1) Does it rain often? Yes. Bellingen has one of the highest rainfall levels in Australia, which is reflected in its lush landscape and ever-flowing Never Never River. It also means we get lots of rainbows at the property. :)
2) Can we swim in your river? Absolutely. However, please note that the river can be dangerous after rainfall and is suitable for strong swimmers only. We have our own private rocky beach, a rope swing, and floaties to play in the swimming hole. Swimming is at your own risk.
3) Is there wifi or phone reception? Yes we have wifi. Phone reception is limited. Telstra phone reception is good up at the main homestead, with limited connection with other providers.
4) Are there dangerous animals? There are occasional nonvenomous snakes on the property, diamond pythons and green tree snakes, they are relatively harmless to humans. There are rare sightings of red belly black snakes down by the dam, so please avoid. We also have ticks in spring and summer, so please avoid walking through long grass.

Please note, this review is for Evermoore Castle (not Evermoor Homestead). We had such a wonderful stay at Evermoore Castle. The castle itself was superb - there was space everywhere and all the furnishings and design brought us back into an enchanted time from long ago. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen had all the utensils we would want to use and the bathroom/shower was great. Our kids loved playing hide and seek in the castle or exploring all the different areas or playing dress ups with the vast array of costumes provided.Yet, as sublime as the castle was, it was the Never Never River which captured our hearts. It runs through the property and is just a short stroll from the castle. We spent numerous days frolicking in the water and playing to our hearts content (bring water guns for kids!). We also had a visit from Chai, the very friendly canine companion.Rachael was an absolute pleasure to communicate with and a wonderful host. She even took time out to show us fireflies one evening. We would thoroughly recommend staying at Evermoore Castle and we would love to go back some time ourselves.
