243/5000 I spent a week in Sopot and stayed at Hotell Haffner. The service was very good, the breakfast was superb. The staff were professional and also very friendly. Next time I come to Sopot (in next summer) I will stay at Haffner !!!
We have just booked again for 2018!!! This will be the third year in a row at Hotel Haffner! From the moment you arrive, being greeted by a nice man offering to carry your luggage, to departure, all the hotel staff that pass you, give you a welcoming smile and a nice greeting! Our room was on the third floor, and had a balcony. It was very comfortable with American Style Air-Conditioning, meaning it actually works very well! We were lucky to have such a nice room to come back to after a hot day in the Sun. At 5.00pm every evening we played Bridge in the Baltic Congress, which was taking place very nearby the hotel. Then we took a short walk into the centre for our evening meal. We enjoyed drinks & cocktails after dinner in the bar downstairs, or sometimes on the hotel terrace, listening to the crickets! Hotel has very high speed internet access throughout which has no charge. The Spa, which both myself & my husband used several times, for massage and treatments for me, is just superb. Very high quality products and services by a very professional team. The pool & gymn are also available for hotel guests use. There is also a very nice bar on the Hotel Haffner Beach area. This year they have added changing rooms and extra toilets, and have a new sand area for sun bathing at a nominal charge for towels bed and umbrellas. There is also a children's playground in the sand that seems to have lots of toys. The pool in the hotel is a lovely temperature. Only problem is there is no shallow area for bad swimmers - you are immediately into very deep water. There are floating devices to help and when you get to the top end you are rewarded with 2 fantastic water jet massage areas!There is also a hot tub .
while visiting Sopot during the first week of September we decided to have a Sunday brunch at the Haffner hotel. The food was great, freshly made according to our tastes and individual prefereces. I would like to point out a very friendly staff especially the cook Mr. Peter as well as Mr. Bartosz. We will definitely visit this place again Thank you !!!!
Efficient check in and a warm welcome. Assisted with luggage to our room. Lovely room at the front of the hotel. Nice big comfortable bed. Bathroom with toilet and also a separate toilet. Toiletries and towels provided and replenished daily. The pool is really nice as are the slippers and dressing gowns provided. 10-25mins walk into centre and 5 mins to private beach. Would have given 5* but the mini bar wasn't always re-stocked and there were three of us in the room but they only ever left 2 bottles of water. (The water was free however). Glasses in the bathroom or for the mini bar were never changed or clean ones left for us during our stay. Also we went to the private beach one day and asked if they had towels. We were told we needed tickets from reception. This and the price of 20 polish zlotys per sun bed was never explained to us. There were only 2/3 brollies for the all the beds so no shade available for the little one. Overall we would stay here again but would expect better housekeeping.
If you want to sleep do not stay here! It's 11 pm and some outside company is having a party in the courtyard! Very loud, shouting and singing non stop and we can hear every word in our room! 2 phone calls to reception later all we got is apology and promise to quiet it down again (as had lots of phone calls already). Well it's not working and the party is supposed to end at 2am! They can't move us either as don't have any free rooms! Not happy at all!
Didn't stay at the hotel but went to use the spa facilities one day as it was recommended by a local. If you are not a guest at the hotel, it costs 80 zloty to use the spa, very expensive considering all you get is a towel, changing facility and use of a very small pool/jacuzzi/sauna/steam room. Not sure if the price includes they gym but even if it does, it is still expensive. If you spend a minimum of 140 zloty on a treatment then the use of the spa is inclusive (plus you get a bathrobe) but you have to book as there are limited therapists. Overall, disappointed with services and will not be returning.
Travelled with grandparents & family consisting of parents 4,2 & 1 year old. Hotel is in great location for beach access & many restaurants of Sopot in easy walking distance. We requested late checkout & were accommodated for one of our 3 rooms. We had a suite & 2 interconnecting rooms. The rooms are in great condition - clean, spacious & well equipped with storage. The beds were the extremely hard & we had a daily jackhammer directly below our room waking children during lunch sleeps. I contacted reception daily & it was ceased only to be replaced by intermittent loud drilling. This resulted in our baby being unable to sleep & requiring long walks in the park to sleep. We chose this hotel due to children's facilities. While hotel markets as child friendly we found the staff offered no assistance and were not helpful in this regard. Every breakfast we had to hunt down a high chair & arrange table to suit our group without help. The playroom is good - but unsupervised & disorganised with toys spread all over the room during our stay. The pool is wonderful for kids. Only issue we had were inconsistent staff at the pool - creating barriers to bringing children to pool. We were allowed pram on several occasions to be parked at spa - other occasions told not allowed & were told to return it to room (difficult when bringing 3 children for a swim). Also generally allowed a bag onto pool deck - except certain days where we were not allowed to take a bag in even though it contained the things required for swimming. For a family friendly hotel - we found staff were not helpful & more interested in chatting & creating barriers than helping, serving or offering assistance. The actual hotel & location are wonderful. Management really need to train staff to be of assistance to families rather than a hindrance. Great hotel - but be aware it is more child equipped than child friendly.
