Like others I hesitate to talk about how lovely this hotel is, but it just wouldn't be fair to not share. I traveled w/friends on a tour of India which we ended by spending 6 days in Goa at the Sonesta. Our time there couldn't have been any better. The rooms are large, airy, with private balconies - very comfortable. The property is pretty, with morning and evening outdoor dining. Best of all, the beach is only a short walk behind the Hotel. There are a choice of shacks and beach grass shelters to linger under. We patronized Floyds, whose staff was great. The WiFi is free. The food and drinks are good and ridiculously inexpensive. The hotel is a short walk from the main drag but you feel a million miles away while there. A 5 star experience and great end to a wonderful Indian adventure.

I cant believe i'm only now reviewing this amazing tailor after using him for nearly 20 years ....All i will say is that since we found this guy, just behind the main reception area of the Hotel, we never buy any clothes...shirts trousers, smart shorts, jackets, suits, leather jackets, in England....Once again...we just got back from Goa with our suitcases packed with 21 new shirts....a suit....new ties....and several pairs of trousers and all unique.....he has so many samples of different materials, you will need to spend a good while there just choosing your favourites..lol...Everyone we have recommended to Imam have been thoroughly bowled over by the consistent quality and tailoring workmanship offered by this polite and friendly Guy....and like us always become repeat customers .....If you have a favourite garment..he will even make a copy of it for you...and actually they turn out better than the original......

Spent two weeks here with my parents and a group of relatives. The location of the hotel is perfect! Peaceful, but close to the beach and only a short walk to calangute if you feel like shopping. Rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff was friendly. Food was good too, both breakfast and dinner. I have nothing negative to say about this hotel.

Your property was nice and breakfast was good too. Albert in the restaurant was very attentive and the ladies at reception were good too. Just one guy on 27th evening around 8pm (don't know his name) at reception was horrible. I wanted to make sure I bring it to your notice on events of that day below.  My friends visiting from the U.S, headed over to candolim side to hang out at the beach with us. We had spent all afternoon at the beach and we're heading for dinner. I stopped at sonesta to leave my bike and both me and my wife planned to go in the SUV with my friends for dinner. While dropping the bike, my wife and me and my friend (a woman) went to our room as the ladies wanted to freshen up before we head for dinner. I got a call from the reception saying 'sir ladies are not allowed in the room' I laughed and said should I ask my wife to leave too? But I quickly realised that this guys was pressing me to eject my friend from my room immediately. My friend was absolutely embarrassed and immediately left the room along with my wife and me. I went to the reception absolutely furious and explained to the guy, that yes I understand guests not allowed, but my friend is here just for a moment. I have stayed in properties all over India, and never have I come across a behaviour like this. The way it was handled could have been so much better. The guy could have been a little more sensitive while talking to the guests. And even after I went to reception furious this guy was barely apologetic or tried to pacify me. I actually said to him I will probably never stay with sonesta again.

This is a very good hotel, many of the guests we met during our stay were regular visitors to the Sonesta Inn, and I can understand why. Its in a great quiet location just a couple of minuets walk from the main road, and just a few minuets walk, through their private garden to the beach. The staff are great, very attentive and there are many great places to eat in the area.

We have visited Goa more than 10 times, always stayed at Sonesta Inns, as now in February. Everything at the hotel was as relaxing and pleasant as before. Why always Sonesta Inns? - the location is ideal as mentioned in many reviews - big clean pool with sunbeds and sunshades - the hotel is very well managed: beautifully designed rooms, public area like reseption (there are always fresh flowers), restaurants, pool area, flourishing gardens etc. Everything is kept clean and in a perfect shape - the staff speaks English and is very helpful and friendly Extra value for your money and your satisfaction - mini refridgerator in the room - electric safe in the room, free - WiFi, free - electric kettle in the room with coffee and tea, bags every day, free - 2 big water bottles per day, free - always warm water in the shower - panel TV with several channels - effecting lighting in the room, also for reading in bed - pool towers, free More - room service until 11 pm. For instance "Oceanic Pizza" 370 INR = appr. 6 €, beer less than 100 INR = appr 1,50 € - laundry service, for instance men´s pyjama 50 INR - pleasant get-togethers once a week organised by the hotel - pricing and quality in the restaurants and pool bar are very competitive with the restaurants and bars outside. Hotel Sonesta Inns is a 3-star hotel with 3-star pricing, but you easily feel like staying at a 5-star hotel. By the way, - should you be looking for something very special and more luxorious, but still appreciate personal treatment at the hotel, please follow a soon to be opened hotel in Calangute: ANDORES RESORT & SPA, 5 stars! It has the same owner as Sonesta Inns

