Dated, looks like a basic motel Poor value for money

Pros: a nice location. Cons: Cheapest maintenance, no internet (0 speed), 8 low cost TV channels, no room heating, some rooms are very hard to get into. Resort? No - more like a motel.

Room had a nice view. But other than that it should not be called a "resort". It is a hotel with a mediocre overpriced restaurant. No gym. There was no drinkable water. Wifi was at glacial speed. Ok if you have no other options.

We arrived after a long drive, and were expecting just a quite evening in the room. While walking in the evening the Hotel receptionist asked about our plans, and suggested a Bonfire on the beach! I was blown away, as she set it all up, helping get us started, and even offered Marshmallows! My two boys had never experienced this and we all just had a ball for a couple hours finding driftwood and relaxing by the fire. We wanted to extend for a couple more days, but this conflicted with our next reservations down the West Coast. For not expecting much, your staff made it just a perfect stay.

The eco suites provide superb views. Great location near the Punakaiki rocks. Good dinner restaurant. The breakfast is absolutely horrible though.

This is one of the nicer hotels we found in the countryside of New Zealand. It rivals an international hotel in an area where a lot of the options are just motels. The room was clean, contemporary, and quiet. My only complaint is that the mattress felt old and soft. I prefer a nice hard mattress, not something a bit saggy.
