This Hotel had its Glory Days. Now it looks like is surviving. You can find offers on the web, around 30 USD per night. The food service is very basic. The service in general is good. One bad aspect is that is just next to a couple of karaoke bars, so if you want to have a good rest avoid this on weekends. This is one of my favorites for emergencies and is enough for that.
I rarely write bad reviews, but this place was terrible. From the old stained floors, sheets stained with who knows what, I tried to take a shower and had water up to my knees. Toilet was stained and hardly worked, the TV although a flat screen had a terrible picture. (That was just in our room) My in-laws had a similar experience in their room along with missing towels, their TV wasn't working at all and you are given your TV remote when you check in, which also has to be given to the front desk when you check out. We were so tired we stayed one night, but then finished the rest of our trip in a wonderful new hotel near by. **to top things off the receptionist tried to steal our refunded money and it took two days of going in and staring her down to get it back.
We were charge for an extra night that we did not stay at the hotel and they refused to refund us the money, we had to fly back so we could not stay much to fight with the hotel. Do not stay there. I repeat do not stay their
This hotel has a nice lobby and outside is OK. I got a good offer of $30 USD at night and for that price is excelent, but for $66 USD per night at regular price is expensive and noy worthy. The rooms are not that bad, but need them to be remodeled urgently, in some rooms the airconditioning doesn't work, the carpets are worn out as well as bed. There is no hot water after 10 or 11PM. The location is ok and the facility is not that bad but the rooms really required maintance.
You should make your booking by booking.com due to they accept the booked, if you did not dot it, the hotel will be more expensive, it is a good hotel with great bedrooms. I spent a good night. The only thing that I did not like was that it does not have ESPN to see the Green Bay packers game.
It claims to be a 4 stars hotel, yet I have seen many 2 stars way better than this one. Needs a complete fumigation, new beds, new TV's, and new Air conditioners. We didn't have hot water in the first room they gave us, plus there were small cockroaches and earwigs in the room. We requested a new room and they gave us another one, in which again, there wasn't any hot water to shower. Workers there are nice and actually try to solve your problems, and the bell boys too; however, their good service isn't enough to rate positively this old hotel. I stayed there for one night, and it was the worst mistake ever.
Quite possibly the worst hotel in town, the electrical service sucks like hell, also you have to wait 20 minutes to get hot water, it's really a waste. The food in the restaurant is terrible, even ham has a horrible taste. The elevator sometimes works, so be prepared to carry your luggage cause sometimes there is no one there to do it for you. For the price you pay there I really recommend to book another hotel. I had to stay for one week, worst hotel ever.
We pay in advance the reservation and they cancelled the day we arraived. The manager never showed up and the front desk lack of customer service to help us find another hotel. We were not the only ones having the same problem with the hotel. The hotel overbooked.
This is just an average hotel. The rooms were clean but drab, on the small side, and slightly out of repair. The service was mixed - some staff very friendly, others a bit surly. It's on the main avenue through town but not particularly close to anything. For the price, there are other, better options to choose from in Leon.
Hotel San Francisco is central enough to walk out the door and explore just about anywhere in town by foot. It sits adjacent to an entrance to the "Subteraneo" which is the old river bed converted to a tunnel access ring road of the town. The rooms are a bit drab - ergo - $28(US) per night (inclusive) ? 2 Double beds/ shower/toilet and cable TV(en Espanol). The staff were friendly enough, although on day 2, presuming we were --- the receptionist mimed a discreet gesture to a chambermaid (---) to get a quick laugh..., the service is adequate, the room clean. My main quibble was the lack of a good reading lamp at night. Everything goes by the front of the hotel, parades, marauding dogs and the general commerce, but if you're a traveler on a budget and can hack a bit of street hubbub, the rooms facing the main street with a balcony can be entertaining- Euro journalists and grunge photographers will have a hey-day. 2 nights might be your max.
