Our stay at Beaver Chief Acres was a nightmare! Our family of 14 checked in Friday night at 5pm and were overwhelmed with how HOT the home was! The living room, kitchen & front bedrooms never cooled down to under 86° (90-95° in the kitchen). The back bunk room has a mini-split that does not turn on. We did notify the host & an HVAC tech was scheduled Saturday.
We unloaded our groceries into the refrigerators & freezers only to find that NONE of them ever cooled properly!
One would think that the A/C and appliances would be turned on prior to guests’ arrival!
The pool is lovely, but there was dried animal feces all around the pool deck. Again, we notified the host & after sending pictures, we received no response to this issue.
The final straw came when we wanted to take showers & found that the sulfur smell in the water was overwhelming! It smelled like sewage! I filled one of the bathtubs & the water was BROWN & smelled repulsive!
By 9:00pm, after being there for 4 hours, I felt it was not safe for my family to stay in this home with the lack of air conditioning & clean water so we decided we would pack up & leave early the next morning & agreed with the host that we would pay for one night only, so we were gone by 9am. We were there for 16 hours.
We paid a fortune for a 3-night stay. After much back and forth with Vacasa and the host, I wound up receiving refunds for less than half of the total, which left me paying an exorbitant rate for ONE MISERABLE NIGHT. DO BETTER!
