Ideal hotel convenient for access to walk to the City centre, for shopping and eating. Although 3 star we though facilities were good for this standard. We had a corner room which had 2 rooms one with a King size bed and other with normal double bed, plus bathroom.
We have stayed here several times and found the location excellent. The staff are very warm and welcoming and the rooms clean. It is well priced for its location with excellent parking facilities. Right next door to El Corte Ingles, with a 5 minute walk to all the sights in the centre of the city, Plaza Nueva, Albaycin and shopping.
A clean and modern hotel. Nicely furnished. The rooms are quite small but adequate and comfortable with a nice bathroom. Very comfortable bed. In a good position in the city centre but very quiet in the rooms. Would recommend this hotel.
Hotel Dauro is decent. Staff is friendly and the room is adequate. The bed is made of a foam like material and in my opinion was too soft. Breakfast which we ask to be included thru our travel agent is sufficient. It had the usual, cold cuts, pastries, cereals and toast. Overall, Hotel Dauro should suffice if all you are looking for is a place to sleep.
We arrived late in the evening for a few nights stay. Check in was swift and pleasant and a chap went outside and collected out car and parked it in the basement for our stay. The receptionist gave us a map of the city and highlighted a road full of bars and restaurants a few blocks away; I think the road is called Naves. Great tapas! The hotel room was large, clean and tidy and the bathroom was a good size with complimentary gels etc. The tv had the all important BBC World and we had a safe in the room. Breakfast was a reasonable affair with a mix of hot and cold available. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The hotel is on a main road, but it wasn't noisy. Turning right out of the hotel takes you to the main shopping area, about 5 minutes away. Then you are in the sightseeing area as well, and the walk to that is pleasant and safe. Another few hundred metres takes you to Plaza Isabel Catolica, which is where you catch the C3 bus €1.20 one way to the Alhambra.....unless you want a long uphill walk! I suggest the bus up and the walk down. I think it's recommended that you pre-book Alhambra tickets on the web some weeks before you go. You book on the web and collect tickets at the ticket office. The city is a two day experience and don't forget to go to St Nicolas church ( walking distance from the hotel) for amazing views of the Alhambra in the day and also illuminated in the evening! N.B. You get tapas with every drink in Granada which gets better with every drink you have in a bar! The hotel is in a great safe location and is a good 3 star hotel. It was recommended to us by friends and we would definitely use it again!
A good location, friendly and helpful staff, really good room. It was on the fourth floor though so be careful that the internet is really bad there. But other than that we have no complaints. Breakfast is also really good
I stayed two nights in Hotel Dauro, for a visit to Alhambra/ Granada. The location is super convenient, its a long the street that leads you to the shopping hub. The breakfast spread is basic, with yogurt, variety of breads, cereal, cheeses and cold cuts. The room was clean and well maintained, for a fairly mature hotel. There were no tea/ coffee making facilities in the room, pretty much the same as other hotels in Spain The hotel was booked by our tour agent
Well located with good rooms where all amenities work well. Acceptable breakfast included and the hotel has its own basement garage at a reasonable fee. Good value for money and would definitely stay again.
Just spent a week at a conference in Granada - this hotel is a short distance from the Palacio de Congresos. There is a supermarket across the road and many decent bars and restaurants within 5 minutes walk, the main Cathedral and other attractions are only 15 minutes away, and the Alhambra is doable if you don't mind the hill. So a pretty good location. The staff were helpful enough, the breakfast was reasonable, and the bed was comfortable. On the downside, there was, how can I say, some biological evidence of the room's previous occupant when I checked in, and the rooms are looking a little tired (my shower screen leaked profusely). And the room I had was not big - 2 people may well struggle to get around each other, and I had trouble working out where to set up the ironing board (had to push the bed to one side). So to summarise - average facilities, good location, good sleep.
We were at the mercy of our booking company (European Destinations) and we were pleased with Hotel Dauro. Great location - within easy walking distance to our scheduled walking tours and our Alhambra tour bus stop. If you are looking for a first class hotel this is not the place but if you want a clean comfortable hotel, good staff and a good breakfast this is a great selection. We had an easy walk to everything from restaurants, to Catholic church, to shopping and like many places in central Granada nice views of the Alhambra. WE had no problems and found the hotel met all our needs for our two days in Granada.
