Just returned from hols with my wife having been recommended this location and hotel by TUI travel agent. Rated 4* and spot on. From reception, entertainment, restaurant, cleaning and Tui rep everyone had a smile and would make you feel welcome. Clean, tidy and uncluttered, what a pleasure to be able to relax with plenty of shaded areas if required. Cannot recommend this hotel enough. Good food and drinks all inclusive package. Would certainly visit again.

Stayed here a week... Lovely setting and facilities.. however, everything was spoiled by poor customer service. Don't expect a hello or a smile from any of their staff... exception teo our room maid who was lovely. Generally speaking.. staff very unbecoming from bars to restaurants through to reception. Felt like a hindrance and interference staying at this hotel. Made to feel guilty for being there enjoying yourself. If only the staff were trained on important customer care... I'm sure they would enjoy their work more seeing the customer made to feel happy and looked after. Such a shame as really has an impact on your stay when you know the staff are relentlessly unapproachable and resentful for even being there. The staff here will argue to toss and question you for asking for extra ice in your cola. All inclusive is great unless your made to feel like Oliver twist asking for more porridge... you will be made to feel like a disruption. Arriving at the speciality restaurant after waiting 3 days for reservation... told on arrival... even before a good evening....which we never got...that we had 90 mins to eat what we wanted from buffet before we would lose are table for second sitting... just another nail in the coffin.. too many to mention..to even contemplate returning to this hotel. 😣

We (2 adults and a teenager) have just come back from a 10 night stay at Rui Papayas. The hotel is beautiful and the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in. The rooms are really nice and the beds and beddding are definitely the best I have ever experienced abroad. The staff at this hotel can not do enough to help you and they are always to friendly. The food is pretty standard all inclusive food, there was a lot of variety and it was all freshly cooked. The only down side of this hotel, I feel, is that there is not enough for teenage kids and bored husbands to do in the day. I really feel like they could do with getting a table tennis table and maybe some games for in the pool. The area is perfect, it is a lovely town, very clean and felt safe. The beach is 10 minute walk away and there is lots of shops that are all open late. There are lots of nice bars around and we went out a played crazy golf a few times just down the road, which was really fun. There also a few shopping centres near to the hotel. Over all it was a brilliant holiday and we would definitely return in the future.

I am very happy we chose this hotel for our last minute all inclusive holiday, Being a Club Riu it had a lot of activities on site, mainly provided by the animation team. During the day there is boules, volley ball, water aerobics, darts, archery, art classes and many more. During the evening the animation team put on cabaret style shows that were very good. There were also spot appearances from other people like jugglers or music acts, The food was very good and there is also a Spanish and Asian restaurant on site if you want more variety. The staff were so friendly and helpful all of the time I would definitely stop here again. Also the hotel was very clean and well maintained.

The bedroom we had was big however we could do with a bit more of storage space.. The wardrobe was good to hang some clothes but we needed drawers to put small things. There were only two shallow drawers and very small drawers in the bedside cabinets. I used all the drawers for my clothes and other things and there was no place for my husband's stuff, he had to keep all his small things in the suitcase which was a bit inconvenient. I found the light above the bedside cabinet a bit too dark for reading, Between the bathroom and the bedroom there was a big obscure glass, which was very annoying when one of us had to use the bathroom in the night and put the light on.. The bedroom lit up like Xmas tree and each time woke me or my husband up. Would be nice if the hotel put some sort of curtain or blind to cover the light from the bathroom. Another thing which upset me a lot it was allowing people to smoke in the outside restaurant which was under cover. I loved to sit outside and have my meals in the open air but selfish smokers didn't allowed me to do it, the smell of smoking was very strong. I don't understand people who go on aeroplane and restrain from smoking for hours but they can't spend an hour or less eating meal without smoking. The management of the hotel shouldn't allowed smoking under cover at all !!!! The food was excellent and this is the reason why I rated this hotel "very good" despite the problems we had. Overall we had nice time and good rest.

We returned last week from a 2 week stay at riu papayas and can not fault a thing the food always plenty of choice never went hungry even me being pregnant I found something everyday and night to fill me up personally the deserts where my favourite.. cleanliness is spot on the maids who cleaned our room daily left it spotless and the little touches of folding pjs and putting them under pillow and teddy on my sons bed when she made it melted my heart thank you so much.. we never had sun bed issues but we did get up early to get them and stayed on them till end of day when we stayed on the hotel grounds.. the hotel was busy on our 1st week due to school holidays n there was still plenty of beds to go around.. the pool aswell is really refreshing specially when it’s hot :) there was a bit of a language barrier when walking round the hotel and using the lifts ie saying morning or hello to someone u often got a blank look back because they didn’t speak same language but that’s not the hotels fault.. it was my birthday on the 23rd we went for a day out and when we returned there was a massive bunch of flowers left in my room what my partner and son had arranged to be delivered while we was out aswell as a bottle of seco that I have brought home with me for after I have had baby... all in all this hotel should be 5 * had a really really good holiday thank you so much and we will return in the near future xx

Lovely hotel, ensuring guests are happy a priority. Nothing is too much trouble. It is what you come to expect with Riu hotels. Food, room and facilities first class, entertainment team do all they can to make stay a great experience. Would certainly come back!!

Cannot rate this hotel enough! We booked here for our honeymoon with our 1 year old son. We were made so welcome and our little boy loved Sylvia and Yoli in the restaurant. By the time we left we felt part of the family hence we returned again in September! Again another brilliant holiday. Thanks guys!

I went for one week holiday there in October. The location is good. It is 15 minutes walk to the sandy beach, but hotel offers free bus for guests. I had all-inclusive option. I am very satisfied with food. The choose was enormous. I was one week so I couldn't tried everything. There were spanish dishes, but some more common options like pasta, pizza or burgers too. Maybe drinks in bars were'nt so good. It was typical all-inclusive version. Earlier prepared. But still, it was OK. I think you can't expect too much in all-inclusive. The service was very kind and quick. Rooms very spacious and super cleaned. There is small gym too. I didn't go for any activities, but I saw there was some aqua aerobic, darts or entertainment for kids. I think they should consider yoga class. i'm pretty sure people would sign in. Maybe the night shows were a little bit boring. Some shows with music, people dancing on the Scene. Well, I went once, and I decided I won't go again. But it didn't bother me so much. There were a lot of older German people, so in general the atmosphere was quiet. I don't now how it looks like in more vacational season, like July or August. In general, when I was walking around the neighbourhood I think this hotel was the best :) I really recommend and I had nice stay there!

I went on holiday with my parents for a week of R&R. It was my first trip to Gran Canaria. I thought the hotel was great. You could not fault the cleanliness as all rooms and dining, bar and pool areas were immaculate. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. The only things that let the hotel down slightly was the location, people ignored the no smoking signs and the hotel felt a bit cramped and claustrophobic especially around the pool areas. Aside from this, we had a lovely week away but would not return to this location but another Riu hotel definitely.
