Hotel Fuerte Grazalema4.0 out of 5.0

This hotel is located outside the main town and is great if you have transport. You can in short drive spans go to Grazalema, Benamojama, El Bosque and Zahara de la Sierra. All these are worthy of exploring including the hiking routes. The hotel has an out door pool and the food and restaurant are excellent in terms of variety and quality and it's all you can eat! This said those of you who don't eat much might consider it Expensive. Breakfast was euro/person but every morning it's the same but has variety. The other good thing is that at a 2 minute walk of the main entrance there is a bar restaurant although we also tried it and it was 50/50. The services are really good and the staff are really helpful and responsive. This said we found that the hotel is really busy and there seems to be waiting times for restaurants or bar etc. The downfalls are that dogs are restricted in many places throughout the hotel and this is not specified in their advertising. We also had to pay extra for the dogs in our room something ridiculous in principle. Not really pet friendly I'm afraid!!!!! Last but not least the Internet wifi was rubbish!!!!!!!!!!
Lovely quiet hotel with all rooms and restaurant overlooking the valley and mountains. Lovely outdoor pool ( unheated) with the same views. Ground floor rooms open out onto garden with table and chairs. Amazing choice of breakfast buffet with every choice imaginable of milks and juices. Buffet dinner was good but not for anyone wanting a quiet meal. Will definitely return.
We stayed at Hotel Fuerte Grazalema for 3 nights. Our experience was excellent. The hotel is situated in beautiful surroundings! Everything was clean, beds were very comfortable and the breakfast was very good. The staff was also kind and helpful.
This is a nice hotel, but we were very disappointed in a few things. We booked it months ago and prepaid. We were given a room with a obstructed view right by the lobby. Very loud! A buffet dinner was included in our rate. A "Kids Club" was eating the same time we were. They were loud, running around the dinning room and picking up food from the buffet and putting it back down when they did not want it. Checking out took over 20 minutes. The couple in front of us was getting hiking directions, only one lady at the desk. We felt like she was taking her time because she was the one we ask to change rooms. The views are great, but bring your ear plugs.
Location was great. Will have to deviate a little from the Ronda - Seville route to Grazalema but its worth the time. The reception is on third floor which is where you reach because the hotel is on a slope. We got a room on the ground floor/or first, whatever you call it, with direct access to the pool/backyard overlooking the Grazalema village. Its beautiful. The breakfast was the best we had in Spain over a week. The restaurant is a bit expensive for buffet - depending on how you look at it - but a few minutes drive to the village offers plenty of options. Highly recommended for anyone driving through this Ronda - Seville route or anyone who prefers to have some quite time.
The hotel has spacious rooms with private balconies that provide spectacular views over the valley, and the village of Grazalema, about an hours walk from hotel,or a 10 mins drive. All areas in the hotel have free wifi . Ideal for hiking, cycling,or just relaxing. Excellent food and service. We could not praise the staff enough, nothing was to much trouble.
We were looking for a relaxing break in beautiful countryside and found it here. The weather at the end of October was warm making it a lovely stay. The service was excellent. The pool very cold! The food is as described in previous reviews we enjoyed it but don't expect high end dining, this is good food buffet style. It suited 2 teenagers perfectly. The view from the terrace will stay with me for a long time Recommended!
My wife and and I stayed for one night so that we could do a couple of walks in the area. We were allowed to check in early then given the advise how to walk into the village. That evening a nice drink on the terrace overlooking the village (5 kms away) and a very nice buffet dinner in the restaurant. We had twin beds as requested with a nice view and a little balcony. Beds were very comfortable and we had a great nights sleep. Buffet breakfast was also very good and we were on our way. There is also a swimming pool and a little farm where several types of farm animals are kept.
We stayed here for 2 nights while visiting the pueblos blancos and hiking in the area. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. Our room was on the 3rd floor which has a view of the mountains and the town of Grazalema. It was very comfortable with a nice balcony and a fabulous king size bed. Got an excellent sleep there because it's so quiet.
Great value for money, room spacious very clean in impeccable condition, bathroom ample size with good sized bath. Staff polite and helpful. Very peaceful, surrounded by countryside. Jaccuzzi and pool; jaccuzzi with time for under 12s limited to 30 minutes every 2 - 3 hours which I think is a great idea. Pleasant gardens inhabited by the "tamest" wild rabbits I´ve ever met! Mini zoo for children. We walked from the hotel to Grazalema via a roman road and then had breakfast in Grazalema, which was fun. Many routes for ramblers, and you can hire a bike for €15 a day as there is a great route for ciclista too. The contents of the mini bar were a gift from the hotel. They can also organize entry into the Alcornocales park if you wish. Wi-fi available free.
