Had a wedding here at the weekend. on arrival we had a lovely array of food, tea, coffee etc. The hotel was spotless, good atmosphere in the bar. The ballroom was looking beautiful. The food was fab from start to finish. We had a lovely banqueting staff Matthew and Paddy. Very helpful and nice. It was a large wedding and the service was superb no delay what so ever. Really enjoyed the place. Will definetly be
We meet for lunch monthly and have a great time every time. We want to compliment Siobhan our waitress she always goes above and beyond with customer Services and doing that little bit extra and to shane the chef that does fabulous wraps will see you again next month.
We recently stayed here for a wedding. Reception on arrival was beautiful canapés champagne etc. Ballroom was stunning also. Food was good a little salty for my liking as I don't add salt to food. Our room was big spacious, had a balcony but the door was locked. Air was a bit weird. The only thing I really didn't like was breakfast the next morning. We were at breakfast at 8.00 so you would expect everything to be fresh but the fry came across as uncooked, like as if the food was partial cooked night before and then put out that morning. Pity really.
Stayed there on Saturday night Delighted with the professionalism of staff especially Karen who remembered my name as I had a late check in Great atmosphere Bar was in flying form Bedroom was warm Very clean Bathroom bright and spotless Breakfast buffet set out wonderfully Food piping hot Looking forward to next weekend when I re visit Keep up the good work
Stayed here over midterm. Kids club had them entertained as much or as little as they wanted. Breakfast and dinner erecting covered as part of the day too! Staff were lovely and friendly all of the time Rooms clean Even though my dinner order was incorrect one night, the staff kept me up to sped on the new order & the salmon was worth the wait
We just had dinner here this evening in the Canal Bar. The food was delicious, there was 7 of us and we all ordered something different and not one complaint, fresh and tasty. The staff are just fantastic, they all had a smile and were very welcoming. Will definitely be back!!
We had a nice stay in this family hotel. The kids club was good although the novelty wore off for our kids after a couple of visits. Had dinner in the bar twice, the vegetarian options & desserts were very nice - would recommend. The pool was good & very warm though steam room not working. Sauna very good & jacuzzi excellent. Breakfast 5 star quality & the croissants were fabulously fresh. A playground or kids playroom (or something for older kids e.g. pool table etc) that would entertain kids during the day would be a plus for this hotel as there's not much touristic to do in ballinasloe unfortunately. We took a trip to Galway - so plenty within driving distance. Pity there's no small museum or anything worth visiting in the town. We had a family meal out at Noor Tandoori which would highly recommend. All hotel staff very friendly. 2 huge weddings the weekend we stayed but we barely noticed. Spa very nice too. Would recommend.
We stayed here recently whilst visiting family. The view out of the window in our room was a bit of a let down, our view was looking onto a roof which was full of cigarette ends. The room was a decent size and the beds were comfortable. Breakfast had a great choice although the chef was struggling to keep up to the amount of people having breakfast, my husband had to wait for bacon one of the mornings. The staff however made up for any issues we had especially the lady on reception who was really helpful and made us feel really welcome,(she was on for check in and check out) This is a large hotel and lots going on all the time but I would recommend for other to stay!
A beautiful hotel for our last 3 nights in Ireland. Rooms were spacious and very comfortable. We were on the top floor with a nice view but usually arrived back to the hotel at night after a full day of sightseeing. This hotel had an air control unit that you could adjust but I'd swear it was just for show. Never was able to get the room to my preferred temp (very cool) at night. Excellent bar/bistro area and breakfast dining area. Full Irish breakfast as well. You can request (as with most hotels in Ireland) an omelet, poached eggs, or boiled eggs since the buffet usually has only scrambled and fried. Great variety of juices and fruits. The reasons this hotel didn't rate Excellent for me: 1. they were the only hotel we stayed in (4 total) that didn't offer currency exchange. 2. the shower always leaked water all over the floor (even though we were careful about making sure the shower door/seals were properly placed) so we'd have to use our towels to mop up the water. We usually don't ask for new towels on a daily basis, but this forced us to do so. As with most hotels in Ireland - no washcloths, no separate conditioner (conditioning shampoo offered but it's just not enough conditioning for my naturally curly hair), no refrigerator even though there is the cabinet for it, no ice bucket and no floor ice machine (ice has to be obtained from the bar).
I had the lamb 12 euros, good size portion, mash and stuffing, gravy were nice, but peas were over cooked. plenty of jugs of water available .Chef and the person the till were polite. The woman who was cleaning the tables (small with blonde hair) was very rude. I had my tray left on the table with my napkins on it. She just walked over to the table said nothing, grabbed the tray, flicked the napkins off on to the table. Their was water on the tray, which was sprinkled all over the table. Beggars belief. I will be back as I like the food and its not bad value.
