The price was right. There rooms were clean and correct. Very small, but that is typical here. The people at the reception were kind and spoke a little English. Close too a main bus so at Piazza Corvetto. Good value for money.
Breakfast is poor, bed not so comfortable...Good location, good wifi, parking garage near, big and clean room.Walking distance to centre and port(15 min). Parking on premises, staff very helpful (as parking space very narrow, they brought the car out for me). Excellent coffee at breakfast.
Was impossible to use cellular phones due to the lack of signal. The hotel claims to have wifi service but unfortunately was impossible to use the service with laptop and with smartphone too. I cannot say that was a very good stay. The rooms are old and the breakfast isn't rich. Probably the services are adeguate to the prices.
I booked a room in this hotel for 3 nights. When i got there, i found a good location of it, taking in consideration the old center of Genoa and the most wanted places to visit in this city. Its location is close to piazza de Ferrari where is also Teatro Carlo Felice where i booked tickets for a show. The rooms are dark and, although the furniture looks pretty new, it doesnt look very good. The bath had a poor aspect. The breakfast was made of some fruits yogurt, a few boiled egs and some orange juice with taste of medicines. In the early morning(around 6.30) the garbage service was in duty and they made a lot of noise, togheter with the hotel employees. In the end, its a good choice but only if you eat in some other place and you dont spend too much time in the room.
We have stayed here several times over the past decade. It's every thing we want : nice, clean rooms, individual air conditioning that always works, free WiFi, good shower and nice linens, and a great breakfast. Staff is very nice, speaking enough English to work, parking at reasonable cost, location a short walk from many eateries, and easy walking distance from downtown. All at a reasonable price!
My booking was cancelled by this hotel when I arrived later than the estimated time I told them. It nearly left me stranded with NO ROOM at 7pm in a foreign country. I had never experienced anything like this before in the other countries in which I have traveled. As I am travelling it was not possible for me to phone them to tell them my train was delayed. I had already paid for my deposit and I would have been expected to be charged for the first night if I hadn’t shown up. They gave away my room to another customer so I had to rush around in a city I’m unfamiliar with trying to find another hotel that could accommodate me. They then had the audacity to suggest that I could return to them the next day for the rest of my stay!
The hotel is situated in a strategic area since it's pretty mear to the town center. The room was pretty good even though very old. At night it was pretty cold because the heat wasn't turned on. The staff was cordial and nice and breakfast was really great. I'd say it's a good place to stay for a couple of days but not more
we stay in this cold place, with hard matteress, plus the noise of the dustbin in the night, and people talk in and out next to our room....terrible never again, we asked to change for a quite room but they said that this room was one of the best !!!
The lady checking us in was great, I suspect she was the owner. The room itself was nice, no complaints. However, upon falling very ill (gastro) which was not to the fault of the hotel, I headed to reception at 2am to ask for me toilet paper and a bottle of water (as the tap water was unsafe to drink). The lady at check in assured us it was a 24hr serviced reception desk, so I assumed it would be acceptable to head down, given there was NO more toilet paper as a minimum. No one was at the desk, which I understood at that hour, but when I rang the bell, the 55 year old-ish man awoke from out the back very upset. He eventually gave me a bottle of water after I explained in visual detail how ill I was, but made no effort at customer service and even swore at me in Italian, to my face. He then walked off and went back behind the counter, which I found odd given I also made it clear I NEEDED toilet paper aswell. I waited 2 mins to give him the benefit of the doubt before ringing the bell again. This time he came out abusive and shouting. I remained calm, mainly as I was to ill to work up the energy to get upset as motioned "I really need toilet paper, in the room there is NONE". He explained you are only entitled to whats in the room. Ridiculous given we had 3 people and only two rolls. In the morning I made mention on checkout to the other 40 year oldish male about the incident stressing "i don't want to leave a complaint online, as the stay was great otherwise". He literally laughed in my face and said "it's 2 in the morning. You woke him up. What else did you expect" and literally laughed off my polite attempt at a complaint. When I said "we were told it was a 24hr service, I'm happy to complain online", he smirked as said "I don't care, do what you want". If not for the 2x old male staff, this would have been a good stay.
Imagine all of a sudden deciding to go to a play in Genoa - 3 or so hours from where we live. On a limited budget of course aren't we all Needing a safe parking place and within public transportation access to the Opera !! Presto Hotel Assarotti, park your car in their yard for TEN EURO!! WALKING DISTANCE OF THE OPERA (and I mean really within 10 minutes) Charming reception and a very nice breakfast included Magic I cant wait for the next good reason to go to Genoa and to stay at the hotel assarotti
