We booked Hotel Exe Las Canteras as it was the only Hotel on the beach which had dates to suit. I was wary that we had done the wrong thing especially after reading other reviews. I booked direct with the Hotel and even though I thought we had a balcony and sea view when booking I was not too sure as the website did not confirm that. We arrived mid afternoon and did not have the sea view or balcony. However we were easily able to upgrade for what I thought was a good price. So. Sea view - check. Terrace - check. Looking good. The room was basic but clean and well appointed. No tea or coffee making facilities but that could be remedied with a travel kettle etc. Lovely views over Las Canteras beach. We were really glad we had upgraded as some of the other rooms appeared to have no view at all. The roof terrace is good if you are ok with communal sunbathing. Our terrace was perfect for us. Breakfast was very continental but each day there was scrambled eggs and Spanish bacon with either tomatoes, mini frankfurters or the Spanish croquettes. Lots of breads for toast, lots of cheeses, fruits, cold meats etc. all in all Good. The hotel is at the far end of the beach and not amongst the very touristy bit where the more expensive Hotels are but the walk along the prom is great and a good way of working up an appetite for a meal, a drink or just coffee and buns. we did not try the Spa but it looked good. Las Palmas is a great place, more Spanish than some of the other resorts and being the capital of the island there is lots to do. The hotel would benefit from a bar (there is one downstairs) and a café (there are lots on the prom) but really everything works well without these and the price is good. Staff all polite and friendly.
This is a small, modern hotel that overlooks the promenade. It's easy to get to most places on foot or local bus and there is a taxi rank outside the front door. The rooms are a good size, clean and well equipped: safe, TV, phone, minibar and free Wifi. It doesnt feel like a holiday hotel it comes over as a standard business hotel. There isn't a lounge or a bar to relax in and get to know your fellow guests for instance. Excellent breakfast buffet with lovely views of the beach. I enjoyed my stay
This is a de facto 3 star hotel, a bit dated. There's a decent breakfast but no bar or restaurant. The live-music place downstairs can feel noisy on weekends. We had a room on 8th floor with a sun terrace, sea view, no noise and good beds. The lift only goes 7 floors up though so after that you have to take the stairs. Most of the rooms have no view, so make sure what you book.
Stayed here after being diverted from Lanzarote. Lovely room clean and we'll presented. Only gripe was that the shower made the whole of the bathroom floor wet. Other than that a lovely room. Didn't eat here as checked in late and checked out early.
Hotel a little tired and could do with a little updating. Staff are great , very helpful and friendly. Breakfast well worth 7€ Sea view with terrace is a must. Spa was fine but again a little tired and a few things out of order hence the discount rate on offer 7€ without treatments All in all I was satisfied customer although at 200€ a night for a double room with sea view and terrace I think it was a little overpriced.
We had a double room with a sea view and a terrace and breakfast included (as booked in advance via the hotel website, which enabled more choice and better value than booking.com) We stayed 2 very enjoyable nights. The room and bathroom was spacious. The bed was enormous and very comfortable. There was a vast patio with sun loungers, table and chairs and still room for a party! The breakfast was excellent - lots of fresh fruit, some cooked food, ham and cheese - and really everything you could want. And the coffee was good! We had breakfast included but apparently the cost would have been €7 per person. There was a thriving spa which we did not use. There is a rather fine Blues club in the basement (which caused us no noise problems) There was a supermarket across the road. And it is easy walking to all the shops, restaurants and tourist attractions in the city centre - and right on the beech. This is not a Luxury hotel, but for me it was certainly exactly what I wanted at the right price.
Location is fantastic, with a wonderful sea view, you can open the window and hear the sea lapping the shore. However, hotel is never 4 star, hard beds, very basic rooms, plug sockets hanging out of wall and very few facilities. If all you want is a place to sleep, fine, but we’ll over priced for that
The location on the promenade of Las Canteras beach is perfect. The quality of the hotel and rooms is average, but many other things make up for this. The rooms are a good size, not crowded at all. My wife would have liked to have had a bath, but there is only a shower. We opted for a room with a terrace, which was well worth it and I spent lots of time out on the terrace watching the world go by from my magnificent perch. The manager is a friendly and approachable woman and that attitude filters down to all of the staff. After a bad experience with staff at another hotel on the island, it was a pleasure to experience the friendliness and good service here. The breakfast buffet is small but adequate and delicious, with a superb view of the promenade and beach from the tables.
The room is pretty basic, and I think it's overpriced. The hotel has great location on the beach with plenty of restaurants around. There is convenience store right next to the hotel and big shopping mall 10 mins away by feet. The hotel also provides beach towels for free (just require 10 euros deposit) The wifi is very slow.
We booked through Expedia for a double room with a sea view. Room 1 - two single beds and no sea view. Room 2 - this time a sea view but still two single beds. By this time it was after 9:00pm and we were very tired after a long trip from the U.K. My wife was upset and we said we weren’t happy to accept the 2nd room. So, after much rearranging, the hotel upgraded us to a sea view double room with our own terrace. Well done Guys and thanks for a fantastic stay.
