Booked this hotel as the hotel in Geneva were ridiculous prices. This hotel is on the French side in Annemassee, close to the bus stop, bus 61route, and also to restaurants, shops and supermarkets. It's not a 5 star hotel but it is clean, has the basics like tv, daily room clean, a 24 hrs desk, free wifi. It's actually very comfortable. They don't have tea / coffee facilities in the room but you can go downstairs near the reception and there is a tv area where there are tea/coffee facilities. I even brought the tea to my room for added comfort. There is ample shops right next door,so it's convenient to all conveniences and Cheaper than Geneva .
The hotel has lovely and helpful staff. Is situated near to Mont Blanc and the cleanliness is 4 star plus the fluffy pillows and beds👌. Close the shops and restaurants ! Breakfast was fresh and had enough options for a morning snack
Great location in the town centre, with plenty of secure parking. Simple but quite big rooms which appear to have been recently updated. Fast free wifi but a work light on the desk would have been a plus. Friendly staff, but I was astonished going into the breakfast room to be told that my dog was not alllowed. A bit pricey for a two-star hotel.
Clean and Comfort Hotel. The stuff is really helpful and kind. It has a 24 hours desk service which is very important. The room are clean and meticulous and although I was worried about the road noises in front of my room, the soundproofing was good so I didn't have a bad noise-experience.. The wifi was very bad, but they told me that they where on the middle of the renovation and that after that it would be fixed. At the end they offer free parking but it is not organized. The parking places are not enough so you have to get back early to catch up a place.
Location of the hotel adjacent to town centre is ideal and also not far from bus stops to Geneva. Hotel staff were polite, cheerful and helpful. Room was clean, warm and well proportioned; it was cleaned each day along with replacement towels, etc.
Paid around €20-25 euros for a night between 4 people. Nice hotel, doesn't seem 2*! Annemasse isn't the loveliest town I've stayed in, but within easy access of Geneva, saves you paying the Swiss premiums to stay there. Was a great stop for our final night of travelling.
This hotel is a good option when u plan a trip to Geneva or the area around. It is very clean and the stuff is helpful in every situation. When we arrived we could already check in around 12:30. Later we noticed that the blind was broken, so we couldnt move it upwards. The stuff offerd us a new room right away. We didnt use the breakfest offer (8€), so we can not judge it. Due to the central location it is loud at night and sleeping with open window nearly impossible (at least for me, but i am a very light sleeper..) The hotel is well located, many café's around, where you can enjoy typical french bakery. If you plan to go to Geneva, bus Nr. 61 is the best choice, it starts from Annamasse gare (main station) and needs around 30min. to Geneva main station. For around 3€ its a cheap and convinient solution. All in all this hotel is worth its money.
Loved our stay,we loved the balcony.Helpful staff and budget prices.Only problem is if you want to party in Geneva, the bus 61 stops around 1030.The train station is also not far away. There are loads of cafes n restaurants nearby.
I am happy that I decided to stay in Annemasse rather than Geneva. The pricing of the hotel is just optimal and the hotel had all basic amenities. It is centrally located at Annemasse town. Bus No 61 to Geneva can be boarded just after after crossing the road from the hotel and Geneva is 35 min by this bus. The Annemasse SNCF train station is 0.5 km away. Hence you can travel to Chamonix even early in the morning and return by late night. There are a lot of restaurants in the same lane (surprisingly 3 Indian restaurants also).. The hotel staff were very friendly. Mr.Olivier, the manager was very helpful and can speak good English. I booked by calling him by phone and then confirmation was obtained by email. For other staff, it is better that we learn some French as they speak very little English. The rooms were spacious and the elevators are good. The Breakfast is good enough for Business travellers like me.
The Place is an almost perfect example of what European mid-range hotels used to be forty years ago. Frankly, that wasn't very good, and for all our complaints about faceless corporate chains, it stands as a reminder that the general standard of accommodation has improved dramatically since then. The rooms are plain and spare, with authentically tired furniture dating from the early 1970s. A bed, a wobbly and small fake-veneer wardrobe, a cheap table and a cheaper chair is pretty much all you get. The bathroom is a bit more modern, but not much. There's a telephone in the room (mine didn't work), a weakish but adequate wi-fi signal, and a small TV with the local channels. The heating system appeared to function about as well as the telephone did -- no small matter at a time of year when the night-time temperature outside was getting down to -10C. Though there's nothing about the hotel that will attract visitors other than nostalgics like myself, it does have its virtues. It's reasonably clean; the staff are genial; and the location, if you need to be in Annemasse at any rate, can't be beaten. For people looking for a cheaper alternative to Geneva hotels, though, it's probably not very suitable because of its inaccessibility. To get there, you'll need to take the no. 12 tram to Moillesulaz and then switch either to the no. 1 TAC 'bus, stopping at Jura, or, after walking up the Rue de Genève a couple of hundred metres, pick up the no. 2, getting off at Deffaugt, right outside the hotel. But the last service for both of these 'buses departs at 22:20 (and there's no Sunday service at all). Miss them, and you're either facing a brisk half-hour walk from Moillesulaz, or a pricey taxi journey that will wipe out much of your savings. The Place, then, is a hotel suitable for sleeping and nothing else, for people who require to be in Annemasse or Ambilly. If that's all you need, it'll be quite OK for a short stay.
