Went to Mauritius alone to celebrate my 31st birthday. I had the best experience at the hotel! The staff and management went out of their way to make my birthday dinner a special and memorable one. Top class service and the hotel was very clean👌🏾

We have been to some beautiful places and hotels but this one beats the lot. Right from arriving at the hotel we have never felt so welcome as we did here. The staff bend over backwards to keep you happy and looked after. The food was absolutely great whether it was in the Italian, Asian or the buffet. Must mention Reevoo the beach manager couldn't do enough for you, cleaning your sunglasses, remaking your sun lounger while you were swimming. Also the four girls who kept us laughing all the time (sorry I can't remember their names). I would recommend anybody to go there it was such a great holiday. Hopefully will return one day.

Traveled on the 30th April for 2 weeks , went on the Thomson dreamliner in their premium club, reasonable flight but i thought that the in flight entertainment was sadly lacking and needs to be updated or changed. Cabin service was good and arrived at Mauritius airport a trifle early. Straight off the plane and through immigration and health, and so to the baggage carousel, cases arrives within 5 mins ( another advantage of premium club ) but were ominously soaking wet on the outside, on exiting customs i managed to have a look outside at the weather, absolutely pouring down, picked up taxi and had a good drive to the hotel. Checked in quickly and were then lead by one of the reception staff along a maze of rear corridors to the Superior sea vies rooms overlooking the middle bay. although the vast majority of this journey was undercover still managed to get quite wet despite the umbrella we had been issued with. Room OK, i know that they are having a massive refurb but the room only needed a little TLC and basic maintenance to be 1st class. Unfortunately it rained and rained and rained for our first 5 fays (not the hotels fault i know but very little to or places to go, apart from your room when the weather is inclement.) Food almost as good as last year with the kitchen, (buffet), outscoring the other restaurants, I thought that the menu at the Beach was inferior to last year Service generally excellent, apart from the Bar, where the majority of the work appeared to be being done by one or 2 young ladies, whilst the male staff only seemed to want to congregate around the computer terminal talking ??? Needs some swift action buy supervisory staff, but despite complaining nothing seemed to be done. Viewed the upgraded rooms that are on show, and they seemed very nice if a bit "glitzy" but not sure if they will be worth the 78% increase in cost that the staff were mentioning All in all a good holiday at a good hotel with by and large excellent service Service on the flight back was abysmal with one male steward trying to service the entire premium club cabin on this own had to wait 45 mins for a cold drink which i though to be unacceptable. i feel that this coupled with the extremely early departure time may make us think twice about Thomson and possibly use another carrier

This was a holiday booked for my retirement. It has to be one of the best we have ever stayed at. The rooms were excellent. The all important beach was superb. The bar and bar entertainment amazing. The bar staff were chatty, funny but professional. The restaurants served exceptional food, local and worldwide options. It was the staff that made so much of the difference always there to help but not in the way. The hotel seemed to be run very efficiently but without any fuss. I would definitely return BUT.......... On our leaving the hotel was being closed for refurbishment and having now looked at the new prices for the same time next year we certainly cannot afford to return. Shame.

We arrived late at night so the next morning when we woke up we were amazed by the beautiful destination. The staff is super friendly, the beach is amazingly beautiful. I love their eye for detail on every little thing they do from their coffee bar, ice cream car, to the mist they spray on your face just before you enter the breakfast lounge. You have between 4-5 restaurants to choose from on the resort make sure you do your booking in advance. Lots to do for the kids. I can't wait to go back and see what they going to look like after the renovations. Highly recommend the place!

Once you've been to this property, other properties seem dull & boring. Very good rooms, excellent staff & Service. This hotel has all the activities in it, if you like sail, kayak or Surf or Water Ski, this resort has it all. if you wanna just lay back and relax, its got Wonderful Spa, a Mini Golf course, a private beach or A jetty. just walk towads the end of the hotel & enjoy Silence.. There are many things to do in this Resort But all you would do is Eat Sleep Party Repeat !!!

