The hotel is traditional in style and could be a little bit updating but the hotel is set in beautiful grounds and well kept. The staff were brilliant. Nice views of the dunes and sea from our room. Ideally situated for both the Yumbo Centre and the beach and dunes. A quiet spot to relax.

This hotel is the best we have been to, it has everything you require. The location food and staff are exceptional. Nothing is to much trouble for the excellent waiters and personal what work there. We will definitely be going back in the near future.

Fabulous hotel and amazing food. This is our 10th visit as a family and have been visiting here for over 10 years now. We (husband and I), stayed in a 2 bed garden villa that was amazing with our 9 year old, 2 teenagers (17 years) had a twin bedroom hotel room and mother in law the same room type. Could not fault anything with the accommodation or food. The staff, gardens, cleanliness were all as you would expect in a five star and every meal is totally amazing in the buffet restaurant. My only complaint is in all 5 pools the children are not allowed inflatables - my 9 year old was really disappointed after we'd bought him a ring to use in the pool and other children felt this disappointment too during our 2 week holiday. the evening entertainment is quite dull and repetitive. Although I've been staying at this hotel for many years, this year I felt the 'extras' that made this hotel worth the premium price was t worth it. In years gone by there used to be chocolates left on beds at sleep time, magic shows for evening entertainment, pool side fashion shows, a play park (which has gone) etc. And just a tip : although NOTHING to do with the hotel we booked a day excursion with our tour operator TIU and it was cancelled but we're not told. We paid 350 euros for 6 people to do the africat trip arrived at 2pm only to be told it had been cancelled the night before and out rep hadn't told us! I'd recommend booking directly in future

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 7 days from 31/07/17 to 07/08/17 and loved every minute of it. Before we went we thought it looked a little bit of a place for older people (we're in our 50's), but this isn't true, there were young families with children, young couples, gay couples and elderly couples. The hotel is absolutely lovely and the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The food in the restaurant was fantastic with plenty of options for everyone, no matter what your taste and food intolerances or allergies. The main restaurant is buffet which allows you to pick and choose things you might not normally eat, but gives you the chance to try them. There is also the opportunity to dine 'a la carte', but given the options in the buffet section, we declined that option. Our room was very nice, but I found my bed (there were two single beds) very hard and uncomfortable. I put up with it for two nights then decided to ask if they had such a thing as a mattress topper. I was told "no problem, which bed is it and we'll have that sorted by the time you have had your meal", which is exactly what happened. Very impressed with this service. The hotel is situated right on the sand dunes which are amazing. A must is to walk out onto the dunes in the evening to watch the sun set, it's a lovely experience with beautiful views. During the day the sand is extremely hot so finding the shortest route possible to cross the dunes to get to the sea is a must. The sand is much cooler in the evening so that's the best time to walk out onto them and get some fantastic photo's. I would recommend this hotel to everyone as it was the whole package. Good food, accommodation, staff and surroundings. If you want a party atmosphere this is not the place. If you want a bit of class that's not far from a party atmosphere, this is the perfect place. Enjoy.

