We stayed here for one week and we're overall very happy with the hotel. We booked half board (breakfast and dinner). Dinner was excellent and there was a wide choice of food for all tastes. Breakfast is less good to be honest, especially if you are looking for a full English. Room was perfectly okay - we asked for one overlooking the pool a week before we arrived and we got one. Some rooms look the other way so I would recommend you call before you get there to make your preference. Safe in the room didn't work but everything else was great and we had a lovely bathroom. Cleaning of the bathroom was a bit hit and miss; sometimes dirty towels weren't replaced and we didn't get more soaps but this was a minor irritation It's right next to the Yumbo centre so location cannot be beaten from that perspective! Staff were all lovely and attentive. There is a small gym which was a nice bonus and the pool/lounge areas are excellent. Drinks at dinner are cheap but the drinks in the pool bar are expensive, so get these from a nearby supermarket and keep them cool with the fridge in your room I think it's worthy of 4* and I would stay again! Great hotel and good value for money
Got back from this hotel yesterday 22nd July 2017. From the minute we both walked in we were looked after, Complimentary Glass of Cava whilst checking in was a great start. The Room had everything we needed, great air conditioning, slept comfortably during the whole holiday, spacious with a balcony. The hotel itself was spotless, very clean. The staff were very nice and friendly, perfect location in terms of sun for the pool area from 8am-8pm the sun is over you. As we were all inclusive we made the most of the food and drink on offer. Food was great with lots of variety. Drinks were also good with choices of beer, spirits, wine and also cocktails. As this was our 3rd year in a row to Gran Canaria, we are very fond of the Yumbo Centre, the nightlife here is amazing with lots of restaurants, shops, bars and clubs, with this in mind we chose this as it was close, we were even happier that there is gated access that leads out straight into the Yumbo Centre, so location for us was brilliant. I'm sure in the future we will be coming back to this hotel. Fantastic service, Fantastic Hotel
Now into the 10th year of coming back here, there is nothing to add to the other glowing reports I have previously left. Returning guests are greeted like old friends. The porter, Ruben, helped us in with our bags and gave us a glass of Cava while we checked in. Our request for our favourite room was granted, which was an added bonus. The rooms were cleaned daily and new towels provided etc. The food, as always, was spot on. Although the buffet style set up & types of food may not be to everyones liking, there is not a single instance I can ever remember of not finding something to eat of an evening. There is always veg, salad, bread, pasta etc, even if you don't like the main meat or fish from the grill. There are also 4 or 5 other hot dishes to try out. Special mention must go to our attentive waiter, Paco and of course to Nani, the effecient and ever friendly breakfast chef who runs the bacon and egg section of a morning. Her ommlettes are amazing!! A couple of suggestions... other hotels also have porridge on offer at breakfast time. This would make a welcome addition to the Neptuno breakfast menu. And sometimes, the food is not clearly labelled as to what it is, or more importantly, what it contains. My friend is a vegetarian and luckily discovered the potato salad had sausage in it before he ate it. Thank you once again for an excellent stay. We are already looking forward to coming back soon.
Our stay at this hotel was pleasant, but nothing special. The welcome we got from Ruben the concierge was fantastic, but the receptionist on duty was pretty poor (sorry didn't get his name) at customer service and sadly this was the case every time we dealt with him. There's a small office area with details of excursions which you then book at reception, we only booked one with this receptionist as he made the whole procedure so slow and painful, and despite me (female) standing at the desk and doing the booking he chose to only address my partner (male) who was sitting on the sofas! Room was ok, clean, but very small. The cleaners came in every day, even if we put do not disturb on the door during their normal morning cleaning times they made sure they came back later when we were out. There was a day where they took our towels and didn't replace them though! Reception made sure the tell us the tea/coffee was complimentary, but it wasn't replaced so we only had 2 cups of coffee, Breakfast was lovely, always space to sit, great choice of food and the chef cooking the eggs and bacon was brilliant, so happy! We were half board but only sampled dinner twice as it was pretty mediocre. The table system doesn't work, as there's always a big queue to get a place for dinner, and drinks aren't included so you have to order with a waiter and they take an age to come. The location is great. 10-15 minutes right out of the hotel and you're at the beach. Right behind the hotel is the Yumbo centre which is brilliant for lovely food and great entertainment. There's a keycard door at the back of the pool which goes directly to the Yumbo, one the the drag queens we got friendly with advised us to avoid the small alleys which lead to/from the Yumbo late at night. The guests staying at the hotel were really friendly, everyone always says hello in the lifts and we got chatting to a few people at breakfast and round the pool. All the staff apart from the grumpy one on reception always say hello, and as I said, Ruben is fantastic, so helpful and cheery. There's a safe in the room that is reasonable to hire, free wifi and aircon, they provide room and pool towels and foam cushions for beside the pool which is a nice touch. There were always sunloungers available, even if it meant getting your own off a pile if you got there later in the day Neptuno is worth a stay, but if you're expecting 4* luxury it's not that at all, just an average place in a good location
I stayed with my other half at this hotel and I can't say enough positive things about our stay. Restaurant staff brilliant; especially Hillario who did everything to make sure my picky vegetarian fiancé was well looked after even making her a special vegetarian lasagna. The hotel staff in general were friendly and very helpful. The location is perfect between two lovely beaches; our favourite being the Playa beach about 5 mins away by car. You will be right next door to the Yumbo centre which boast a brilliant night life. I shall be taking my partner back here for her birthday.
