We just spent three nights at Hotel La Colina in Gijon, Spain. I have to say it’s been the highlight of our European trip. The location is secluded outside of town, but you can get into town in 10 minutes. We ate breakfast in the cafeteria every morning and the food and service were wonderful. The rooms were great, the views are fantastic, along with the hiking paths and best of all the staff were some of the friendliest people we’ve met on our trip. Highly recommended, and we will be back.

Definitely off the beaten path but within a 10min drive from the city. Beautiful view of the ocean and surrounding cliffs, and walking trails with secluded access down to different little beaches and lookout points right outside of the hotel. The rooms were large and clean but outdated and minimal otherwise. The location alone is worth the stay if you’re interested in nature.

Excellent Hotel

A lovely hotel in a fabulous location. Room was spacious, comfortable and clean with an amazing view down the coastline. Perhaps a little expensive for what you get as the breakfast was fairly basic and didn't start until 9.00am which is a bit late if you're going out for the day. No tea or coffee making facilities but that's not a big surprise. Right on the coast path which leads to a couple of good beaches to the East and into Gijon to the West. You can walk into Gijon but its a fair distance and uphill all the way back which after a good meal in town is a bit of a struggle! I would definitely recommend it.

Vistas únicas y buen trato

El hotel se encuentra a las afueras de Gijón en un entorno realmente increíble. Las instalaciones son sencillas, pero tanto la ubicación como el trato recibido en todo momento por el personal fueron excelentes. Totalmente recomendable.

Las habitaciones abuhardilladas y pequeñas. El sitio es espectácular desde la calle, pero la habitación con ventana alta y no tiene vistas salvo que te acerques y te subas a un escaloncito. La cama incomoda y la almohada un horror. El desayuno muy bueno.
