This was our second time at First Grand hotel Odense. Generally the hotel is very nice, but the facilities are getting to be quite outdated + it is bit of a shame that despite announcement in the room the Sunday brunch and actually the whole restaurant was closed on Sunday. I hope that next year we will see some improvements.

My first experienced with this hotel and also the first to this scenic town, Odense. I have informed the hotel (the same day afternoon) I will be checking in late in the evening and they responded quickly. I arrived the town by train, from the station it was about 10 minutes walk to the hotel. It was easily spotted and the lobby feels welcoming. Check in was at ease. Room was spacious and attached with a huge bathroom. This is an ECO hotel, so there is no heater during summer, they provided a table fan. Do ask for a room away from the Main Street / facing the pubs downstairs if you are a light sleeper. Breakfast was simple and it's the same menu daily. The location of the hotel made easy to walk around the town and also travel by the public transport. A pleasant stayed in First Hotel Grand and Odense.

This hotel is situated in a magnificent building just a short walk from the railway station. Reception was first rate with the offer of fresh coffee, lovely. The room were large, well equipped with very comfortable beds. Bathroom was large and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was superb. Only sorry that we only had one night here. Must return in the future.

I love the placing and the friendly staff. The rooms are up to date and feels both warm and modern. The staff in the reception always welcomes you with a smile and are ready to help. I come to Odense often for work and always choose this hotel.

We stayed at Odense First Grand Hotel for 1 night in August 2017 whilst on a 6-day driving tour across Denmark prior to a cruise. Our room was very large by European standards and the bathroom was enormous. The hotel itself seems well maintained and has both the charms and eccentricities of an older hotel. It was not air-conditioned and was a bit warm in the afternoon, but cooled down to a comfortable level by the time we went to bed. The included-breakfast had many different items and was satisfying. The hotel is well situated to the City’s Centrum, some 50-100 meters from the start of a nice shopping and dining area. We were able to find a parking spot near the hotel where we could stay overnight for free and then only paid a few dollars per hour until we left at noon. While the hotel was close the Centrum, the Centrum itself seemed relatively new overall and did not have an “old-town” atmosphere. We found the “old-town” atmosphere in the neighborhood around H.C. Anderson’s house. As we like staying in the old areas, we probably would have chosen the Radisson near Anderson’s house instead of the Centrum area. This is not a reflection on the Grand Hotel, just that the location was not quite as expected.

It's hard to point a finger at anything. Yes it's an old building, but the rooms are VERY nice. This Hotel is the King of Hotels in all of Odense, and have always been counted as THE Hotel to stay at. The restaurent is known by most of the citizens, as a high-class restaurent, with nice entertainment at times.

Located at the end of the pedestrian area in the historical heart of Odense, the First Hotel is a lovely old building. Rooms are nicely decorated and quite comfortable. Service is very nice, smiling and professional. Breakfast and meals are excellent. Part of the hotel could do with some refurbishing (including room windows that do no all close tightly), but it is a charming place as is! A multi-storey parking garage is available nearby.

We stayed overnight in this slightly old fashioned rambling hotel. We got free parking almost at the entrance which was welcome. Check in was very friendly and we got a large airy room in an annex wing which was quite a trek from reception. The room appeared partially refurbished (could have done with more work to it though) and we had probably the most comfortable beds we encountered on our Danish road trip - believe me, that is praise indeed! There was also a very comfortable two seater sofa in the room and some attractive lamps. Bathroom was large and perfectly adequate and the towels were quite good too. Although a bit short on room amenities, we did have an iron and ironing board which was welcome. Location was perfect for a tourist with shops, restaurants, cafes and tourist sights very close by. Breakfast was very good too with a great choice and plenty of space to sit despite the hotel being fairly busy. We stayed in several hotels belonging to this chain and this was one of the better ones.

Charming hotel in Odense city. Walking distanse to restaurants. We stayed at Grand Suite witch has a king size bed, sofa, bathtub and a very small balkony. Good breakfast and we had a great drink in the bar at the evening. They dont have staff in the bar on sundays, witch i think is strange on vacation. So if we wanted someting we had to go out in the city. When you have walked around the city all day loong and was tired and lazy, and needed a refreshing drink, we couldent get it.. Cleaning is important and the room and bathroom is not clean enough. And there is no space around the sink to place your things. We had a nice stay!

This out of the plan stay was in fact a very nice one. Look aside that the hotel is in need of some upgrading and refurbishing,- it is definetely charming. We had a junior suite with charming high ceiling,- and charming but a bit worn down bathroom. Too little space to keep all our bathroom accessories. Plus for 2 fully comfortable bathrobes. Breakfast is average. Ok minibar. Very good cocktail saturday evening,- a big plus here! But that it was not possible to order a cocktail Sunday afternoon is pulling back on the minus big time! It should not be possible that the bar is closed on a Sunday,- vacation period or not! So this turns the dice from 4 stars to 3 stars,- as we are generally satisfied with our stay,- but too unproffesional to close down the bar in what is supposed to be a classy hotel. Even for a small city like Odense.