When I find a perfect the place, I’m reluctant to share, but then that’s not fair! The Sonesta Inn was a perfect place. I read some of the negative reviews, and I can honestly say, what planet was the reviewer on? The rooms were light and airy, clean white sheets and powerful showers. We were originally put into room 222, which over looked the garden, it was very peaceful and had a fantastic WIFI reception. We had requested a pool view room, which was not a problem as We were moved the next day. Both rooms were very comfortable. Breakfast was held out side the restaurant in the garden, it was plentiful, with various Goan/ Indian cuisine, like freshly made dosa. There was an egg chef, lots of fresh fruit, cereal and hot food. I have to say the full menu from breakfast to dinner, was lovely. The staff were so accommodating, especially when I needed my hot tea with cold milk and sugar. The Sonesta have definitely picked fantastic people to work for them. Floyds sea side shack just down the path from the Sonesta, made some gorgeous meals, like the Goan fish curry, or the mushroom masala. The staff there were a bit pushy, and at times I felt like I had to eat there, however, that’s their lively hood, and to be honest, they couldn’t do enough for us. Outside of the hotel, it does look a bit remote and resembles the jungle. But once you get your bearings, the main area is only a short walk away. Don’t bother getting a cab, however if you do, make sure you haggle, they definitely try to rip you off. We went to a lovely restaurant called The Mermaid in Candolim. It’s run by a Swedish Lady, Katarina and her Goan husband. The restaurant is proud of its cleanliness, and katarina makes her own desserts like lemon meringue, chocolate cakes, cheesecakes etc daily. The food is gorgeous and so reasonable. It’s well worth a visit. The night-market on a Saturday, and the ‘Hippie market on a Tuesday are worth visiting, but haggle! Always offer half the price and negotiate from there. Otherwise walk away. Be careful walking on the beach at night and in remote areas, especially if you’re female. At times we felt very vulnerable, as there seemed to be gangs of lads hanging around. Women are Definately treated like second class citizens. Lastly, try NEOMIS salon and spa. It’s such a treat! Luxury pampering at a fraction of the price. We came out feeling like a million dollars! I’ve probably got lots of tips that I’ll Remember later, but a huge one is, to get to the airport early. You will queue to get into the terminal, then queue to have your bags security checked, then you’ll be asked to check in, then another security check to enter departures, then another to go up the escalators where the army are waiting at the top to check your boarding cards! I’m so glad we got up so early!! All in all, Goa is a different world, vibrant busy friendly and beautiful. Enjoy it!!

The spacious room with a separate sitting area and a large well lit bathroom was so pleasant . I had to take refuge from the very hot sun and sipping a coffee in my room was most welcome. The staff are delightful and can not do enough to make your holiday all you want it to be. The food is excellent and the choices at breakfast are considerable. The sizzle evening outside with a super musician made for a memorable evening and dining under the stars in February is a wonderful novelty for a Brit. Would love to go back there agin.

Our 17th visit so we must like this hotel. As we get older the location of our hotel is very important and the Sonesta is ideal. The hotel has a great pool and easy access to the beach and has a lovely area to sit and relax around the pool bar. Food prices and quality are still very comparable to outside places. We have just returned after another great month and have already booked for 2019. Many thanks to the GM Jose and his excellent staff for another year.

This is how we feel when we arrive back at the Sonesta. We arrived at 2.00am to a warm welcome. This is one of the beauties of the Sonesta.....the staff make a good hotel perfect. From the room boys to the reception staff are friendly and efficient. The setting is ideal, away from the hustle and bustle of Beach Road but within easy walking distance. The design of the building ensures that there is an open attractive feel to the pool and gardens. The food is good and well presented. We have already booked for December 2018.