After weeks of researching resorts i booked LUX on a room only basis for 4 night 5 days with my partner, another couple and their child (4yrs old) I cannot express how excellent this resort is, please do not let any negative comments put you off. we were skeptical regarding the weather but we had 1/2 rainy days and the rest were hot and lovely in which i simplified lounged on the beach, drunk ate and swam... pure relaxation! yes the hotel is being renovated but this did not affect my stay at all! so i would love to re book to see what the new design is like. upon arrival we were greeted by Joanne who is just lovely, really bubbly and welcoming. We decided to upgrade to all inclusive upon arrival and were happy with how flexible LUX were and boy we were not disappointed with this decision! the team were great with how they treat children, our little man was greeting with a milkshake whilst we checked in and a goodie bag, a list of activities which was great for his parents as they could ensure he was kept entertained. Our rooms 7059 was spacious and clean and had a lovely bath tub in the middle, the toiletries provided are lush this is the first time i have used the hotels toiletries and they were kind enough to give me there mango and papaya soap to take home as i loved it so much! the rooms are not out of this world but they are lovely and for people that have complaints about the rooms all i can say is get out of your room and go enjoy the beautiful resort! there are 3 restaurants in the resort as well as the buffet, we tried the italian and seafood which were both lovely and included in the all inclusive. the buffet was great and really i have no complaints for food, we also had a child with us ashe ate like a king every day. the beach and pool are great, i did not have any trouble getting a lounger and the service from the staff is the best i have ever received, they are so helpful and set your towel on the loungers, come around with menus for drinks and bring food to you on the beach (cocktail are out of this world). there is an adult only beach section but i did not visit this part as we had a child and tbh in may the resort was not really busy so it was nice and peaceful! what makes this hotel especial are the little touches, there is a LUX cafe in reception which is included in the all inclusive, the coffees are fab with little treats also included, there is an icecream van - delicious homemade ice cream which is included. everyone is happy, smiling and attentive. there are activities such as snorkeling, canoeing, water skiing and glass bottom boat trip which are also included in the all inclusive which is just great! we participated in the poker tournament night in which i won and the hotel were kind enough to let me pick my prize in which i opted for a back massage from the ME SPA, again i was not disappointed. the spa is small, clean and beautiful and there is a sauna steam, dipping pool and jacuzzi which is available for guests (as well as a gym and games room) other touches which stood out was the game's such a 'message in a bottle' - the resort hides glass bottles with prizes every morning and we played the game and won! things like this i have never experienced in a hotel which juts made it oh so special and fun for all ages! and also i have to mention the beautiful wish tree, this is just so amazing and i wrote my wish and tied it too the tree, let's hope i wish the 5 days all inclusive prize! fingers crossed! i honestly could write pages and pages, i just want to thank LUX for making our stay so special and apologies as i cannot remember everyone's names but each and everyone of you contributed to making this holiday so magical for us! i cannot wait t return and experience your hospitality again!

Cosy and intimate with a Zen-like feel, the thatched roofs contrast with LUX’s signature soothing whites and splashes of colour, and cool lighting by night. Crescents of low rise Mediterranean-style ivory villas dripping with bougainvillea – with matching hot pink towels on sun loungers – cradle the curves of two bays. LUX’s imaginative touch is reflected in a guitarist playing ‘Let it Be’ at breakfast, literary readings in the library over a glass of wine and stargazing with an astronomer on the beach

We arrived in the early hours of the morning on a damp and dreary day. However the sun came out as soon as we arrived at this stunning hotel. The staff had laid out a selection of sandwiches and snacks with beverages on our arrival. The hotel is stunning, i cannot believe it has now been closed for a refurb as the standard was ridiculously high already! We were slightly concerned the refurb might affect our stay; lack of staff, building work and generally not having the level of attention to detail. However this was definitely not the case. The holiday, hotel, food and staff were flawless. We had the most amazing room with a view over the cove, it was beautifully clean and stylish and it even had a hot tub bath looking over the ocean! The restaurants served delicious meals. We ate breakfast at the buffet kitchen every morning, there was a large array of choices including freshly made omelettes to order. At lunch we ate either at the Banyan island kitchen or the bar. Both serving great food catering for everyone. In the evening we ate at the Beach or the Abalone every night apart from our special romantic private dining meal. The Beach served gorgeous tasty Italian cuisine and the Abalone serving delicious authentic Mauritian food. We engaged with lots of the water activities and thoroughly enjoyed the snorkelling and catamaran most of all. The sea was gorgeous to swim in and a wonderful escape from the amazing weather we had. The bands in the evenings were great entertainment and did a brilliant job getting everyone up and dancing. The bar staff were all on the ball and soon as you were half way through your drink they were taking your order for your next. I also really enjoyed the artistic activities on offer! I honestly could not fault this amazing holiday in anyway and urge that you definitely go when it reopens as it'll only be better!

Booked this for our wedding anniversary. Was a first for us as we had been here some 11 years ago under different ownership and have never previously returned to a hotel as we like to see new things. Although the prior memories weren't great i think that was mostly weather related as we travelled in March which is I understand the wet season. This time couldn't have been more different. The venue is beautiful - the hotel is set around the tip of a small peninsula so there are several outlooks and a choice of beach venues all of which are lovely. The gardens are lovely and there are little things scattered around making it special - our favourite being the wish tree where people have written out wishes and then tied them to a beautiful tree in the gardens. Our room was very pleasant with sea views and a nice veranda in good condition and well maintained. There is excellent watersport facilities with many sailing boats paddle boards kayaks and pedaloes. Fort he more adventurous diving, waterskiing and even their own floatplanes. in addition there is a nice gym 4 tennis courts ping pong and a room with pool table and foosball /playstation for the younger at heart. The staff at the Spa were wonderful and we made use of this several times during our stay The food was excellent - there are 2 a la carte restaurants an Italian and an asian based but the main buffet restaurant served most excellent food every night which can be unusual in my experience. However the most important aspect was the staff- without exception friendly helpful welcoming and cannot do enough for you. Just as examples we had beach staff offering sunglass cleaning one day and cucumber slices for tired eyes another - just small touches but make a difference. Main touch for us was Deepak the sous chef who despite my misunderstanding of the timing, much to my embarrassment made a personal dinner one night fort he two of us to celebrate our anniversary including a cake which was absolutely delightful. Suffice to say there is every chance that we would break our traditionand return again to this place although they were closing to refurbish. Cant wait as i stayed in places much more in need of updating.
