My wife and I rarely stay at grand European hotels but we are so glad we stayed here in Genoa. We came down from being almost snowed in from Campo Ligure for a little luxury for a Birthday and were not disappointed by the room, the service. Breakfast is excellent and included in our tariff. We also ate at their Giotto restaurant which is true to its excellent reviews and the Old Bar also has very fine snacks. Looking for comfort in Genoa this is the Place
My wife and I stayed 4 nights in February, 2018 to explorer the City of Genoa and to visit Vernazza & Portfino. We really enjoyed the stay in this hotel because of the perfect location, excellent breakfasat and hospitality showed by hotel staffs. We fully realized that the City of Genoa had wonderful feature in food as well as in fastion.
Since my last review, I've stayed at the Bristol Palace four times. The penultimate was in 2015 when major renovations were taking place, and this caused some inconvenience to my stay. This is the lot of the traveller, and you grin and bear it and hope that next time, all will be well. I stayed here for five nights in February 2018 and I am pleased to report that the same high standards have been maintained, the renovations are complete, and she looks positively beautiful again. Genoa is a town often overlooked by tourists to Italy but it is worth a visit, even just as a starting point to the Cinque Terre, Portofino or further afield to Nice (a fabulous day trip to the west). Those who venture into Genoa will find an old world charm with gorgeous buildings, wonderful cathedrals and stunning art on display everywhere. The Bristol Palace is located in the beautiful centre of Genoa and makes a great starting place for visits to the museums, aquarium, the Palazzo Ducale or the Teatro Carlo Felice opera house (I was lucky to experience Madame Butterfly there in 2015). My pick for the rooms are on the 6th floor when you can experience a wonderful balcony with views of the Palazzo Ducale and the fountain. Beautiful, old-fashioned charm, wonderful service and supreme location make Bristol Palace a must. If you prefer sterile, soulless modern, unimaginative chains, they have them of course, but for the experience, try the Bristol Palace.
Great in the center of the city. Beautiful inside and outside. Excellent breakfast with spumante. Old Town very close. Walking distance to many attractions. I highly recommend to visite here. And the city with all the palaces is great.
We stayed for a short visit in July and just loved it! The location is perfect - just minutes walk from the piazzas - and the staff is lovely (even taking care of a lost bag that the airline had forwarded from Rome). The architecture is divine and the breakfast buffet is incredible. We would never stay anywhere else when in Genoa! The old-world elegance, large rooms, great food, excellent staff and the absence of young, boozy travelers makes this a dream spot! Take time to enjoy the breakfast and feel yourself transported to a more genteel era in history.
Very nice hotel on excellent location to visit Genoa. The staff is very professional, friendly and available. Rooms are nice and clean but there is no bathrobes at the bathrooms. That should not be a standard at a four star hotel.
This is my second visit in this hotel. The first stay was almost 10 years ago as my classmates and I stayed in this hotel for 5 days as we participated in the model united nations conference a few minutes away. As my friends and I decided to visit Genoa I couldn't think of a better hotel to stay in than Bristol Palace. The atmosphere and design of the hotel really makes you feel you are in a real palace. The staff is very friendly with good English. The rooms are spacey and clean. The roomservice is good. The food is really really delicious and offers a great variety. Finally and most importantly, the location of the hotel is at the centre of Genoa making it very easy to go around the city. Best experience ever in beautiful Genoa!!
You will feel royal staying here but with a reasonable price. The staff is as good as you will encounter anywhere and speak good English. Everything is marble and stone even in the rooms. There is a huge spiral staircase through the middle. The rooms are huge and clean, well kept with very high ceilings. They a pass to local gym right behind the hotel. The buffet breakfast is ver nice with lots of variety. Stay in palace!
The Hotel has a very good location in order to visit the city and its main places of interest. The staff of the hotel is very friendly and helpful. Special thanks for the Receptionist who spoke spanish to my parents. Also thanks for the boys in the restaurant. Very friendly. The architecture of the hotel ist amazing and the room was big and quiet luxury. Everything excellent.
With shops at your doorstep and walking distance to my work, it was an ideal location. Great, friendly staff, from housekeeping to F&B... especially during the evening meals - a special mention to Marco who always greeted me and accommodated all my needs. A wide selection at the breakfast buffet and mouth-watering dishes for the evening. I would definitely come back again on my next visit to Genova.
