We absolutely loved everything about our stay at Bluestone Cottage. While the house certainly retains many of its 300-year-old historical details, it also has all the modern conveniences we could have wanted, and endless amounts of charm. The kitchen is laid out to make it easy for multiple people to work at once, and the appliances are new and easy to use. There is a butcher block on the counter with very nice set of sharp knives, and crock and drawer full of all kinds of cooking utensils. A well-stocked spice cabinet is at your disposal. The tables in the kitchen and dining room both can accommodate six people with room to spare, and having a bedroom on the main floor made the house easy to navigate for grandparents. The AC units kept the bedrooms cool, but we really only needed them on one of our four night stay in August. For the other nights, open windows or fans were all we needed to achieve a perfect temperature for sleeping. The property setting is gorgeous too. We watched deer wander the grounds and our dog delighted in tracking field mice to the woods, while we splashed in the pool for hours. We did not feel the need to venture out much, but when we did, we enjoyed AJ's and Goshen Pizza in Goshen, @the Corner in Litchfield center, and the Sunset Meadow Vineyard.We hope to be able to visit again -- it was the perfect location for our family to gather!
