Right on Sovana main street, this awesome resort is the perfect place to enjoy Tuscany essence. Rest in the big and beautiful garden full of olive trees (and even a labyrinth...) or in the swimming pool area. Sleep in cozy and quiet rooms. Have a good breakfast inside or in a nice court under big umbrellas. Service is friendly and helpful, price pretty convenient. An internal parking is available, free of charge. Highly reccomended.
We stayed here for two nights just a couple of weeks ago. We loved Sovana and we loved this hotel. The building is beautiful and the pool was outstanding! We had lovely breakfasts and our room was perfect. Nearby are some really good places to eat and drink. We could not fault our stay here. Our only problem were the mosquitoe bites we received by the pool! We will spray ourselves next time! We hope to come back next year and stay again. Beautiful.
Lovely comfortable spacious rooms with spacious beautiful garden, exceptional pool and friendly staff near the beautiful San Gregorio Cathedral (12thC). Sovana is beautifully preserved, uncluttered by tourists and full of interest and charm. Day trips to Sorana, Saturnia, Manciano, Montemerano and Pitigliano are all easy to do and packed with charm and interest. Plan to return and sample the Saturnia bath.
My husband and I spent one night at this lovely hotel and wished we could have stayed longer. Sovana is a small, quiet village so it's the perfect place to relax. The Sovana Hotel and Resort makes that easy to do. The hotel is located at the end of town across from the Duomo. The room we stayed in was clean and well-appointed with a view of the garden. It had a very comfortable king size bed and was air conditioned. The bathroom was modern and large by European standards. There was free wifi. There was also a swimming pool and lounge chairs in the garden. They offered a full buffet breakfast which we ate on the patio. The staff was welcoming and helpful. If you plan to visit the area, I highly recommend this hotel
Stayed here for 3 nights. Rooms decent with decent bathroom. A/C was broken in our room for the first 2 nights and we moved rooms though air was not much better. Breakfast came with the room with good espresso. Breakfast was pastries and eggs. Plenty of cats around the hotel. There is a pool and you are close to any of the restaurants in the city. We drove to plenty of other medieval cities in Tuscany using this hotel as our base. Nice grounds and the hotel is clean.
Stayed for 3 nights. Loved the grounds and the peaceful village. A perfect get away for those who want beautiful surroundings and great service. We used the town as our base as we visited many areas in south Tuscany. Pitigilano is also a wonderful hilltop town not too far away. Went, hiking drank local wines, ate local cheese and just soaked in the beauty and ambiance of the region. Great breakfast service and wonderful staff. Not a luxury villa, but a excellent overall experience.
What a lovely stay we had in this hotel. Nice room with a large bed and beautiful bathroom and fully air conditioned should you wish to have it on. The hotel decor is very stylish and the gardens with pool are stunning. A well stocked breakfast buffet is a welcome start to the day. Staff are all very welcoming and helpful. All in all a hotel well worth recommending.
Great new-sh building, build in the traditional style OVER and Etruscan building (part of which can be seen through gals plates in the floor and in the garden. The rooms were great, the beds excellent, the garden and pool were exquisite and the staff could not have been better. We ate in the town in the hotel owned restaurant and that was excellent.
Sovana, and the Sovana Hotel Resort was somewhat of a surprise that reflected the Toscanini culture and heritage. Very nicely decorated with a delicious breakfast on offer. The village caters for every eating desire. The roads and lanes are tricky, particularly the one way signs. Great memorable visit.
The Savana Hotel is a great place to recharge. I stayed a week and found the rooms comfortable, the complimentary breakfast delicious, and the cappuccinos are the best in Italy! The host and staff are very helpful in setting up massage, transportation, tours of the Etruscans tombs and the Duomo, hiking, riding and idea on where to eat. The city of Sovana has amazing fresh food, interesting history and lots of cats. If you want an Italian experience away from the crowds some time in Sovana at the Sovana Hotel and Resort is worth the drive.