We arrived back early Sunday 13th from a slendid holiday at Riu Palace. I've never written a review before but feel compelled to share. If you're reading this before booking ( as we all do) don't delay, just book, you won't be disappointed. The hotel isn't all sleek clean lines, modern minimalist, and characterless as we've grown accustomed to, so I understand why some younger customers have described it as dated. It has an old colonial charm which is actually refreshing and very different. We ended up with really awful travel times, but it saved us over £600 so we took them, flying from Manchester. That was another bonus, even though Birmingham is much closer to us as its a small, compact airport without the distances to walk between parking, terminals and internal points. We couldn't get a taxi to and from airport so my local Tui travel agent recommended the Meet & Greet service.....brilliant advice and 1/3 of the cost of taxi and 2 mins walk from terminal. So we arrived at about 3am to the Riu Palace, greeted and settled by a lovely gentleman on front desk. We were a party of 6, husband & I, late 40s, 3 girls, twins of 14, and an 18 year old and My Mum who is 79. Had a double, single and triple room. All the same, except number of beds, 3rd bed squeezed in a little so we removed some of the surplus furniture to the very spacious balcony. A complementary plate of fruit and bottle of fino in each room. Mini bar stocked up. The breakfasts were your normal buffet affairs with a vast, vast choice. There really was plenty for every taste. There are two pool areas, both lovely, one clearly quieter than other. Plenty of sun beds, even though there's the normal towel over bed at the crack of dawn thing going on it was needless as by 11 am you still managed to get a spot or two where you could get 6 beds together in some configuration. The pool is manned all day by attendants, on towel swop and cushion issue duties. You keep your towel and get to swop it for fresh between 8.30-11 daily. The pool bar staff, who were very efficient are constantly walking round taking drink and food orders all day. The pool food is excellent, we only ate on last day and Mum had a couple of salads during the week, but for 10€ you can have a lovely meal. You choose one of 2 evening meal slots 6.30 or 8.30pm and whichever you pick on your first night you stick to it. We went in and spoke to the restaurant manager around 6 pm to let him know our chosen time, this clearly was not the done thing as he was surprised for us to be there so early, but no matter he was polite, professional, showed us where we'd be seated that night and explained that this was our set table every night but that in the mornings you could sit anywhere. He was a delight and made us feel comfortable and welcome even though our visit was not necessary. The evening meals were something else, the food was completely wonderful. Again loads of options and all so different and beautifully presented. Praise must be given in abundance to the small army of ladies and gentlemen who clean and Maintain the hotel. It is without doubt the cleanest place I have ever stayed. They work relentlessly to keep everything spotless. I'm a bit peculiar about hygiene, but there was not one thing I could criticise, from the pool area, toilets, gardens, corridors, and of course your own rooms, it was faultless. They start early, so if you do not want to be disturbed remember to put your red notice on your door handle. If you want them to clean daily, change beds and towels they will if the appropriate notice is left out for them. Finally in my seemingly endless gush of praise, the staff. Now, I'm not a gullible fool. Clearly when in the tourist industry, the more pleasant you are, the better the rewards, and I'm not one of those who enjoys getting to know all the waiters names and thinks they are best buddies by the end of the week! In fact, I can't remember any names ...... But from the lovely lady who cleaned my room every day to the guy who carried the sun bed cushions for me, to the beautiful ladies who bought us drinks around the pool to my family, the wonderful waiters at meal times, the chefs and ladies and gents serving and prepping food in the restaurant, to the smiley happy porter and the efficient, polite reception staff, just everybody was absolutely so lovely and made us feel special and were so genuine about it. Can it be possible that an entire workforce can be all so completely pleasant and great at their job???!!!! We were blown away. There were a few teeny weeny points to make, you will have to take your own hairdryer as the ones in the room really are poor. We missed tea and coffee making facilities, simply because we're so used to them, but as we never spent above an hour in our room during the day that didn't last long. If you enjoy a lively pool area with loads of stuff going on then this is not the place for you, we did spend a lot of money on the Tui excursions which is essential for my family who need to be doing things, though Mum just wanted to relax by the pool all day, so for her the hotel was perfect. So, between the delights that Riu Palace Maspalomas offered us, the great excursions provided by Tui, the great morning walks across the dunes to the beach, the great water sports on offer further down the beach, just a 15 min walk we had a thoroughly brilliant holiday. It's definitely on my list for a revisit to this lovely hotel. For us, Faultless!

10/10 for staff - so professional and genuinely kind. Views from room 10/10 Location 10/10 Relaxing 10/10 Grounds of hotel 10/10 My friends and l will be returning. Really enjoyed this hotel because of the location and staff. And we totally relaxed.

Stayed at this hotel in 2013, and it was excellent ! Excellently situated over looking the sand dunes. Bedroom was great, with king size bed, and old colonial style wardrobes and fittings. I do hope that the Riu group haven't changed the rooms to the modern decor, which I personally don't care for. No adverse comments. Strolled through the hotel and walked down hotel's pathway to the dunes whilst on a recent visit to Maspalomas. Good memories of a very good stay. Note: This site only allows me to state travel date as far back as 2016, but my hotel stay was 2013.

The Riu Palace Maspalomas is a superb hotel, the staff are a credit to Riu, they make you feel so welcome from start to finish. We had a double sea view room with an amazing view over the famous sand dunes, room no 3057. The rooms are spotless and quiet with very comfortable beds. Excellent evening entertainment and great choice of food. All in all a superb holiday, would definitely recommend and we will return ☀️.
