got check in by Florence. so professional. The room we booked was not available in non smoking. she upgraded us immediately. very nice room. had to take a taxi to panyu. it was very challenging. and the bellboy stay with us for 25 minutes helping us. hotel is adjacent to walking street as well as liwan plaza. the only thing i would suggest to the hotel is to take care of the horrible smell at the entrance and lobby elevator. luckily ounce out in lobby it not a issue no more. will definitely come back on my next visit.
Spent only 1 night here, and did not choose the option for breakfast, for a quick family trip. Check in was somewhat troublesome as they required the passports of ALL guests before they would release the rooms to us. The entrance isn't very impressive, especially if you are coming by car. However the room was huge and comfortable and we were a little regretful that we weren't staying longer. Large toilet, large room which included a desk and sofa area. Everything was clean and bright. Concierge staff was helpful when we asked for places to visit in the area, and the sweet girl took her time to explain and describe the places and gave us directions. Location is very central - it opens to the main pedestrian shopping street in Guangzhou, and is close to good eateries like Tao Tao Ju. Caveat here is that my family and I speak Mandarin and Cantonese - ie I can't be sure if the hotel staff can speak English.
This is a very pleasant hotel to stay. Good staff, clean comfortable rooms, beautiful lobby. However, the location is not the best. The views are of very underdeveloped business and residential buildings which you can see from your room. It's not the best location where I have stayed in this city. The food is very good. They have an executive lounge which offers free sodas and condiments during the day. Early evening they host a happy hour with beer, wine, cocktails and a a selection of appetizers, brads and salads.
Price is fairly reasonable but inside the room is not very clean and the utility are in bad shape. The only credit is breakfast is good and location is just in front of the famous dragon bridge. At night is very busy and full of tourists.
We stayed in October on the ninth floor. The room was spacious, the property was older but well kept. The location is what brought us to this hotel. it's located at a pedestrian walking street where there is all kinds of shopping. We did not have breakfast in hotel as there restaurants and food court immediately outside the hotel. Rooms was a bit noisy facing the street but quieten down as the night went on.
To get to the hotel you need to go through an ugly dirty road, with terrible traffic that makes the access to the hotel incredibly slow. Unless you plan to walk everywhere, access isn't easy. Far away from airport and train stations. Staff was helpful in coordinating a taxi for us and the hotel is clean and comfortable. Pedestrian street in the back has good shopping and some dining options. I wouldn't stay here again due to the traffic in the streets around it.
I've been coming here for 10 years. Just checked in and they want to charge me a full day's rate for the previous day because I'm checking in at 6am. Or, half a days rate at 7am. So I'm sitting here waiting until 7am like a fool. Ridiculous. Well they just lost a loyal customer. Hope it was worth it. Marriott here I come.
The best thing about the hotel is its location, being just a short walk away from the ever busy Shangxiajiu Pedestrian Shopping Street. The hotel’s reception is on the 4th floor and is accessed via a small street level lobby with several elevators. The room was very spacious and comfortably fitted with pleasant furnishings. Even the toilet was generously spacious with a bath tub and a shower cubicle (which did not leak through to the outside)! However, the check-in staff didn’t quite seem to know how to handle our reservation when we were checking in. Nevertheless, at check out, another staff was able to help us book an early taxi to the Airport (101 RMB + 15 RMB toll).
Hotel is far from railway station and airport. Not easy to get a taxi there, and the entrance area is dirty/old street. Worst thing, the room! Even with an upgrade, the room was very large but old and need some renovation (bed was ok). Main concern is the whole room and floor were extremely humid and cold (colder than outside!) Try to turn ON heater but it was useless. Even after 2 days the room was still very humid and cold (has to wear jacket inside the room while outdoor temperature is 25 degrees...) The reception staff is nice and helpful but I really don't understand how this hotel can be rated 4/5 online. For sure I will never ever go back to this hotel for next trip to Guangzhou
A true business hotel, room was nice, well located. Near to shops and shopping area. As for muslim travellers, a Halal restaurant is just a few meters away from the hotel. Look forward to have another stay soon.
