Our last city at China to stay for 3 nights was Guilin. We booked room with terrace # 335. What an excellent view... perfect view to see mountain and garden. It has the terrace where you could go out and sit outside your room... Surprisingly, first time to know that this room is equipped with LCD projector where you could watch movie lazily in your room... It has 4,000 + movies to choose from.. Its horizon club lounge is also awesome.. not too spacious compared to Beijing but it has stunning view i.e. mountain and garden.... We sit there to relax and read the book... The horizon club lounge manager named Ms. Daisy Chen is very extremely professional and friendly, assisted by her colleagues.. I wish can hire her in my company... Very professional , quick response but still friendly... I just shared two nice experiences out of countless experiences : a). They know that we liked watermelon juice / orange juice and siomay ... We did not ask for ir but they “made effort” to prepare it fresh for us during our stay day and night... They perform excellent customer service especially taking care for its loyal customers like us. b). We are asking the horizon club lounge staff of where could we get local dessert to taste ... They surprisingly brought us local dessert to us in 15 minutes ... What a service ... Another thing, We liked the facility at the hotel... very kids-friendly as this hotel provides mini zoo, play ground as well as flower garden... It has tai-chi facillity where we can try for free... For morning jogging is also available as they provide jogging track. The car transportation from and to hotel is also excellent.. Driver drove the car in standard speed.. Car is equipped with WIFi and fruit and water... Very friendly driver named ALAN XIU... we appreciated him so much The guest relation officer named : Nan, Alice and Mercia made their extra-mile excellence service to us on the last night.. They prepared the cake, drew a card and gave us wine and dressed in their local attire... It is not the cake, but what we cherished was the hospitality and their friendliness.. I attached the pictures for the sharing I hope that other Shangri-la can be encouraged /inspired from their outstanding customer excellence for their guests especially for their loyal customers. In conclusion : very very awesome hotel and it fully deserves chosen as # 1 hotel at Guilin.. Worthwhile hotel to visit and stay
Stayed in a standard twin deluxe room with city view. Room was average size with desk and single lounge chair and footstool. Second chair or larger lounge would be nice so two people can sit but room is not large enough for this. Beds were comfortable. Wi-Fi ok. Lovely wall mural above beds. Rated this room down from 5-star for the bathroom - small and it needs better cleaning - mould around sink and in shower - looks grubby. Breakfast offered the usual Western options and we were happy with it, although we did eat early and seating and service were not a problem. Staff had trouble understanding English. The common areas of this hotel are very impressive and grounds are lovely. It is away from the city centre so there is not much on offer in surrounding area but this means it is in a fairly quiet location.
Beautiful hotel. Excellent wifi, with a VPN (means you can surf FB and Google). Has a cute little 'zoo' where you can pet the ostridge, and the baby pig that my kids loved. Had little activities to do through out the day, but we were gone, touring and did not get to partake. Highly recommend
Stayed two nights as part of our China Tour - as we were arriving our tour guide said what lovely views from the hotel. Room is fairly large & well furnished, excellent bed & nice sized bathroom -but the view was of a building site & not the river & the mountains.Ah, shame about the view. Nicely landscaped gardens with a little zoo for children -large indoor & outdoor pool, which was used as the back drop for Tai Chi in the morning ( great photos). Breakfast is fine but not the best we had on out tour. A very good comfortable hotel which is couple of kms from the centre of town.
Amazing service starting from check-in with the receptionists, to the Li Cafe hostesses, to the waitress at the Sport's bar. The hotel is really kids friendly with a mini zoo (piglets, ducks, rabbits...) and a kids zone accessible at 58rmb for the kids or 69rmb for the teens on the 2nd floor. I lost an item in another hotel in Guilin and talk to manager at Front Desk , then the concierge Ray took care of it and I manage to find my item at the airport. I was really impressed by the communication among the team and the professionalism of all the staff at Shangri La, especially in China...
This hotel is great, especially for family. It's got various facilities, such as fitness center, Children's room...etc. Adults and children would enjoy their stay. Buffet at the hotel's restaurant is very good. It's worth the money.
Al;l the service staff were pleasant ,attentive and knowledgeable,Our room was clean and comfortable with all amenities including English language TV channels, Check-in and check-out was a breeze. The Horizon Club Lounge was an ideal place to relax and have a drink;the staff were first rate. The happy hour food was beyond reproach. House keeping was almost perfect. would recommend to anyone who wishes to visit Guilin.
Having stayed at many of the Shangri-La chain of great hotels in was extremely upsetting to be greated by the "Butlins" approach to this hotel. The canteen, not a restaurant, was adequate with average quality, lack of choice, and food just pilled high was the most disappointing. The rooms were ok.
More than expectation for its facilities for kids. We upgraded to horizontal floor and all amenities are fantastic in room. My child love the projector in room and enjoyed his cartoo. My husband liked the Bose speaker a lot and he can do exercise in the huge balcony with music.
I must say i have never been in an hotel so kids-ready! Two massive, really massive playrooms, small boats to ride on a small lake, plenty of activities. Just perfect for kids Comfortable and contemporary rooms. Great views on the mountains
