Long Weekend with Friends

All around great experience! We had a group of 19 adults and there was plenty of space for all of us. The cabin is beautiful both inside and out. The views of the mountains are also incredible. Swim spa was a hit with the group and a major plus for this property! Can’t beat the location also. You will be close enough to everything in downtown Gatlinburg, but still feel the seclusion of a mountain cabin as other cabins are a good distance apart. Hosts are kind, responsive, and do a wonderful job making this property feel like a home for your stay! 10/10 would stay here again and I recommend this property for any large group.

Fantastic cabin stay

We had an amazing stay at this cabin with our group of 18! The spacious master suites provided the adults with plenty of comfort, and the thrill of spotting bears nearby added an unforgettable touch to our trip. However, we decided not to use the fire pit to roast marshmallows for this reason! The cabin's convenient proximity to town made it easy to explore local attractions. The owner was also very responsive. Highly recommend!

Lovey home, easy access into home. Just a little far to walk to town though. Downhill would be ok but coming back would be too hard on older people.

Great Location

The location to the main strip was great. Once down the hill just steps from Ober to your right and the Smokey Mt park a short drive to your left. The walk down to the strip wasn’t as difficult as going up. We walked down but when we returned we had some who easily could walk up the steep hill get the car and drive us up. The house did Not feel cramped with our family of 16 - only 5 were under 14. The host was responsive to anything that came up. We would stay there again. The kids had a great time in their space on the lower floor.

Great location!

Pros: location to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Size of the house for large groups was great. We enjoyed seeing the bears - maybe too many? lol The bears were not at all afraid of us and walked right up to the porch and over the gate while we were on it. Cons: would have been nice to have dressers in the bedrooms and hangers in the closets. Between all 6 bedrooms we found 5 or 6 hangers to share. We had to live out of our suitcases for the week.

Family time

Wonderful vacation home. Bears were a little worrying, we had a few in the backyard several times. Driveway was a bit crowded for five vehicles and Savage Road would be improved if a few mirrors would added to help with the very tight turns.

Family Retreat

Overall the house and property were nice. Great location & proximity, saw bears about every day. However, there were some things about the house that should be noted to future bookings First, the bedrooms, particularly the downstairs two bedrooms, are much smaller than they appear. There are no dressers in those rooms and no room for one. There are no closets. It's a tight space. All of the bedrooms were a tight fit. Even the living room looks much larger in pictures than it actually is. There is one sectional couch in there and not room for another couch. Nice, but tight. There were several maintenance issues which had not been addressed recently. The day we arrived, multiple toilet seats were loose to the point of falling off the toilets, the sliding door to the porch was nearly impossible to open (adults had to help the children), lights were burned out. Nothing major, but obviously not tended to closely between groups staying there. Lastly, there were centipedes everywhere on the bottom floor, and they were making their way to the upper floor as well. We probably killed more than 300 in the 4 nights / 5 days. It was constant. We had kids ready to sleep on an air mattress and couldn't do it because of the bugs. I did contact the owner of the house and she sent out a maintenance person to spray around the house within a few hours, but it didn't help for the remainder of the trip. Overall, it was a nice house to stay in, but like most VRBO homes, it had it's issues.

Tennessee is the best

This property was amazing and suited our gathering perfectly. Location is super convenient, views are fantastic and that swim spa was amazing. We had campfires, watched the bluebirds, played cards and just relaxed. We ziplined, coastered, had a dinner with pirates, and shopped til we dropped. The house was equipped with everything we needed to make our big Easter dinner, brunches, late night snacks. The dinner table sat all 10 of us together! The bunk rooms in the basement were a great escape for the 5 kids...they were 4 teenagers and an 8 year old, but this vacation let them relax and be kids again. They giggled and told stories and had "sleepovers" and had good old fashioned fun. The adults each had their own space as well, bathrooms for each bedroom which was perfect. Beds were very comfortable and furnishings all very country. There were 2 dishwashers so we were spoiled!! Now i want 2 dishwashers at home. This is one of my favorite places we have stayed. Definitely would stay here again if we come back to Gatlinburg. Thank you so much!

Gorgeous Views and Perfect Location

Perfect location in Gatlinburg, on the edge of the Smokey Mountains with an amazing view from almost every room. The house had plenty of space for our family of 10. Very clean, comfortable beds and furniture and everyone enjoyed the huge hot tub overlooking Anakeesta. Quiet and peaceful outside space for our dogs as well as a fire pit. Located close to the only trail in Gatlinburg that allows dogs for our daily walks. Convenient little store at the bottom of the hill, to pick up food, snacks, drinks and adult beverages with a gas station next door. We had a great time exploring the area for a week vacation. We also enjoyed relaxing and cooking breakfast and dinner in the kitchen. Eva was very easy to communicate with and we had no issues or problems with anything. We hope to come visit again soon.

Perfect Location!

Overall for a big group, it's the perfect cabin! It's a short drive to town but you still have a good view of the mountains. It's easy access to the park being on the south end of Gatlinburg, which our group liked. The pool/hot tub was a favorite- it's easy to use and is a good size for the five kids we brought with us. I will note that the living room is considered a 'bedroom' and it's where the sofa sleepers are. Keep in mind that if you plan on cooking/utilizing the kitchen, I suggest bringing extra kitchen hand towels, as there were only a few supplied, and we could only find one oven mitt. The two upper rooms in the house do not cool as much as the rest of the place, but do each have a ceiling fan. Overall it was a great place and we will be booking here again when we plan another Gatlinburg trip!

Christmas Family Vacation

This place was very beautiful, and in a great location. The host was very communicative and helpful with anything we needed. We did see bears which was the highlight of our trip. The house was very accommodating, and spacious with lots of windows to view nature from inside. The outdoor area was well lite…we used the fire pit and they provided wood. This house had everything we needed including a Christmas tree. It was 11 of us and we were super comfortable. I will say this when the trash outside gets full, you have to go to across the way to dump it for free… it closes at 4pm and the others closes at 6pm just keep that in mind. We will be returning 5⭐️’s!!!!

Great place to stay!

There were 17 of us and we all thoroughly enjoyed Hoobear Lodge during our family vacation! Cabin was beautiful and clean. Host was quick to respond to any questions we had and took great care of us during our stay. There were lots of reviews about how steep the road is to the cabin, but it really wasn't bad. Just take it slow and it's fine! Lots of bear sightings which the kids, old and young, loved!

Great Family Retreat!

The road to the house is paved but extraordinarily steep with a hairpin turn and drop offs. The good news - it a short drive up the mountain from downtown. If you are aware and can be prepared it is manageable. If you are not expecting it, it is terrifying. You can walk to downtown but it is not feasible with kids. On the positive side, the house is very nice. It is comfortable and had plenty of room for our group. The mama bear and triplets are worth the trip. We saw them every day. The kids loved the hot tub - we could not get them out. Be prepared to launder lots of towels! Once you get there, it is a beautiful and enjoyable spot! Fun was had by all!
