Dr.Carr's Cabin, brought to you by Mountain Vacation Lodging, is a truly special home. Nestled above Shadow Mountain Lake, amongst the pines, this cozy cabin provides the perfect setting for a dream vacation. This home is a log cabin, but it is not small, dark, or dingy. This cabin has the furnishings and finishes of a high end home. When it comes to furniture, decor, linens, kitchenware, and so much more, the investments made by this property's ownership are evident and numerous. This kitchen is equipped for the chef in your group. With two ovens, a coffee station, a very large fridge, top of the line cutlery, pots and pans, we know guests will be pleased. The home has 3 bedrooms, but 4 sleeping areas. Dispersed among 3 floors, each bedroom has a SmartTV. The primary bedroom suite even has a SmartTV in the bathroom! There is also an open loft overlooking the living room which includes a king sized sleeper sofa, a Twin day bed and a built-in desk, for those who need to put in a few hours of work.. There is a washer and dryer, outdoor dining, multiple decks, a gas grill, a wood burning firepit and views across lakes all the way to the alpine peaks of Rocky Mountain National Park. This home is just far enough away from town to feel secluded, yet only a few minutes drive to Shadow Mountain Lake and about 10 minutes from downtown Grand Lake and the entrance to the National Park.

Arrival, Access, and Parking: – Accessing the Property – From the driveway guests will have one step up to reach the front door on the ground level. Within the home there are two full flights of stairs, one from the ground level to the main level and another from the main level to the loft. – Parking – Parking for multiple cars is available in the driveway. There is also room for a single trailer. Please reach out prior if you are planning on bringing a trailer so we can make sure it'll fit in the driveway. Parking on the street is prohibited. – 4 Wheel Drive / All Wheel Drive or vehicles with chains may be required to access this property when traveling during snow and winter weather conditions. The home is up on a hill, off of a private road. Sometimes the plows get to private roads slower than others so guests should be prepared for winter driving conditions. In summer months, when the road is dry, a front wheel 2WD car should have no problem getting you to and from the property.

Very cozy cabin. Very comfortable beds. Great deck with an awesome gas fire pit. Well stocked kitchen except for no pancake griddle. Had to make one pancake at a time. Good communication with host. Did have to pay 25 a day extra for our small dog to go with us. Would stay there again.

Lovely family get together with Senior parents, and our son/daughter spouses and one grandbaby, 1 dog. Great FIND with plenty of room for 3 adult rooms/beds and toddler/dog friendly. What we loved!View was inspiring. Table that seats 6 adults. Surprisingly rare on VRBO. Plenty of room to eat together and play games, do art, etc…Kitchen is a gourmet top of the line setup. We love to cook and has everything needed at hand. The pots/pans/cookware are excellent. The eating dishes have incurred damage from VRBO usage. Several cracked/chipped plates and saucers. Night time at the firepit with family to tell stories and just be quiet. Far enough to feel like we were in the woods…yet close enough to make use of the facilities. Plenty of wood. The outdoor gorgeous firepit on the deck was not usable awaiting a part for repair. We hope to experience that next time. Beds very comfortable with lovely upscale sheets, bathroom towels fluffy. We were there in summer…easy to find and drive to. Thank you for an unforgettable memory with our family!

If you are looking for an absolutely stunning and accommodating place to stay that is under five minutes from Shadow Mountain Lake, look no further. This home is beautiful in every respect. Stunning!! The beds are comfortable, the living room is inviting and comfortable, the kitchen is amazing with everything you need to cook and grill! The outdoor deck is a treasure in every way!! We will return again and again! I am a very particular vacation home renter and this one gets a full star rating in all respects. The communication for any needs could not have been better. Look no further! You found a home that goes above and beyond in every respect!!!! PS. We were very lucky and had two moose walk through the property!!!!

70th Birthday Celebration
We gathered with family and friends (including 2 dogs) to celebrate my 70th birthday. Dr. Carr's cabin was the perfect size for our party and is located ideally for enjoying all 3 lakes in the area. Cozy Cabin in Granby
We loved staying at this property. It is a very well appointed cabin with plenty of space. The youngest in our family loved the loft and our older teens enjoyed having the main level to call home for the week we stayed. The primary suite is wonderful with large windows and a great bathroom. The kitchen + living area is beautiful with a epic view and a well stocked gourmet kitchen. We enjoyed hanging out together by the fire and watching it snow.
