During my check-in on the first day, my reservation could not be found in the system. As a result, I was asked to wait in the lobby for approximately 30–40 minutes until the issue was resolved.
After that, £1.01 was charged to my card as a verification transaction for security purposes, as my card details were required. I understand this procedure.
I also paid £34 for parking at reception. I was informed by the receptionist that £16 of this amount would be refunded to me. However, the following day, no refund was processed. Instead, I was offered complimentary items as a goodwill gesture.
I agreed to receive four cookies and coffee instead of the £16 refund.
