This was my second visit to Hotel Diament Plaza Gliwice. This time it was much better. On my first visit I got a room that was next to the elevator lobby, so it was quite noisy. This time my room was at the end of a corridor, so it was very quiet. The downside was that the view from the window was not great. Also there was some noise during daytime from the renovation work that is ongoing at the hotel. The room itself was very nice. It had two separate beds that could have been pushed together, a TV, minibar, a kettle and other necessities. The bathroom was nice, although during my first shower there was not enough hot water. So overall this was an ok stay in a nice building. Some parts in the interior are a bit outdated, but there is renovation ongoing, so let's see how are things on my next visit.
The staff are helpful and friendly, the room was quiet and clean, the breakfast was good with a wide selection of excellent hot and cold food and the location is central and close to good restaurants and nightlife. My room on the top floor however was very small and dark, not helped by the dark mahogany coloured furniture and the very narrow windows with heavy netting (no doubt to mask the "view") which looked into an acute angle of a dingy tatty court yard. There was a slight smell in the room but running the noisy but efficient aircon produced a smell which I'll politely describe as "damp". Only one small hard chair at the small desk with two cups and glasses and a kettle with only one teabag and one sachet of coffee, no doubt to promote use of the contents of the mini bar, and a table lamp that didn't work. The shower at 06:30 for both mornings I was there produced stone cold water for the first two minutes, then only mildly tepid water after five minutes and getting colder by the minute whilst showering. The Taxi I ordered the first morning at reception confidently took us to completely to the wrong location. Perhaps I expect too much of a hotel for the price but the only thing my room had in common with the pictures on Hotel Diament Plaza's website was the blue throw on the end of the bed and oversized pillows that were too soft and gave no support whatsoever. If I return to Gliwice I'll try elsewhere.
I stayed at room 321 from July 20 until 27 and was positively surprised by the standard of the hotel. My room was very nice and silent as long there was no renovation work going on. The staff was very service-minded and most of them spoke English very well. The location is excellent. 10 minutes walk to the Old City with a lot of good restaurants. 10 minutes walk to the railway station, but bear in mind that the staff at the ticket staff of that station cannot speak English. The hotel is located at one of Gliwice's main shopping streets. A pharmacy/shop for snacks, drinks and bathroom articles etc. (Rossman) is across to the hotel. Very convenient. The hotel is still under renovation. Quite soon it will have a bar/restaurant at the ground floor. Gliwice is also a nice city.
A ten minutes walking distance from the old city. Room is nice decorated, gives you an home feeling. Air conditioning excellent. For breakfast, you have all you can ask for. Wide variety of cheeses, eggs, fresh bread and fresh vegetables. Not to forget the homemade pastries. At the reception you’ll find an helpful stuff, one of them is lovely Joanna. Don’t miss Diament Plaza.
The rooms are slightly on the smaller side but they are very clean. The hotel is located within walking distance to the central plaza where you can find many restaurants. The hotel is also very quick to respond to any issues that you have.
My room was extremely small, with old furniture and a worn out moquette. When I entered the room there was a terrible smell, I had to keep the windows open despite being -5 outside but the smell didn’t go away. My colleague had the same issue. People at the reception were very nice and professional.
I like to take a pragmatic approach to reviews and rate hotels and restaurants based on their price to give a fair view. Hotel Diament is essentially a budget hotel in my opinion but with that still comes the responsibility to get the basics right. The curtains in my room would only cover half the window so the sun woke me every morning which was not planned due to late nights with clients. The noise from the road is loud from about 730 am when the traffic gets going. The noises from all movement in the rooms above and next to you is loud. We asked what time the hotel bar close every night so that we can have a drink, but they closed it earlier than promised 2 of the 3 nights. Only reason for 2 stars is due to the spacious rooms.
A fantastic hotel within walking distance of all high points in Gliwice. Very professional but also extremely friendly staff. Quiet and comfortable rooms gives a great nights sleep. Everything I could ask for.
We booked 2 business rooms with air conditioning. Both rooms very clean, good size with comfortable beds. Location on the main street withing walking distance to the train station or to the town square as well as numerous shops and restaurants. The breakfast was also delicious with great coffee. Will return when we are back in town.
This hotel has the most uncomfortable beds I have ever tried to sleep on. The mattress is like sleeping on a hard floor an the pillows are so big that you can't even use them. Been here for five days and never once had a good night sleep
