Glasgow Pond Hotel

Friendly and very helpful staff. Room service was pretty good. Not a sound was heard which is good for those wanting to get away from a busy noisy life. Location is also great, if you're into site seeing on an individual basis tram is near and bus line is right on great western rd with a straight shot downtown with plenty of restaurants and shops. Would definitely stay here again.

Stayed at The Pond for 8 nights and was very impressed. From check in to check out I experienced no problems. The staff, including those who work in the room service department were nothing but courteous and kind. The room was cleaned to perfection each day and they even offered to call for a taxi during checkout. Would definitely stay at The Pond again.

no, no, no, it was good, just hate filling out reviews.

I was familiar with the Pond Hotel prior to booking rooms there. My husband and I came from the US for my mother's funeral, and needed a hotel close to the railway and a shop to buy food items. Pond Hotel fits the bill. It is a short walk to Hyndland Station, and an M & S Simply Food is a good place to find quickie meals. Breakfasts are delicious and filling. The staff was very helpful and kind. Our room was quite sufficient, though a little smaller than what we are used to in the US. We appreciated the emphasis on being 'green', and were happy to leave our paper and plastic items next to the bin for those who cleaned the room to collect. The hotel is very close to a taxi stand, and the trip to the airport is a standard GBP 19.80.

The hotel experience was good from my viee. Minus the construction (which we recieved no warning for) the room and staff were great. I'd come back again.

Location made it easy to drive to airport early in the morning. Convenient to bus lines to get to city center.

Incredibly reasonable price of £61 after exchange from $. Room cleanliness is marked down only because it was a smoking room but we were apologised to at check-in. Staff is marked down as at 7am on Sunday morning the cleaner came into the room. She was apologetic but key card system should show the room is occupied. Breakfast was surprisingly good and at the price we paid we would definitely return.

The hotel is conveniently located since it has a service station with a small grocery store in front and is well served by buses to the city. Our room was noisy, from people chatting while having a smoke outside or our neighbors having a loud drunk argument. Maybe we were just not lucky with our room.

The hotel offered a good price and was the only one near where we wanted to be in the West End of Glasgow. Still it was a bit disappointing. We stayed there in mid-November, but had to keep the window open all the time to try to cool the room down. (No A/C and the window opened only a few inches.) Leaving the window open meant we got traffic noise from Great Western Rd. Plus, EVERY morning there was some truck or other outside work going on at 5-6 am, waking us up. The bed felt hard and worn-out. The only cover was a comforter. So it was hard to get comfortable and not be too hot. There was also a compressor/fan noise that cut on and off every few minutes, all night long. (Maybe the AC for another room?) Breakfast and staff were good. I might stay there again IF I could be assured of a room that was more comfortable. I'd recommend this only to someone who wants to be in walking distance for that area in Glasgow (like we did) -- and then I'd encourage them to make sure the room is comfortable.

Free parking on property, at a bus stop for a straight shot to the city center, full service.

The staff were very courteous and attentive. Our requests were met in a timely manner. Rooms were adequately stored with necessities and well cleaned. The in house restaurant was high priced , but there is a market right next door, Marks & Spencers where you can find snacks etc.and an ATM machine but they should at least consider a small refrigerator in the rooms. It was centrally located to public transport as well, easy getting around to shopping, sights and the city centre.

Went and visited family

At first the hotel was hard to find because they do not give an exact address, then they phone number in the email did not work. So it took a good hour to find the place even though it shouldnt have been. Although a great hotel with great interior the rooms were quite small for American standards. The bathrooms were even smaller, there was barely room to stand in the bathrooms. Also, the detergents they used for th towels had a nasty smell to that. Apart from that it was a great location and was very clean rooms. Maybe if i had upgraded to a bigger room we would have found a bigger bathroom.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The city is an easy bus ride away from the hotel, though the hotel itself is not in a great location...and it is an expensive taxi ride from the airport. I was only there for one night, and it was perfectly adequate for what I needed...friendly staff and clean.

went to visit family-hotel was very adequate
