This is my third visit to Gangneung, and I always choose to stay at this hotel. It offers a calm ocean view at a reasonable price. The owners are friendly and always ensure the facilities are clean and well-maintained. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and well-equippedโ€”perfect for all types of travellers. The worst mattress ever. I wasnโ€™t able to sleep at all. It was as hard as concrete. I requested another room but was told they all have the same mattress. The hotel itself is old and a bit run down. Thereโ€™s no AC in the hallways. The room was old and the balcony view of the ocean also had a great view of high tension power cords right next to the balcony, which is a bit decrepit. Do NOT stay here if you value sleep and comfort.

The hotel is right at the beach, which is great. The beach itself has a toilet facility nearby. The hotel has been renovated recently, and everything is clean. There is a CU on the first floor which is another big plus. The only minus is that restaurants are about 5-10 minute walk.

Perfect location short walk to beach. Ocean view room was great. Room was modern and clean. Really nice bathroom with all large sized toiletries which are much more eco friendly than small individual bottles. Staff at check in were lovely. Bottled water was in room and was replaced daily. Towels were a little on the small side but thatโ€™s common in Korea. Walkable to local food street and convenience store is on site.

Good location and decent hotel

This hotel was conveniently located for us when we were in town for the Olympics. It was a short 15 minutes drive with a taxi from the train station to the hotel. Getting to the Olympic ice area was less than 10 minutes with the taxi. The office staff helped up with arranging the taxi - super friendly front desk staff. The hotel is located next to a 24 hour convenience store so we were able to get snacks for our room. There is a snackbar restaurant and coffee shop a few doors up, which is is nice. . Water dispenser in the hallway made it easy. Elevator worked well. The room was nice and warm - we read prior reviews about how it being cold but our room had radiant floor heating. It actually worked too well - we had to open the window to cool it down but the fresh air (freezing outside) was nice. A simple room but it had all the things one would need - shampoo, conditioner, hair dryer, gel, electric tea kettle, coffee, other toiletries..The beds were ok - not great but we slept well enough. The only thing missing from this room was a proper chair to sit on. Other than that it had all we needed.

Amazing service and facilities

It is a family running motel. I didnt get the room I originally booked due to so called 'system error'. However the owner's couple really tried to sort us out and their friendly services were amazing! Also, enough secure parking spaces, lifts and the hotel is literally across a road from lovely Donghae sea beach side. So at the end I was very satisfied with the stay. (Once booked, I would urge you to call them and double check your booking beforehand. Two very lovely senior couples with not so good with computer.)
