This place was designed for skiers. Modern, but bare wood decor. Plenty of storage areas. A major ski lift is located just across the street. Bar is nice - wine good. People were friendly and helpful. Place provides FREE transport to the train station which is about a mile and a half away. Too far to walk with luggage across the frozen lake. When we arrived they offered us a deal on meals. If you eat every dinner every night of your stay there - the price is about $10 less per person. Well, I thought that was just a scam so I declined. IF YOU GO THERE - TAKE THIS DEAL. Prices in St. Moritz are high. So we ate there two of our three nights. Meals are preset. Usually a Meat or Fish Main course is offered. There waiter was very professional - The food was great. the breakfasts' were as good as the dinners. You can have eggs and bacon if you want.
We spent two precious nights in this lovely place. Perfect location to reach the ski resort & the village itself. Romantic and cute decorated with a eye to the small details. Crossing the small river on the wooden bridge and you feel like at home. Thanks to the exceptional, courteous and empathic hotel personnel we could enjoy our stay to the fullest with best recommendation for restaurants in and around the village. Thank you. We stayed 3 nights at this hotel. The class of the hotel from our perspective was very good, especially as it is rated 3 stars. Our initial welcome and continued good service from Maik in reception deserves special mention, he is an attentive, efficient and friendly receptionist. We recommend taking the daily breakfast at the hotel, the full buffet is very good, service excellent and the dining room spacious and pleasant. We were skiing: this hotel is perfectly situated less than 100m walk from ‘St Moritz Bad’ cable car to go up mountain, and you can ski down right to the hotel. The hotels here seem to have partnerships with other hotels and businesses. We were able to ski (ski pass) for half price, and also gained access to the sauna at a neighbouring hotel for free - a welcome ‘wind down’ after a day’s skiing! We will definitely consider staying again! Recommended!
My girlfriend and I could not be more pleased with our experience at Hotel Nolda. We came to ski, and the slopes end literally at the front door; there is a lift a 1 minute walk away. The service was great. We had to book last minute after a snowstorm changed our plans, and they were perfectly accommodating, even allowing us a glance at a few rooms so we could take our pick and upgrade at a low cost. They gave us tons of great tips for the best snowboarding and skiing, renting gear, and scheduling lessons, as well as getting around town and catching busses. Luckily we were there during the slow season which allowed for some flexibility. They were kind enough to allow us to check out late so that we could finish our day of skiing before packing up and catching our train. Nolda also has a fantastic menu for a delicious dining experience. We can’t recommend it enough! We sincerely hope to return someday.
Spent this Christmas at Hotel Nolda, it was the first white Christmas my partner and I have had, the staff at Hotel Nolda were lovely, spoke and understood English (which made our lives a lot easier!) We had breakfast at the hotel every morning and also Christmas dinner. Would definitely recommend staying here, it was quite affordable for the time of year and location (right next to a cable car) Memorable Christmas, one we won't forget! Special thanks to the restaurant manager and front desk (both lovely gentlemen!) If we can we'll be back!
We booked AND PAID for a room at this hotel 6 months prior to our visit on July this year. Due to ‘their’ error they overbooked and sent our reservation to a neighbouring hotel, with no views or ‘Swiss ambience’. This practice should be outlawed where rooms have been booked and paid for in advanve
We stayed at the hotel for four nights, we found it excellent value, and the staff were fantastically helpful and pleasant. The room was small and cosy, and we had a couple of problems as we found temperatures in the hotel too high, and we had a problem with the bathroom which we decided to live with but advised them to fix it for the next client. We solved the bedroom temperature problem by keeping the window open and the radiator off, but be warned, when using the restaurant, don’t over dress. Without asking, we received a discount on the bill because of the bathroom problem, which we thought was top class customer relations. The cost of everything in Switzerland is very high, and so we thought that Fr.37 for the three course evening meal was not unreasonable, and were very pleased to find that if we specified half board the cost was reduced to Fr.30. We thoroughly enjoyed the dinners; you are asked to select the main course at breakfast, and we would recommend you take advantage of the opportunity. The choice at breakfast was excellent, and if you want eggs of any description, just ask. To get the best value out of a trip to St Moritz, you need to do a bit of research and ask some questions, probably best addressed to the hotel. We found that by staying more than two nights we had free passes that allowed us to use all the local buses and trains and all the lifts up into the mountains; this is tremendous value but obviously only for the low season, but a great way to see the area. Transport in Switzerland is of course top-class, and with a bit of research, you will find plenty of buses take you the few minutes from the hotel into the town centre, the railway station, or beyond. If you’re staying at the hotel for more than a night or two, if asked, they will even provide taxis to and from the railway station for free!
Had a lovely one night stay at Hotel Nolda. The staff were very friendly and did everything they could to make our stay memorable. Our room was small but comfortable. The hotel is about a five to ten minute walk from restaurants, the lake foreshore and shops. The wifi was free but the connection was not secure so I would recommend appropriate software on your device to prevent any issues. While the hotel's restaurant was quite expensive, the food was of a very high standard and was very tasty. The hotel is some distance from the train station but there is a public bus service available for about three euros one way. My only negative that the reception had stated there was a special arrangement with taxi's from their hotel to the train station for a flat €12. After exiting the taxi at the train station, despite assurances from reception staff we were charged €15. The taxi driver had stated that since we had not paid at reception before departing the deal would not be honoured. It was the only sour note of our stay.
Free parking right in front of hotel. Friendly and polite receptionist. Sound of ringing cow bell can be heard from the room the whole night because there is a cow pasture right beside the hotel. The room and bathroom are very small.
For some this hotel will be located too far from the centre of St Moritz which in itself is very small but with six bus lines running through Signalbahn Station it was actually a great choice. The number 3 bus terminates here and at the HBF and travels through the middle of town but number 6 was equally good. Best thing about the hotel was the Engadin travel card they give you for staying two nights or more which gave us free cable cars (did three) and free extensive bus travel even out of town saving us a fortune on getting up to the mountains. The hotel itself is situated at the base of Signalbahn cable car and during winter can ski right back to the hotel. We forked out a little extra and got a balcony overlooking the stream as cable car and would do this again. Only gripes included the wifi which constantly need logging in after inactivity and really needs to change to a better system and the lack of tea/coffee maKing in the room. A simple breakfast was included and this was a good start to the day it the pleasant breakfast room. Highly recommended especially if staying two nights or more.
