The breakfast was excellent for continental. Property has huge deferred maintenance. There were dirty tissues and other debris under the bed and the ceiling light didn’t work. The location is excellent. Parking on site.

I was very nervous after reading the reviews but we had a great stay. It's nothing fancy but the staff was great, the room had a beautiful view and it served its purpose. This location alone is worth the price we paid, which you're not going to find cheaper in Grand Marais. I mean, you're next door to World's Greatest Doughnuts! Maybe we just got lucky with our specific room but I think alot of the people in these reviews expected a 5 Star resort and just love to complain, but you get what you pay for! I would stay again!

It has a great location. It is an older building with some need of repair. My room was nice and clean. The staff were friendly. The continental breakfast was satisfactory. I would staying there again.

We have stayed here multiple times over the past 15-20 years. The staff members were helpful and friendly.The Shoreline is an older hotel and has become a bit worn, but it is a good bargain for Grand Marais: comfy bed, quiet, safe, and right on the beautiful shoreline of Lake Superior.

Location was great. The room was not clean. Ceiling in our room was old office style panels with one old fluorescent light bulb working, and water stains. Spider webs in windows. Fan had not been cleaned in sometime.

Outdated and in rough condition

Needs major updates. Ceiling in hallway was leaking and carpet was wet and stained badly. No elevator. One accessible plug in bedroom. Great location and patio overlooking the lake. The whole place seems like it should be closed down fo a major update.

There were crusty parts on the floor. Pretty sure in the room there was dried blood. The whole faucet would come out while trying to wash my hands. Missing a window screen so we weren’t able to open a window to try and air out the room when it got hot. I have video documentation. My tv was being held up by a rock.. There were stains on the sheets.

This place is pretty run down. Besides just being dated, the bed was uncomfortable, the bathroom floor was sticky, and the door could see light through the side with the security device also being broken. Icing on the cake was the credit card fee thrown on at the end. The positive is the location is great and view out the back was great. It pretty much ends there, though.

Excellent location right in the middle of the Grand Marais with easy access to everything! Welcomed our service dog with no issues; 2 complaints: blackout curtain doesn't cover all of window; beds are a bit too soft and uncomfortable Overall, had a nice stay for our 2 nights