I stayed at this lovely hotel with my family for a week and it was a wonderful experience. The service before we arrived was excellent. Jakub in the office ensured that we had four large rooms together ready for us when we arrived, a large taxi with a car seat waiting at the airport and a friendly welcome. The hotel is beautifully-appointed, the rooms, bathrooms and public rooms are all sparkling clean and comfortable and the reception and restaurant staff are very helpful. The swimming pool area (including the lovely large pool, sauna and steam bath) was of a very high standard and my grandchildren loved the Pirate Room, the children's play area. The hotel is in a quiet area, a short walk from the beautful beach and the centre. It was a perfect place for a family to spend a wonderful holiday. .
Dear Hotel Haffner, Your hotel is wonderfully appointed. Really beautiful rooms. But…why is the bed so uncomfortable? This is why I’ll probably choose another hotel on my next trip to Sopot. However, you have much more serious service issues – I mentioned the loads of trash on the terrace to your reception twice, but nothing happened. I even wrote to your Twitter account, but I later saw that the last time you had used this was in 2010. So, pardon me for using TripAdvisor to get through to you folks. Your spa area is lovely, but it doesn’t help to have a lifeguard if he lets children yell and scream and bash each other with Styrofoam toys while others are trying to swim laps. Your housekeeping is very shoddy. My room was quite clean when I arrived – and when I leave in the morning, I both tidy up and leave a tip – I was there for three nights. However, the first day, housekeeping took the used towels (which were hanging neatly on the rack), but neglected to replace them. They also just screwed the cap back on the empty bottle of shampoo. The next day, the instant coffee wasn’t renewed – which could be a simple oversight. But what was really odd was that the dirty cup wasn’t even removed. And no new towels. Down on your terrace in front of the hotel, bird poop and cigarette ashes lingered for several days on the tables. And in general, no one from your staff can seem to be bothered to replace chairs that have been moved to other tables or remove used glasses and trash – at 11 PM on Thursday, guests were partying on the terrace. At 8 AM the next morning, their glasses and trash were still on the ground and on table. The next night, Friday, there had been a party. Yet on Saturday at 8AM, the terrace was still strewn with popped balloons, streamers, glasses, cigarette butts, and other trash. Getting a mixed drink in your bar is…well…difficult. When I asked your bartender for a “Dry Vodka Martini Cocktail”, he proceeded to pour double shots of Dry Martini to a single shot of vodka. When I asked that he reverse the proportions, he curtly informed me that he had been a bartender for 25 years… It took some persuasion to keep him from putting a slice of Roquefort cheese in the drink. I have no clue what recipe book this fellow is going by, but it is very...alternative. Honestly, this is a classic cocktail and he should know better. Oh, and sometimes this cocktail cost PZN 20 and other times PZN 11. Haffner, you have a problem… Finally, when your breakfast guests start shouting from the restaurant to their friends hanging out of windows two floors up, you might consider that other guests could well be sleeping at 7:45 on a Sunday morning. Even though your breakfast buffet is wonderful, waking up to the sound of noisy guests does put a damper on things. Your staff did nothing to stop the noise. Sorry for the snarky review, but you do have a beautiful hotel, only 10 minutes to either the beach or downtown. But your staff training is truly dire. No one really seems to give a damn about living up to the four stars you display next to your entrance.
Great staff, excellent food, perfect room size. An old-fashioned well maintained hotel that offers everything you need.They have an excellent swimming pool with jacuzzi and nearby saunas. They also offer massage services. The hotel has a smaller meeting room, which can accommodate up to 40-50 people.I came pretty late and asked for a restaurant service to prepare me something quick for a dinner. It seemed to me that it was not a problem, they did everything superbly. Bravo for professionalism.
