Villa Rachele is a stunning luxury property just a few hundred metres from the beaches, shops, restaurants and services of Gargnano. A new restoration of an ancient traditional Limonaia structure, the villa has stunning views throughout and total exclusive privacy and quiet. With original stone walls and pillars, open onto the terraced Limonaia gardens on many levels, the villa is a perfect blend of indoor and outdoor living in total privacy. Built originally in the 1700s, and completely rennovated in 2015, the villa is steeped in both comfort and history.
The villa sleeps 9 in 4 bedrooms with 4 bathrooms, AC in 2 bedrooms and WIFI throughout. The two lounge areas are luxurious and bright, beautifully furnished with quality designer furnishings. There is a fully equiped kitchen, dining both inside and outside (with Barbecue), stunning views from almost all angles of the house. The outside areas are also fully furnished, with sun loungers along the waterfront, lovely terraced gardens with olives and lemon trees, fully integrated with the house itself, so inside and outside all feel like one perfect space.

The villa is easy walking distance to the town, lake, shops and restaurants. It is about 300m up a steep narrow road, and we provide a baggage service to bring your luggage up from the parking below to the villa entrance. Because of this special road, the villa has total and absolute privacy usually impossible in a property so centrally located. There is no private parking in front of the villa, but guests are provided with 2 parking passes that will permit parking in any public parking space in the city. There are two public parking lots right below the villa, about 150m from the front door by the pedestrian path (with stairs).

Dining : Ac in the leaving-dining room at the first floor, the table in the kitchen seats 10, and just outside on the porch with awning there is another table for 10 with Barbecue.
Lounge : Two lounge areas with garden and lake views, one a dedicated TV room with sofas for 6 people, and the other an elegant sitting room with seating for 6+.
Media: Television in the TV lounge cable channels, astra satellite channels, and streaming services. Tv in the master bedroom with digital cable.

The town of Gargnano, with a ferryboat port and marina, is about 300m down the tiny access road. A city steeped in history and charm, Gargnano started as a monastery in the 1200s, where the monks grew lemons. And from here begins the long and fascinating history of the limonaie of Gargnano. The town blossomed and grew, lemons its principle industry, and it was completely hedged in by mountains and lakes, isolated with access only from the lake until the 1930s when the lakeside highway was built. As a result Gargnano has developed and maintained an extraordinary and unique local flavour and charm. The town has a plethora of quaint small local shops and restaurants. Though only a small village, Gargnano boasts not one, but two Michelin star restaurants: Villa Feltrinelli and Tartugha. And for less formal nights out, there are a number of excellent restaurants and pizzerias, some right on the waterfront with lakeside tables.

Amazing views near a charming town
The views at the villa are breathtaking and better than the photos. The pool was perfect for our group of two families with kids ages 6-9. The walk to town was short but down a steep hill - other routes to town were available that were not as challenging. We fell in love with Gargnano - the people, the restaurants, the views, the gelato. Novella was quick to respond to any questions or requests we had and the check in process was very easy.

The most wonderful villa in the perfect location
Villa Rochelle is simply wonderful. The villa has everything you need and over many levels which lead into the many bedrooms.
The kitchen is well equipped with all you need to make your morning coffee or a pasta dish with ingredients from the nearby shops. The deli in town is called Bignotti and has everything from wine to cheese to meats.
All bedrooms are well equipped and the top two bedrooms have aircon. The other bedrooms have fans.
The tv room is great and the massive tv has apps that allow you to access Netflix or Prime on your own account (remember to log out....).
The balcony area is just wonderful and this is what draws most of the pictures of the villa - it's every bit the stunning vista and the awnings give the shade if the sun is too much. Looking over the lake watching the boats can while away the hours - pour some wine and watch the world go by.
The gardens are spectacular and over 5 levels. The swimming pool is fantastic. We went in September and after 2 seconds, you get used to the temperature (diving off the little springboard makes this easier...).
The host Novella was always available (both before and during) and gave advice and instruction which was very welcome. We had a slight issue with wifi and was fixed the same day.
The villa uses the 3 prong Italian plug she make sure your adapters can work with these - there are a few in the villa to help though.
The villa and location are fantastic and you will not be disappointed if you book.

Stunning villa in wonderful location
A stunning villa in a wonderful location above the village of Gargnano. The interior layout works very well for a family or group of friends ( we were a family of eight). Only slight drawback is that two of the bedrooms don't have AC so can get hot.The exterior terraces and pool are really great with superb lake views. A short 5/10 minute walk takes you down to the village with easy access for swimming in the lake and a variety of excellent bars and restaurants. So overall a great place to stay.

Spitzenklasse mit kleinem Manko
Das Objekt und auch die Betreuung ist absolut klasse. Ein absolutes Manko ist, daß es kein direkte Zufahrt und keine festen Parkplätze gibt. Bei An- und Abreise und nach Einkäufen muss man alles über zwei mögliche Wege (einer kofferrollentauglich ca. 300m und einer unbefestigt ca. 200 m. Die Entfernung ist stark vom Parkplatz den man findet abhängig ) schleppen. Es stehen nur öffentliche Parkplätze zur Verfügung die in der Urlaubszeit heiß begehrt sind (Parkausweise sind im Mietpreis enthalten, parken ohne extrem teuer). Will man zum See muß man eine stark befahrene Hauptstraße überqueren, der erste Zugang ans Wasser ist direkt am Parkhaus des Ortes und wird als Hundehof und Mülleimer genutzt. All das sollte man wissen, das Haus und der 20m Pool machen das aber definitiv wett.
