Myself and friends revisited double tree a few times.and every visit I check if tara is available to do my treatments which again I thoroughly enjoyed , my friends therapists were maria and sydney , they too were pleased with theirs, nice to see the hotel has goes through a makeover , afternoon tea was also very nice ,will be back again next time thank you !
Ordered a steak in the restaurant and staff seemed to find it funny that I requested a steak knife and when I insisted returned with a knife that was not a star knife and again found it funny when I requested a steak knife but then told me this was the best knife they had ( i.e. a usual knife). No heating in the room. Contacted reception who sent a young man who was trying to be helpful but could not rectify the problem. We were offered a heater and accepted. He returned with a heater that would not heat a very small room, not even close to heating a suite which we were in. We were having difficulties with the operation of the features on the Smart TV in our room also. We have Smart TVs at home and are familiar with them. However, one in our room did not work via interactive internet based services. Asked the staff for help who told us, "That's one of them Smart TVs isn't it, I don't know how you work them." Explained the above to the staff on departure who seemed bamboozled about what to do with this information. They did say sorry but no other comments were made or offers to appease me. Due to the above will not be using the hotel again for future stays in Cheltenham. Should have used Ellenborough Park like we did last year!
Lovely hotel, friendly reception staff, convenient location. Great gym with good range of equipment and spa facilities. Beauty treatments were good if slightly pricey. Good choice of board games for use in the bar/lounge. Dinner menu was great choice and quality. Some training needed of bar staff.
We were on the 2nd floor (3rd floor to us Canadians) and there was no elevator. I was told it was a grade 2 listed building and they could not install one. The stairs were steep and our bags were heavy, quite a job to get them up there with my disabled wife. The room was very small and far too hot and the windows would not open. Supper there was overpriced and very poor quality. The bed was clean and comfortable. Breakfast however was very good. Overall was not impressed
I came here for the night with my mum for a little break and we loved it. The hotel is clean, welcoming and set in beautiful grounds. The staff were very helpful, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The room was a great size, very clean, the beds were comfortable. There is a pub/restaurant next door which serves lovely food and the menu in the hotel restaurant also looked very tasty. We will definitely be back to stay here again.
What a wonderful weekend we had at this hotel, we parked our electric car with easy hook up, arrived early at 11am but staff were more than happy to give us keys at no extra cost. Lovely rooms, I would recommend asking for a garden view as it’s really pretty. A definate high light was the food quality, every meal my friends had was described as tasty, breakfast was a great selection and on hot plates too. I am normally quite a moaner but was struggling to find fault with this hotel. We were told the pool was cold due to a heater problem which considering what were going for (to use the pool) I thought the experience was going to be disappointing. But the pool was fine and plenty warm enough. Sauna and steam great, I had a spray tan and the others had a full body massage , the staff were friendly and helpful. Only grumble would be the spa is small, and we were lucky to get there early and get the only 5 sun beds around. Others arriving in the spa looks a little disappointed. I advise getting there early. Oh and when we checked out we were given a hot cookie and a bottle of water free of charge for our onward journey. It’s the little things. Very impressed we will come again.
My family all came together from around the country to celebrate my wife and I 50th Wedding Anniversary and we couldn't have chosen a better place! We had reserved a number of rooms and my wife and I chose a suite which was excellent. The food couldn't have been better and even the kids enjoyed themselves. Although not cheap, I would definitely recommend this hotel for a special event. We all had a great time.
We had a very nice room in this lovely hotel, and the indoor pool was large and very inviting and warm. The hotel also has an exercise room that many of the guests seemed to like. Breakfast was good with a huge selection.
Lovely hotel nicely decorated, very clean, staff very helpful and friendly, hot cookies on arrival and free Wifi, fabulous breakfast lots of choices Located close to the centre approx £8 in a taxi....
Booked for the last 2 nights of our recent holiday, although it was called the Cheltenham Park Hotel when I did the original booking. A great place to stay if visiting the Cotswolds. Great rooms, clean, comfortable and great food choice after a day out if you are not trying some of the local fare. We booked room only, preferring to try out the local places for breakfast but buffet would be standard fare. Plenty of free off street car parking as well. Highly recommended and look for deals. PS.. Can recommend Moreton in Marsh as a place to visit on a Tuesday if in the area. About 40 minutes from hotel and an amazing local market happens. Well worth the effort. Gardens and Falconry centre close by and also recommended for a visit. Flying of birds display is great and Chris (trainer) knows his stuff and is a fantastic presenter.
