up to international Novotel standard.
Although this hotel was more than 90 minutes away from the airport (major traffic jams, wrong time of day), I found it to be located well (very close to major shopping centres and restaurants) and had spacious, clean rooms with all required amenities. I enjoyed a very tasty Hainanese Chicken Rice in their restaurant for dinner and their buffet breakfast was excellent. The staff were very helpful, even though we had initial difficulty, as no-one spoke English. Once they found the English-speaking supervisor, the check-in process went smoothly. As we had an early flight the following morning, the hotel provided a car and driver, at no cost, to take us to the airport. I was very impressed with their service.
Novotel Guiyang is a comfortable and convenient hotel in Guiyang. The rooms are dark though. Best to opt for amd oay extra for executive floor room so you can ise tge lounge to do your work in. Breakfast is quite extensive. Great location.
What this hotel has going for it is its location in the downtown area of Guiyang. The lobby has a bar that was always empty, a kids' toy machine where you try to grab a stuffed toy, a restaurant that isn't open until 4-ish, very few staff who spoke English, but reasonably comfortable beds (read that as not rock hard). The restaurant had a kids' play area with a bike and not much else. The breakfast was not really geared for Westerners, but you can always find fruit and tea and toast. We stayed 2 nights.
