Please note that, while the property appears to be private, there are neighbors close by. County ordinances prohibit excessive noise at any time, especially during quiet hours (10PM-8AM), and excessive noise may result in forfeiture of security deposit (loud noise or amplified music that may bother the neighbors is not allowed).
The space Spacious home with 300 feet of waterfront on the South Fork American River. 3 bedrooms, 3 baths, updated kitchen, large wrap-around deck, 1 formal living room and 2 dens, 4 woodstoves. Beds include 1 king and 2 queens. The main level has 3 bedrooms, each with a nearby bathroom.
Riverfront - 4WD vehicles can drive down to the river area from the house, or there is a pathway to walk down as well. For those interested in swimming or dipping their feet into the water, please note that the entry into the river can be rocky and slippery; we do not have an easy sandy beach access area, so please use caution.
Guest access Entire home, 4-acre yard with 300 feet riverfront. Please note: There is an outdoor flagstone patio located under the oak trees that IS NOT accessible to guest use. This area is for use of owners only. Our apologies for excluding this area, but It is too close to the neighbor's house and use of the patio ALWAYS results in a complaint or call to the sheriff, regardless of time of day/night.
Other things to note
Campfires: Are prohibited due to new county vacation rental regulations.
River chairs: There are red adirondack chairs at the riverfront that are locked with a cable lock. The code is 9110. Please return the chairs to the original location and relock after use.
Internet: We have the best internet service available in this valley. It is often slow and sometimes unreliable.
Phones: Please note that AT&T cell phones may not in this area. Verizon and Sprint both work well.
Pets: Pets are not allowed.
Smoking: Please do not smoke inside the house.
Televisions: There are 3 TVs - one in master bedroom, one in upstairs den, and a large flatscreen in the downstairs den. These are all smart TVs for using Netflix/Amazon/DVDs, etc., but please note there is NO CABLE/SATELLITE service available.
There are two properties that share the riverfront area (6791 and 6801). You may encounter folks from the other house, though there is plenty of riverfront space to spread out.
Please note that this area has a strict noise ordinance for quiet hours starting at 10PM. Please be respectful of this time limit, as noise travels quite well along the river. Also, excessive noise or loud amplified music are not allowed at any time.
River fun: Water flows on the South Fork of the American River are controlled by the upriver Chili Bar Dam. Water is released at certain times of the day and certain days of the week, which fluctuates throughout the year and depending on rain conditions and power needs. Please check Dreamflows website for a schedule of anticipated release times, and note that the water typically rises at our house around 1-2 hours after release from the dam.
The River Store nearby should be able to take care of your watersports needs. The section of the river that the house is on, is called "C to G", and is ~ class 2 whitewater. Our home is located downriver from a rapid called Gremlin, and just upriver from a rapid called Old Scary.
The vacation home is air-conditioned and features a kitchen, 3 bathrooms, and a patio, and there's space to spread out with 3 bedrooms. Other standard amenities include a washing machine, a fireplace, and a coffee maker.
