The hotel located near the old town and all things can be seen on walking distance. The hotel was perfect, Nice clean room, good bathroom, friendly personel, and good breakfast. Perfect for aa short visit at Genua! We came by car nd just stopped before the entrance of the hotel, they park you car, easy and safe!
We stayed for 4 nights in a classic room although not huge good standard and very clean and comfortable. Rooms cleaned every day to exceptional standard sweets and nice touch. We were on 4th floor at the front with view of main station piazza nice at night didn't find it to noisy. You have access to sister hotel next door which is great take your swimwear and try the rooftop spa. Really lovely old style Italian hotel. Must mention the staff who were great nothing to much trouble.
This was our third stay at this hotel, and it remains on my list of favorite hotels ever. Much care has been taken to preserve the gorgeous original decor. The breakfast is excellent, the hotel is conveniently located (1 minute from train station, short/beautiful walk to the centre), and the service is very professional. My favorite elevator in the world is here. Recommended without hesitation.
This hotel is excellent placed to visit the city and it is very easy reachable. The service to park your car is very convenient. All the staff is very kind. Room was spacy and well furnished with a bar.
We had a 2 night stay here and it worked so well. Very close to train station but no noise at all. We looked over the Main Street and couldn’t hear a thing and the shutters kept the lights out at night. Reception staff were extremely friendly and helpful at all times. Our classic room was very clean and comfortable and so was the bathroom....couldn’t fault it. Wifi was really fast and the location of the hotel is excellent. We arrived and left by train and we also used the train to go to Cinque Terra which was very convenient. We caught regional train to Corniglia and walked to Monterosso and train back from there....exhausting but great. There are a lot of restaurants nearby and I can recommend Osteria Carabas which is very close up a small lane. We didn’t have breakfast but we did have a nightcap in the Grand Savoia which was great and joined to the Continental. Can thoroughly recommend.
This hotel is just 2 minutes walk from the Piazza Principe rail station and airport bus stop. We booked a basic (‘Classic’) room, which was compact but quite comfortable. However, a bedside lamp did not function and – more importantly – the electronically operated window shutter was broken so that daylight was permanently excluded. When we complained, we were allocated a larger room in which the electrics were quirky to say the least. On one occasion, when turning off the bathroom light, all the lights were extinguished. On another occasion, the room was suddenly plunged into darkness for a couple of seconds. On a third occasion, in the middle of the night we were awakened by all the lights suddenly turning on. We only reported these electrical problems on check out as we did not want to go through the inconvenience of yet another room change. Despite these various problems, the hotel has plenty of positives. The staff are charming and helpful. The breakfast is copious with a very good choice, and the in-house Trattoria is excellent in terms of quality and value for money. Incidentally, the internet quoted price for breakfast is 13 euros per person but, on check in, we were offered it at the reduced price of 10 euros. The wifi connection is excellent, and there is a computer in the lobby for printing your boarding card. All things considered, I would say that this hotel has the potential to be excellent, once it get to grips with its maintenance issues.
The Hotel was excellent. Staff were brilliant and food good also. The great thing about this hotel it was only a couple of minutes from the train station. From there we picked up the hop on/hop off bus, every day, and saw all the sights we wanted too. Cheaper than getting a taxi. Highly recommended.
This is an ideal spot for exploring Genova or the coast as it is so close to the station, yet does not have a huge amount of traffic noise. My room was at the front overlooking the main street, but no problem. Room was spacious by European standrads, and has a link on the first floor to it's larger more upmarket sister hotel the Savoia. Laundry costs, which can be astronomical at some hotels, were quite reasonable. being day 10 of my trip, this was important.
We stayed 2 nights. Room was clean and well maintained. Place has character with old lift but this can also be annoying if someone does not close the door properly. Lovely little trattorias nearby with excellent meals from 8 Euro each. Breakfast in the hotel was good. Very close to train station (but noise not a problem) and bus station.
Hotel is situated in the very centar of Genoa. However rooms are very old -clean but old. Air in the rooms is stiff and when you open the window noise is too loud. Breakfast was nice, though it was my first experience that I needed to pay extra for the omelet when american breakfast is included in the price. Hotel stuff was very nice.
