The most disgusting ,filthy ,bug infested place they have the cheak to call A hotel Pictures will Prove what I’m saying mattresses stained bug infested holes where they are buried into mattresses , mattress protectors never cleaned stains with blood sweat and whatever even human excrement , Rotten kitchen cupboard with bugs living very happily dropping their eggs onto surface , pillows stained so Bad they should be distorted ,shower stinks of rust when ran and filthy handles missing off units noisy air conditioning cockroaches, fridge filthy inside and out table clothes filthy never changed At hotels outdoor restaurant And the rep when he could be bothered turning up didn’t give a crap thought it was funny. I wish I could put more pictures on My parents and family member have been going to goa for 30 years and this is not what you expect
Let's start by the positive, the staff: The guys in the reception and the waiters are good guys doing their best. The negative; No kettle in the room 105 to boil water for a tea or coffe. The furniture is very old and taking apart. The place is very dirty and there is mild. The fridge is extremely dirty and a heavy hazard. Have stayed many places in India, but this place is not worth the price 3.000 rupee.
The Highland Beach Resort has 7 swimming pools quite widely spaced and 1 dining room. There were probably three restaurants outside closer to our room than the breakfast area. If you know Candolim Reception is by the Clinic and our room was by Beach Road - a good walk. The room was actually a 3 room apartment with 2 bathrooms and a kitchen. It was clean effective A/C and fans but dated. Room service is as good as you expect but not as invisible as usual. The breakfasts were usual Indian standard but with good omelettes. Technically - forget the wifi even in reception it was poor and the mains electricity was so variable it dropped out evefy evening. My speedtesters best reading was 26Mbps. We arranged a trip to Chennai whilst staying there and arranged a taxi for 04.30 to the airport. As we were uncertain about Reception we persuaded the rep to explain our plans to Reception in the local language. Despite this when the taxi arrived he was not allowed into the hotel. Fortunately he found us and we got to the airport. It was otherwise an acceptable budget hotel in Indian terms.
First time in goa what a amazing place. I was a bit concerned about the accmodarion after reading review on trip advisor was clean but basic so that is great. We're people it was filthy well mine wasn't got cleaned every day. And fresh towels.also right in the heart of everything. So many eating places food amazing always entaanment in bars. Can't say enough about the place only been back 2 weeks already looking to book for next year
Hotel is very dated Rooms very shabby Bathroom filthy , cleaners only mop floors , no door or wall wiping Air con clapped out n very noisy Cockroach in the room ( killed 3) Beds rock hard & un-sleepable ( everyone deserves a good nights sleep when on hols, but you have got no chance in these beds) Pools and pool areas are very clean & tidy
Love this hotel, been coming for years. Rooms are basic, but big. Most have two bedrooms and two baths, lounge with tv, kitchen and two balconies. Breakfasts are pretty basic, fruit juice, toast, tea and coffee, plus eggs cooked how you want them. Staff are very friendly. Only gripe are the evening meals, they are too big !!! When we ate there one evening, the starter could have been my main course. Ordered calamari, which came with chips. Enough for a whole meal. Don't let this out you off as I return year after year since 1994.
Well I really need to talk about the Bell boy (I call him strong man) He is totally amazing Little guy but so very strong We stayed in the room above reception but this guy was so lovely He knew I had been refused my flight home due to being ill Please can you tell him I really appreciate his concern and I would love to show my appreciation next year Please can you forward his name
The apartment was good we were in 908, you get used to the electric going off lol. It was clean and modern with everything you need from a base, the only real negative was the mattress they were worse than the sunlounger.
Just returned on 6th March, after spending 17 nights at the Highland Beach. Given a large 2 Bed, 2 Bathroom and 2 balcony apartment. Basic but cleaned and towels and bedding changed every day. Quite easily stay here again. Negative reviews are coming from people who have"nt been to India before, want 5 star accommodation pay 5 star prices, you are in India ! Nice staff and food good, pools and grounds excellent and well maintained. Thanks for a great holiday.
Room was just above reception large living room bedroom & bathroom ,the beds are rock hard but you do get used to them bathroom ok get your shower before 6_30 pm that's wen u get power cuts , All the staff very friendly breakfast basic but a great omelette chef, table cloths were stained but it is hard to get spice stains out they did change them though our only gripe was the towels, had to get on the phone a lot as they never arrived also did get massive hassle from the guys in the jewellers shop's at the front . It's in a great location yes it is basic but it's fine would I stay here again YES if the price was right.