Stayed here and the service was fantastic. Great atmosphere as solo traveller made to feel welcome. All staff friendly and go out of there way to support and advise. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will definitely be back again. One main issue, which I guess is hard for the staff to enforce , is that the German patrons which I'm guessing are there best customers are going to the pool area early and placing towels on all of the loungers. Unfortunately I didn't get to spend time by what looked like an amazing pool. Go down to the pool side restaurant, you won't be disappointed. Great Entertainment is on every night.
I have just returned from a week at the Neptuno hotel (July 2017). I booked the holiday very last minute and the hotel I picked upon reading the reviews online. Pretty much all the reviews online were truthful. It is a lovely hotel (pretty dated) but it was a great stay. The room was spacious and we had a balcony which was great. Out of all the meals I must say lunch is by far the best. All food is cooked fresh and upon our needs with waiter service. The dinner was nice the first day but then got a bit boring and not a huge amount of options. Pool was small but great and not to busy. Always got a pool bench which was great. Entertainment in the evening was good but started a bit late and would be good if it started around 8:30pm instead of 9:30-10pm. It is a very basic and lovely hotel and I would stay there again. mostly gay couples which was great for me and my friend and the hotel was walking distance from the jumbo so a perfect location. Couple changes I would recommend: * For Dinner you get given a table number to have every day. This seemed a bit pointless as most days people were siting at our table so we had to wait to be given a new table. It would be easier just to allow people to sit wherever, rather than having to stick to table numbers. * You have to order a drink which takes time. It would be easier having a drink pump in the restaurant so you can help yourself. All the staff were lovely and very happy and helpful. I would return to this hotel again for sure. Thank you
Just back home from this hotel. On arrival I was allocated a 4th floor room. Even though I had requested a lower floor room due to a lift phobia. Was advised none available as hotel was very busy. Although the dining room and pool were relatively quiet! Anyway the room was very good and we'll presented. Everything you needed. Inc Tea/Coffee making facilities. Also a bath robe and slippers. Excellent. TV sadly Just 2 English channels, but 7 German channels! (Yes I know. Not here to watch TV lol) Free Air-conditioning was also provided, which was very effective, as it was 33c most days it was a must. There is free WiFi, but it's very hit and miss. Evening meal was very disappointing. You get allocated a table,on either 1St sitting 6:30-8, or second @ 8:30-10, as dining room is relatively small. Food looked good, but was look warm at best. Chips were stone cold, as was the gravy! ( This place really needs a Microwave, or 2) Salad was OK,as was,the sweets. Drinks quite expensive. €2 for a small bottle of water with your meal. Also they operate a cashless system with your room card being charged. Be careful it soon mounts up. I was careful and it was still €48. Breakfast was worse. Everything was either warm or cold! Also if you wanted fresh cooked eggs, or Bacon, then you had to queue and wait and wait. Was it worth the wait? No. Yogurts cold meats and cheese all warm. Nothing chilled at all. Food used to be so good here. What has happened? Have heard several people also complain about the food. One couple round the pool said they had eaten out twice also. Due to,bad food. Staff on the other hand are excellent, especially the bell boy. He is charming. The location is great and yes if it's a good deal I would stay here again. (B&B) Otherwise for what they charge. "No" Another thing to note. Lots of road noise is evident 24/7. Also cleaning staff very noisy on all floors from early morning! Shame this used to be my goto in Playa, but not anymore sadly. (Stayed here 5 times) Really annoying , as great location and staff, but let down by bad food and road noise. On the search for a replacement in Playa now. Any ideas?
From the moment we arrived until the moment we left nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. Reception, Waiting, Kitchen and Door Staff only too happy to help. Spotlessly clean throughout. Great location. Highly recommend.
Spent 11 nights here and what a great holiday we had hotel was great from food to entertainment a massive plus was the staff they were amazing especially Marcus he was so funny all the staff were friendly funny and always very helpful and to top it off we met great people we will definitely be back
