HI Express Theatreland is in an amazing location. A 2 minute walk from the main bus depot. Staff were pleasant and had lots of local knowledge Room was small but very clean and functional. Bed was comfortable. The breakfast area is fantastic. Amazing selection. Truly the best aspect of this hotel. The Stella on tap was delicious.
The location of the hotel is fantastic and near Glasgow’s city center. It’s within walking distance of much of what you’ll want to do. The staff here is also very welcoming and professional. The rooms are very small and utilitarian, but clean and the bathrooms were large. The closet was open to the room, the hairdryer attached to a wall by the beds, tiny television, etc. It felt a little like a college dorm room. The breakfast was nice. In the future, I would probably stay at the neighboring Holiday Inn as the rooms looked to be much more attractive and less dorm-like.
I stayed at this hotel on business in October. The hotel is in a good location close to the train stations. The rooms were a nice size we good desk facilities for working. They also have a very good shower as it’s well off the ground so you don’t get the usual issue of water going everywhere and it was a good size with good flow. The breakfast quality was ok and I would say this hotel represents good value for its city centre location. The bare area is small and does snack menus but there is Di Maggio’s restaurant next door which you can dine in and charge back to your room. Heaters in rooms are a little funny to get working and the double glazing does not cut out all the city noise, but generally this is a good place to stay.
To start with, coming from London Holiday inn express, we missed the handy phone in the room, check in took us almost half an hour, the front desk missed the welcome voucher for IHG members. The rooms were good enough with decent space and laundry was available. Location is central with 10-15 mins walk from Glasgow central station. By this time, we are tired of the same breakfast menu all days. Definitely, front desk can be more approachable given that glasgow boasts to be "friendly" city.
Clean room, good central location close to amenities such as Cineworld cinema, restaurants, shopping, Buchanan Bus Station. Hotel has friendly, knowledgeable staff. Had couple of issues, resolved quickly and efficiently.
The absolute best thing about this hotel is it's location, a few meters from the Buchanan Bus Station where the Airport Express Bus both from Edinburgh Airport and Glasgow Airport arrives and departs. It's in the center of Glasgow so for a few days stay this hotel is perfect, as well as being reasonably priced. The staff was rather firendly and helpful and the bar downstairs was never packed. A good night's sleep in the dead center of Glasgow!
I recently stayed here for a work meeting. The location was great being right in the centre of Glasgow, with the town within walking distance and plenty of taxis and public transport. I parked the car across the road and the car park is really reasonably priced for overnight £3. The hotel can validate your ticket for cheaper day rates also. The room was super clean and well stocked with tea/coffee/ironing board/hairdryer and the free wifi worked well. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was good, the coffee machine in particular was a nice touch, loads of options and obviously pretty new, with take away cups so you could grab one and go if you didn't have time to sit and eat. I particularly loved the porridge pots and the option of grab and go fruit, and the latte from the coffee machine was AMAZING! I nearly went back for a second! I'd stay here again if I was back in the area. Very impressed.
Brilliant location but not too noisy as it's set back from the heart of theatre-land Service from the staff was very good and friendly Pity they don't have a full restaurant but loads of places to eat around the hotel; good thing is they do some snacky products to keep you going if you're peckish and they have a nice bar
Our room (a twin, facing the carpark opposite) was fairly small but adequate - no complaints about that! Very comfortable beds, good wifi service, excellent breakfast. Hand soap and shower gel dispensers in the bathroom, with a wide range of other toiletries available on request. An iron and small ironing board are a welcome addition to the facilities. Breakfast and check-out are helpfully later on weekends (by 11am and 12 am respectively). The hotel is about 2 minutes walk from both Buchanan bus station and the main shopping centre - very convenient location.
Within easy walk to most of the main shopping and eating areas in Glasgow. Only a fiver in a taxi from Glasgow Central (a bit up hill so why walk) and easy walk from Glasgow Queen Street. We stayed as we had a concert to see in the Royal Concert Hall, a very short walk away and it was great to just stroll back after the show. The hotel was just what we expected as regular users of HIE hotels. Good room, clean and comfortable and with friendly and helpful staff. Two restaurants below, although there is so much choice in Glasgow it seemed a shame to miss some local catering! No complaints whatsoever, and everyone from reception to the bar staff to the housekeeping staff were only too pleased to make the stay perfect. We liked it so much we stayed another night and the staff even made sure we did not have to change rooms.
