The hosts are the best! The breakfast is unbelievable every single morning, decadent and healthy at the same time. Lorraine & Jan (Owners) are like staying at a relatives house... that you love! :o) Best vacation we have ever had, relaxing, plenty to see, Galena is historic & beautiful, and the hosts are very helpful with places to go. You have to stay here, it is the best!

My wife and I had a very nice stay at the Belle Aire, our room was nice, the breakfasts really hit the spot! The owners made our dinner reservations for us, a very nice time at the Belle Aire! Close enough that we could be in the Old Town in a few minutes, far enough away that it was nice and quiet.

Nice people lovely old home, just very accommodating. The breakfast delicious in quaint dining room. they just go out of their way for you! Great old house stairs are a challenge but we just felt it was great.

We recently spent two nights at the Belle Aire Mansion Guest House and absolutely loved it. The house itself was marvelous. I love old houses and this one did not disappoint. When we arrived we were met at the door by Lorraine and given a tour of the downstairs area of the house. She then took us upstairs to our room which was at the very top of the stairs. We had the canopy suite. We had originally wanted a different room but it was not available and this turned out to be in our favor. The room was beautiful. It had a fireplace and a hot tub. The canopy bed was a queen size and very comfortable. The furnishings and decorating were perfect. Along both sides of the fireplace were bookshelves absolutely loaded with books of any kind. There were nice touches around the room but it did not seem cluttered. The B&B's I have stayed in always seem to be decorated more feminine than masculine and this was the same way which I enjoyed and my husband did not mind. This room was a suite so we had a sitting room area, There was a door between the two rooms that you could close if for instance you had someone with you who was sleeping on the sofa bed in that room. The only thing that would have made it better was to have a TV in that room also. There was of course a TV in the bedroom area but if you were traveling with other people you would all have to sit in the bedroom area to watch TV and this may create a problem if the people in that bed wanted to sleep but the people in the sitting room sofa bed wanted to watch TV. There is a couch in the bedroom area also so everyone doesn't have to sit on the bed. The bathroom was large with big fluffy towels. My husband smokes but of course there is no smoking in the Inn. They had a veranda upstairs where he could go to smoke which was very close to our room right near the coffee bar where coffee was available starting at 6:00 every morning. The breakfast was very good. The first morning we had pecan french toast and the second morning we had an egg and cheddar cheese casserole. There was always some type of fresh made bread and fresh fruit to go with breakfast. Lorraine and Jan serve you then join you for conversation. The dinning room table is also stocked with snacks 24 hours a day and there is a jar full of cookies in your room which is replenished every day. The location is very convenient to downtown Galena. It is about 2 miles outside of the downtown historic area. You just pull out of the driveway onto Route 20 drive about 2 miles, turn left and you are there. The other historic houses to tour are also close by. I will definitely stay here next time we head to Galena (this was our first time there). It was clean, it was comfortable and just far enough from downtown to be quiet and peaceful. The house is beautiful, Lorraine and Jan are friendly and very nice and the location is perfect. I would highly recommend it.

My husband and I spent 3 nights at the Belle Aire Mansion this week. What a lovely, inviting, clean and happy place to stay. Lorraine and Jan are exceptionally gracious and entertaining hosts. It was my husband’s birthday while we were there and Lorraine made sure to provide a mini birthday cake for him. The food was absolutely delicious and a special touch were the cookie jars in each room which held Lorraine’s yummy chocolate chip cookies. These were replenished daily. The location is perfect. Not downtown but close enough. The downtown B & B’s tend to be located up the hill and you’d need to walk up and down up to 204 stairs to get to downtown and back. I highly recommend Belle Aire Mansion and we would definitely stay there again.

Lorraine & Jan were wonderful hosts & made us feel at home. We were met at the door with warm smiles and a true welcome. The rooms are so comfortable. The best surprise were the homemade cookies in the room and then fresh baked brownies later. Breakfast was prepared perfectly for us. Will definitely go back.

This is like staying at a family members house. It’s cozy and the owners are warm and very friendly. It’s a good place to stay and the it’s very easy to see the dedication of Jan and Lorraine. The rooms are very nice and comfortable. The whole house is comfortable and unlike a chain hotel you just feel at home here.

There wasn't a better way to spend our milestone anniversary than at the Belle Aire Mansion and Guest House in Galena. Lorraine and Jan were the most gracious, welcoming, friendly and hospitable hosts. We stayed in the "Blue Room" which was beautiful, cozy, and comfortable. There was an endless supply of homemade chocolate chip cookies and red roses to make the room special. Every morning fresh brewed coffee was available early in the hallway before the official breakfast start. The meals were outstanding, from pecan French toast to cheddar bacon souffle, to pumpkin and banana bread with fruit and apple cider syrup. Candy and brownies were always on display in the dining room for the taking. Since the hosts have been in the area over 30 years, they had terrific suggestions on where to go and upcoming events. You cannot go wrong if you stay here. There aren't enough complimentary things to say about the pretty house or the sweet, down-to-earth owners. The Belle Aire is only a short 2 mile distance from the shopping area of Galena and parking is not a problem.

We went to Galena this past weekend in honor of our fifth anniversary. Initially, we were attracted to the Belle-Aire Mansion due to the reasonable prices for their rooms and the close proximity to downtown Galena. When we arrived, Lorraine and Jan were the most impeccable hosts. They were extensively knowledgeable about the area. We planned our weekend based on their suggestions and were not disappointed! The breakfasts and snacks were excellent, especially the Pecan French Toast and Jan’s brownies. Hosts and guests joined in regular conversation each morning with each other which is part of the quintessential Bed & Breakfast experience for my husband and me. Overall, our experience was the best Bed & Breakfast I’ve been to in recent years. With hugs and treats in hand on our way home, we assured Lorraine and Jan we would be back soon! We know exactly where we will be staying on our return to Galena. Thank you for an amazing time!

Jan and Lorraine were so warm and welcoming, making sure our every need was met. Perfectly appointed rooms that catered to everything you might need, including local magazines to help plan your trip, a fridge in the hall for anything you might need kept cold, and early morning coffee service that is ready to go before breakfast time. Food is presented beautifully, and incredibly delicious. Candy is always out during the day, and homemade chocolate chip cookies wait for you in you room. I can't say enough good things about this lovely inn and even lovelier hosts. If you want a great place to stay that is just outside of the downtown Galena crowds, look no further!
