I was happy to stay two nights at the Comfort Inn, I liked the location it is amongst many restaurants and hotels and a very short walk to shops and tourist destinations. I have stayed in Ballarat many times over the years however I have decided I like the location of Bakery Hill. I stayed in a large room with spa and lounge suite and dining table and desk, I liked the extra room. To be picky the rooms need sound proofing as it is quite noisey, Apart from that I would definately stay there again.
Comfort Inn & Suites City Views is centrally located in the Bakery Hill area. It is a short walk from the Art Gallery of Ballarat and the train station. It is within walkable distance of attractions like Sovereign Hill and the Museum of Australian Democracy though you could also take a taxi or drive. We stayed in one of the executive suites. The room was spacious with fairly modern facilities. The service was excellent. Pleasingly for Australia, the rooms included free wifi.
The room was clean and well serviced, very basic but adequate. Our first impression was one of disappointment as it was small and dark but then realised it was fine for somewhere to sleep after a busy day. The bed was reasonably comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. Nice clean white towels in the bathroom. Not too far to walk for shops and restaurants.
Good business class motel walking easy walking distance to dining options and shops. The room was larger than normal as was the bathroom that had a large spa and shower mounted over it. Parking is proximate to the room and undercover. Bed comfortable with electric blankets fitted. The room was well heated/cooled. Television has cable TV options available. Undercover pool available onsite. WiFi free and fast. The downsides were that the room was relatively sparsely furnished, dimly lit with no roof mounted lighting and if you are a light sleeper the front rooms do suffer from traffic noise even with double glazing.
We had the front room at it was very noisy with the local hoons roaring up the hill what seemed like all nite also we could not gain access to the pool as the door was Locked at 5.30 pm and we went out for dinner and had lost our undercover car park so we had to park out the back in the open
Having stayed in Ballarat for more than eight months, I can stay this is easily the best hotel I've stayed at. Great location, large and spacious spa rooms, hot swimming pool onsite and delicious hot breakfasts. Would highly recommend!
We absolutely loved it here, the staff were lovely and did everything they could to help. The room was very spacious and clean. And it was only a short walk into the main town. We would happily stay here again!
We booked the Comfort as we needed a two bedroom place when visiting a friend. Everything was very good and we were made most welcome. Great breakfast, Would not hesitate to recommend it or stay again.
This motel is right on the edge of town with some pubs and restaurants a block away but a 10-15 minute walk to the city centre. There is much variability in the rooms in terms of size, bathroom amenities (spas vs showers only), whether it has an outside space, and noise (I struggled to sleep in a room on the front due to cars hooning up the hill despite double-glazing and air-con running). We moved to another room which was very quiet. Otherwise the rooms are modern and comfortable. Bonuses were the friendliness of staff and our free room upgrade. The only things lacking were adequate lighting in the room at night-time (we struggled to see to play cards because there are no central, overhead lights), information about how to access pay-TV, and a coffee table. Also staff start servicing the rooms around 9am (these sounds woke me up each morning) and they may knock on your door before 10am wanting access to service the room. This is the earliest I've ever had a hotel wanting to service my room.
We stayed here for three nights early January in a very large room with two queen beds. It was very clean and soft furnishings were of a high standard. The room and bathroom had been recently renovated. The room was very comfortable and had everything you could need. The motel is in walking distance of the central cbd so very easy to get around and to walk to many restaurants and shops. The pool area is indoor and quite large , my son enjoyed playing here every day. There was plenty of parking, some of it undercover. Management was friendly, welcoming and helpful. Highly recommended.
