Went with partner who had bought me a night's stay as a birthday present away. What a lovely hotel. Front of house staff were very good. Room was pristine and bathroom lovely albeit a tad small. We had dinner and breakfast there. I had steak and partner had seabass. I had the brownie for pudding. Both thought food was of excellent quality. Wide variety of breakfast the next. Perfect trip but size of room prevents giving a 5, although wouldn't put me off returning.
Stayed for 1 night booked 2 rooms for 4 adults. We had a lovely time from the friendly check in, the rooms are lovely and the bathrooms are amazing. We had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant, the staff are attentive and friendly and no complaints about the food as the breakfast was really good.
Came hear for one night but stayed for two. The location is great about 10 minutes walk into town and the parking is good too. We orinignslly had a cheap room which was downstairs but upgraded to an upstairs room for the second night. Both rooms were great but upstairs was better. The breakfast is lovely but don't be in a hurry.
We had this one night break as a gift from our closest friend. My wife chose this hotel based on its very good reviews, plus we had never visited Cheltenham before. To be very fair, we had our room upgraded on our arrival, nice. The room was very good, no complaints at all. We enjoyed a lovely afternoon and evening exploring the town and having a meal. We had a good nights sleep, comfortable bed, and found the shower to be excellent in the morning...all good. Then, my personal favourite of the B&B experience ....a full English breakfast ! The dining room was lovely, the choices of cereals , fruit, pastries etc quite acceptable , certainly not the best I've had, but good enough. Then the problems started. We both ordered a full breakfast at the same time as toast arrived. Then we waited....and waited , well in excess of half an hour. When it finally came, the toast was by now, stone cold. I then noticed that the sausage looked very under cooked and when I ate a piece, found it to be cold. My wife cut into hers and it oozed cold fat. She took it to the kitchen and told them that it was unacceptable . The front of house was apologetic and brought new food, after another wait! This time it was at least warm, but I'm afraid my confidence in the food was lost. The sausages were basically poor quality and the rest of the meal tasted deep fried and unappetising . The waitress was again apologetic but I was left disappointed and hungry. We checked out soon after and told the same manager how dissapointed we were. Because the stay was in effect pre paid, he felt unable to compensate in any way. He did offer us a drink from the bar, but at 10 o clock in the morning and about to drive, even he realised this was a poor offer of compensation . So we came away with " I'm really sorry guys" as our lasting reminder of the hotel. Not good enough I'm afraid, so I couldn't recommend this hotel to any of our friends or anyone else. Paul.
Excellent service, friendly atmosphere, good food selection, especially breakfast.Ideally situated for various parts of the Cotswolds.would definitely visit again.Room was excellent, great shower, good select on of tea and coffee available
Very friendly and helpful manager and staff. Good facilities - restaurant and bar. Breakfast very good. Evening Meal OK. You would exhaust the menu in a few days. Cheltenham centre and good restaurants are 10 to 15 minutes walk. Shame they have no lift - we had to use stairs to a second floor room. We enjoyed our stay for 2 nights.
Stayed in a standard double. Lovely decor with a spacious bathroom that looked like it had been newly renovated. The room was not massive (as suggested in other reviews) however, the size was more than adequate and didn't feel too small. It was light and airy despite being in the basement. Shutters provided great privacy and a nice feature. Only slight negatives were the bedroom carpet, looked a little worn in places and at night the light from the hallway shone into the bedroom, (think the door is sitting a little high), As we like to sleep in complete darkness we had to roll a towel up to stop the light coming through, but nothing that spoilt our stay. Wide selection of breakfast options to choose from in the morning, including pancakes, eggs Benedict and smoked salmon. Was great to be offered more than the standard fry-up. Free on-Site parking is a luxury in Cheltenham, and hotel isn't too far for a leisurely walk into the main high street.
Very happy with our 1 night stay here. Check in/out process was swift and efficient. Very good options for made to order breakfast options. Room was clean, comfortable and bathroom had bold and nice decor. Great value for the price!!
We absolutely loved this hotel and would definitely recommend it . Easy to park, decor beautiful, staff very welcoming, food excellent, great location. The only minor criticism is the bed was rather smaller than we are used to.
we were given a gift by our daughter of an overnight stay with evening meal and breakfast. we checked into the hotel and we hit a problem, the hotel had an issue which meant we couldn't fulfil the object of our visit. The hotel staff were extremely kind, and did their best to help us, they couldn't have been more helpful. The room we had was a little on the small side but it was very clean and comfortable. I wouldn't hesitate if the occasion arose to stay there again
