Super large and luxurious room. Bed was so comfortable with twin duvets and soft pillows. Even though our room overlooked the train yard, you couldn't hear a single sound from outside. If only other hotels could somehow discover such soundproofing. The free dinner was an unexpected bonus and made life easier after a long travel day.
I have been a frequent guest at this Hotell for years and NEVER been anything but extremly pleased. The staff is the best, they truly LOVE people and service. And as a guest, they always make me so happy. Rooms are spotless, big and have a scandinavian design palete. Breakfast and evening meal are included in the rate and are always best quality and flavorful. Location couldent be better, super central. Overal great value !!!
I had a short visit to Gothenburg and needed a reasonable priced hotel, but with facilities to work without sitting on my bed. Clarion Hotel Odin was in many ways a good choice, but definitely with its ups and downs. I have been there before, but it’s quite some time since the last visit. Driving up to the front door there was a 10 minute parking available. The board inside said that the Reception was on floor up, but I counted two floors. I was issued a code for the parking garage plus the key to the room. I also ordered a wake-up call at 5:15 and a Breakfast-to-Go. Getting into the parking garage was easy, but finding my way to the door to the hotel was a lot more challenging once down there. There were two signs in the ceiling – I spotted the one, but missed the other. The door was in an unlit part of the garage and undistinguishable from several other doors – I was guided by the next man coming in. The elevator (with clear floor signs) took me straight to my floor, the corridors are light, but one can hardly call them inviting. The room – on the other hand - was very spacious and nice looking with a separate kitchenette and good working space. But no internet code to connect. A trip to the reception and the problem was solved. Later in the evening I also enjoyed a small supper; very tasteful and nice chicken casserole. I had a late shower, just to find that there were no towels. The hairdryer did turned out to work fine, the bed was superb, and I slept like a baby. I woke at five got dressed – and noticed a red blinking light on the phone at 5:15, but it disappeared before I got there. No messages. Upon checkout at 5:30, the receptionist was happy to see me, apparently he had tried to call me, but my phone had no ringing tone. The breakfast bag was fine, and I could hit the road on time. In summary: some ups like a nice room, a good bed and a nice supper and very friendly staff. Some downs like missing information boards/ marking, hick-ups (internet code and towels) and finally a non-ringing phone. It leaves this traveler with a mixed impression. Would I try it again? Probably – just out of curiosity. And you do get value for money. Would I recommend it to friends? Not yet.
A 3 star hotel with inconsistent service depending who is on duty. Waching and training possibilities. Not to far from the central station Dinner and afternoon coffe are included in the price. A hotel that is good for a quick stay and if youre not looking for good service - then this is a hotel for you
Stayed here for one night. The hotel is about a 5 min walk from the Train/Bus station. It's in a good location to explore the city. Staff were friendly and welcoming & the room was clean and fairly large for Europe. The organization of the hotel is a bit odd because the hotel is in a building that has other uses but I have seen that before and it really isn't an issue. It's just different from what we might be used to in the U.S. Breakfast and dinner were good. It was kind of odd that the meals were located in the lobby/common area but the hotel can't really help that. Overall, I thought it was a good hotel at a very good price and I would definitely stay here again if I were ever to return to the city.
We've visited Gothenburg and stayed in several hotels, however this was perfect for a weekend stay. Staff are friendly during check-in, the rooms are spacious and clean. There was a good breakfast buffet with a wide selection of hot and cold food. In the early afternoon you can enjoy free cakes and coffee, plus there is also a "small" buffet dinner available for free, which is plenty if you just want to have a simple meal and save some cash while you are there (Gothenburg is not the cheapest city to travel in europe!). There is also a public gym attached to the building with great high quality facilities which is available for guests to use. We've stayed twice and wouldn't hesitate to stay again.
This is a great hotel with free WiFi, breakfast and afternoonbuffè included in the price. Big room also with a kitchen, so it is possible to make your own dinner. Clean room, friendly staff. Only about five minutes walk to the trainstation and the same to the tram stop.
This hotel is just a view minute walk away from the central station/ bus terminal. The Joel offers free of charge a large, fresh and delicious breakfast and evening buffet. In addition they are offered an afternoon coffe as well, but the cake isn't worth to be tasted. Only one floor below the reception is a large, modern gym with all kinds and style of machines, mills etc. You'll have a free access. Perfect workout! You won't be alone there, but that's ok. The room are spacious enough and have a large bathroom with a comfortable floor-levelled shower. Many of the rooms are quiet thus a good sleeps will be ensured. There is just one pity: The heating is making an incredible noise when heating up.
Stayed here for 3 nights as part of a trip from sweden to denmark. Was incredibly impressed with how helpful the staff were. The room was great and the hotel was so close to the city centre. As an added bonus, the hotel offers a free evening - wHi ch was plentiful and had a great selection of both hot and cold food to choose from. Would definitely stay here again, I've even recommended to friends who are looking to visit Sweden.
For the first time ever I'm disappointed with my room at the Odin. The superior room itself is huge clean and comfortable. But and it's a big but, it's like an oven in here and being a room overlooking the bar/reception if I open the internal window all I can hear is music and the noise of dinner chat. There is no aircon just heating. It's a shame the first bad thing I've ever had to say about the hotel. On the plus side my wet clothes from the rain will dry quickly. Take my advise don't get an inside opening room. Hot and noisy when people are eating and there's one small window that you can't block out the light (no curtain) so never fully dark. My rating would be below average for the room, but I'll still rate the hotel as very good
